What is a good bedroom idea for a tween?

Q. I am getting a new bedroom when i move to my new house, and i was wondering if anyone had any good ideas. My favourite colors are blue, green, and purple.

A. Use any one of the three on your bedroom walls and use the other two plus white or black for accent colors. It should look pretty decent as all three are neighbors on the color wheel.

How fast and effective is a home internet router?
Q. My bedroom has NO phone jack (I think that's the word) and I want to have internet access on my pc in my room. My mother's room is the closest one and she recommended getting a router, I would like to know how fast my connection would be and anything else I need to know about a router because I am a novice concerniong them.

A. Hello -

The router is only as fast as your Internet connection. Setting up a wireless network (using a router) requires a broadband (high-speed) Internet connection, whether its DSL, or Cable, or even Satellite connections. If you only have a dial-up connection, then a wireless router wouldn't work.

Setting up routers are relatively easy. They come with installation CDs that will step you through everything you need to do.

One word of caution. Should you elect to create a wireless network using a wireless router, then be certain when you're going through the installation process that when it asks whether it should enable security, you choose "yes".

If you don't, then what can happen is that you'll provide free Internet access to typically everyone within a 1500 ft radius of where the router is sitting, depending upon line-of-sight. People could use your network, browse your files, hack into a website and make it look like you did it.

I don't say this to scare you off, only to be sure to turn on your security so that only people with the proper network key can access your network. I have set up hundreds of these networks, and all work great! I have a wireless network at my house, too.

So, when installing the router, get out a piece of paper and pencil and take notes as the computer asks for information. It'll ask for:
1. SSID (network name)
2. Type of encryption (WEP, WPA, etc.)
3. Encryption strength (64bit WEP, 128bit WEP, etc.)
4. Network passphrase (key is generated off of this)
5. What the actual network key is.
6. Advisable to change your admin password as well.

Good luck! Hope this helps!

How to you figure out when your ovulating?
Q. My Husband and I are trying to have a baby but I cant seem to get the timing right. I need to know how do you calculate your ovulation when you have VERY irregular piriods? I'm not on any kind of set cycle, most women have a 28 day cycle, mine bounces around like carzy. How do I know when I'm actually ovulating?

A. I anwsered it this way for someone else hope this helps. If this works for you make sure you name your first born "Zqx357"

You need to know some basic things. Let me help you. Yes I am a guy these instructions were given to my wife and I by a Doctor. Follow my instructions if you and your husband are healthy adults of Child bearing age this plan will work for you

First, you need to understand your monthly cycle.

Write down the date your period starts the first month then the following month write down the date the next period ENDS. Now count the days that is considered your cycle. Most ladies have a 28 day cycle. The most likely day to conceive is the date at the mid way point between periods. This is when your egg will move down to your womb. For example, If you have a 28 day cycle next month count out 14 days from when your period starts that is the day to conceive for you. Mark it on your calender. Do NOT start counting when your period ends again start counting days when your period begins. Some ladies cycle is always different one month it could be 28 days the next month it might be 30 days, but by counting days you can narrow down the day. Continue to track and find that mid point day even it your cycle is alway differnt. To be sure you get the right day there is one other thing you must do. Pay attention is part is important!

Second, Go to Wal-mart and purchase a digital thermometer they have them for as little as $4.00. Put it next to your bed with piece of paper and a pen. Then when you wake up each and every morning without fail take your temperure BEFORE YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM. ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO THIS AS SOON AS YOU GET UP AND extremely important that you take your temperture BEFORE YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM. Record your temperture on the piece of paper. Every morning your temperature should near 98.6 degrees. The day you can conceive (your ovulation day) your temperture will spike 1 to 2 degrees higher then all the other recorded temperatures. When that happens wake your husband up and have him do his part. NO oral please! Warning if you take your temperture after you pee you will get a false reading - peeing will raise your temperture by 1-2 degrees. Your Ovulation time is usually only 1-2 days each month. That means you only have one to two chances each month to get it done. Repeat these steps each month until you conceive.

