A. You can get a metal bed frame with adapter plates that will allow you to bolt on your HB and FB, but use your full-sized mattress instead of the queen-size. The only thing you would not be using would be the rails that come with the bed (if there are any). Any mattress store in your town carries metal frames, and they can help you choose the right one for the bed you are buying.

What is the difference between a full and an oversized twin?
Q. I plan to buy a comforter set in an "oversized twin" but i have a full bed. Will it still work?

A. Hi
It can be more difficult to find bedding for an extra long twin bed. In stores, these extra long sheets are easier to find at the end of the summer, during back to school sales. You can also find sheets for an extra long twin bed online.

Some suggest using an extra long twin bed in a guest room. If you purchase two, you can push them together and create a king-size bed. Keep in mind that if you do buy an extra long mattress, you will need a new bed frame to go with it. Most mattress stores will include a new frame for little or no cost with the purchase of a new mattress and box spring.

If an extra long twin bed is not what you are looking for, there are many other mattress sizes available. A double bed, also known as a full, is another popular choice for a guest bedroom or a small apartment. These are 54 inches by 75 inches (137 cm by 190 cm). Some couples find them uncomfortable and too small for two people.

The most popular sizes for couples are queen and king size beds. Queen beds are 60 inches by 80 inches (152 cm by 203 cm). Standard king size beds are the widest available at 76 inches by 80 inches (193 cm by 203 cm), and the longest beds available, California kings, are 72 inches by 84 inches (182 cm by 213 cm).

Hope this helps

Are there specific regulations to breed cats in Kentucky?
Q. I am interested in breeding and selling quality cats. Is there a license that must be acquired prior to breeding and selling a specific species of cat? If there is, how can I acquire the requirements to begin a cattery?

A. Here's a good article about starting a cattery in general:

Becoming a Pedigreed Cat Breeder
Things to Consider Before Breeding Your Feline Friend

New catteries start up every day, often before thoroughly researching everything there is to know about breeding cats. Before you breed your kitty, please read this!

The Cattery Business

Running a cattery and breeding cats is not a business. It is a hobby. If you are interested in breeding your purebred cat, it is important to realize that every penny that is made from the sale of a litter of kittens goes straight back into the operation costs of a cattery, and that does not include a salary for the breeder. If you are considering breeding your cat as a source of income, you should go straight to the veterinarian and have your feline spayed or neutered. It takes most breeders three to five years before they begin to break even financially.
Know Your Breed!

Before you ever consider breeding, you must first pick the right breed for your family. If you dont start with this very basic foundation, you will fail. One must know their breed well if they are to be a successful breeder. Not only must you live in harmony with your kitty, but you also have to know enough about your breed to pick out the perfect cats for your breeding program.

You have to know about color genetics, bone structure, what your breeds fur should look like, as well as often how their coat should feel. You have to know how to balance out the characteristics of your queen and stud cats so that your kittens produced will be the best of their breed that is always the goal! People who adopt your kittens will also rely on you for every detail about properly raising their cats, including health, temperament, grooming and more.
Where to Find and Purchase Breeding Cats

Once youve decided what feline breed you would enjoy raising, the next step is to find a breeder who will sell a cat with breeding rights. This is often difficult! Reputable breeders screen thoroughly before placing a cat into a breeding situation, and most will only place cats with experienced and established breeders. The price of a purebred cat with breeding rights is easily $1,000.00 or more! If you do not purchase breeding rights, you cannot register your kittens.
Setting Up a Cattery

The CFA offers suggestions on how to set up your cattery. This includes how much space you need, what equipment you will need to efficiently run your cattery, as well as great detail on cleanliness and care. A cattery can be set up in a spare bedroom in your home, but it has to be done properly and be kept immaculately. If you dont enjoy cleaning, trying to run a cattery is a bad idea. The CFA guidelines also recommend a certain female to male ratio to keep your cats happy and stress free. Also, in many states, there are more specific laws and regulations, including health inspections and state licenses.

Things to Consider BEFORE Starting a Cattery

If youve read this far and are still considering opening a cattery, here are a few things to think about:

* Running a cattery properly is a full-time job with no pay. Do you have 10 hours a day to devote to your cats?
* Breeding is an expensive hobby, and you may not recoup operating costs for 3-5 years. Can you afford the start-up costs?
* Breeders do not take vacations, and plans are often interrupted due to illness or births. Can you always be there for your cats?
* Cats often need expensive health care, up to $2500 in the case of an emergency C-section. Do you have this much in your savings account?
* There is always the possibility that your cat will die during labor. Are you willing to risk your cats life?
* You may not always be able to place every kitten in a home. Can you keep any kittens you cant place?
* Kittens die its just a fact that many do. Can you handle the death of a kitten?

Theres much more to consider and so much more involved in running a cattery, but these are the basics. Before you start a cattery, do your research, get involved in a breed club, find a mentor who will teach you about breeding, and search your heart and soul. You will be responsible for the life of every kitten you bring into the world, as well as to the family who adopted them. It is a huge responsibility!

first aparment, one bedroom w/ 2 people- how much money should I save up for furniture and other supplies?
Q. It's my boyfriend and I. It will be a relatively small apartment, about 500 a month.
what do you think?
covering basic furniture like a couch, bed, some kind of tv stand, a dresser, etc
towels, plates, etc etc
how much did you save?

A. First, ask any family or friends if they have any furniture tucked away somewhere that they thought they would one day use and really arn't going to.
My fiance and I got a dining room set and coffee table set from his parents.
My parents paid for a couch set as a house warming gift (cost from the brick - $1100 CDN)
Second ( do you not already have a bed?) i would assume yes, however you may each only have twin sized beds and would prefer a double/Queen.
If you buy a mattress set (box spring and mattress) you can usually get the set for about $600 CDN (Sears) and alot of places have a deal when you buy the Mattress set it comes with the frame (it will be a metal frame) (I personally prefer a wooden frame, but it is much more expensive and to my preference.)
For the little things (Cooking supplies, pots, pand, dinner ware, silver ware, toaster, kettle, coffee pot, etc) have a house warming party and on your invitations you can register somewhere or give everyone a hint as to what you need to make life a little easier in your new place.
Also go to some yard sales, people are always getting rid of old furnature etc. It may not be 100% appealing to you, but enough to start out with until you can afford what you like. Alot of people (who might me moving out of the country and cannot take all of their things with them) have a "house Sale" where they sell everything you see when you walk in the house (art, furnature, decor,) everything must go from these places, you can get some very nice things for very little because the seller whats whatever they can get because they cannot take it with them, If they do not sell it, the buyer of there house will inherit it when thy move in.
Also always have your next months bills saved for.
I.e. You rent is 500, utilities 250, food 300 anything else 250
Total 1300
When you pay in May make sure you have that 1300 saved for next month (June) and so on...
That way you will know a month ahead if you need to put a little extra away...
and you will always have the 1300 in case of an emergency
I would do the same for car insurance and loand payments and anything else you expense monthly