Third, the more sex a man has the lower his sperm count is when your are approaching day 14th (or whatever your ovulation day is) do not have sex make your husband wait until your temperture spikes. It will raise his sperm count through the ceiling. The higher the sperm count the better the chance of conception. When you are trying to conceive the worst thing you can do is have sex every day. Daily sex will lower your husband's sperm count and conception is more difficult. Every other day or every third day is ok!

Fourth, Ask God to help you to increase your faith please read First Samuel chapter 1 (its in the Old Testament) The story is about this lady who could not conceive but she had faith in God She prayed for a child and God anwsered her prayer. Please read it.

Fifth, Sometimes conception takes time if it does not happen as soon as you like just keep trying until it does.
Have fun in the bedroom and don't take it to seriously.

Be blessed!

What style is this furniture? And can it be used 2 make a hollywood glamour bedroom. If so how?

Q. This is the whole furniture----> I am only getting the whole bed dresser mirror and 2 nightstands. How can I make this bedroom set work into hollywood glamour?

http://www.roomstogo.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=showRoom&roo_id=6735

A. I think this furniture will absolutely work in a 'Old Hollywood Glamour' Bedroom.

Add satin sheets with a alot of cushions with different textures to the bed, silk drapes on the windows, a faux fur rug and a chandelier will complete the look.

Black and white portraits of actresses or places in Hollywood in old vintage frames will look great on the walls.

If you could build your dream house what would I find in it?
Q. ..that may not be in other houses?

A. first, a nice green grassy lawn with a dog house and swing set and a gate that has a buzzer to let people in. then a shuttle service would come to pick you up. inside, i would have a waiting area for guests, a bathroom for guests, and a lounge for guests. there would be a receptionist also. then i would have a bar, a bowling alley, a lounge, a theater, a studio, 2 huge kitchen, 5 to 6 bathrooms, 10 bedrooms, a swimming pool, an indoor gym, a showroom, an arcade, a wardrobe, and lots of secret passages and rooms. Then i would have a garage with lots of antique cars, and modern cars.

Any ideas on how to cover/hide a television in a bed room?

Q. I just found a bed room set at Ashley's furniture store and it is amazing. The problem is it doesn't have the matching armior. I was thinking about putting a flat screen tv on the chest that goes with the bedroom set, but I don't want it to be visible. Any ideas on how I can hide the tv when it is not in use?

A. Find a carpenter who can make a small cabinet that would match. It would be similar to a dart-board game style...

Or check with the manufacturer, see if they have a website, and perhaps you can special order the armoir. If you're willing to pay, there is always someone willing to sell.

Maybe, you'll just chance upon a matching article on ebay or Tuesday Morning that can be modified?

Is there a big difference between coffee and espresso colored furniture?
Q. I am trying to complete a bedroom set by purchasing different parts from different sets. The headboard I bought was beautiful, but the dressers and armoires weren't. So I'm putting together my own "set". I would consider my headboard to be an espresso color and there is a dresser online that is considered "coffee" color. There are other dressers that are espresso but I L0VE this dresser. If I were to purchase it would the colors be totally off?

A. Espresso is nearly black Coffee is a very dark brown ..As far as the colors being off...yes depends on their proximity and the lighting too. PLus the colors are wildly different manufacturer to manufacturer. It could work especially if it is multitoned.. What I would do is take a photo that accurately represents the color of the headboard and email it to them but their monitors could be skewed.

What is the difference between these colors...?
Q. I am getting a bedroom set and some items are from one store and some are from the other. Can someone please tell me or even show me pictures of the difference in color with these colors. black and black brown. is there a big noticeable difference

please and thank you
Wow you people are rude. I ask a question because OBVIOUSLY i couldn't find it. If anything you people are stupid because they have these sites for a reason and that is to ask questions you aren't sure about not ask a question and be insulted by people I don't even know.

A. There's a difference for sure, but how noticeable it is depends a lot on the lighting and on the individual manufacturer's version of black brown. Might even be hard to see the difference on a computer screen, depending on your monitor and so on. I mean, black brown is a very very dark brown, but it's still brown. The good news is that those two colours look pretty good together.

Where in Qatif and/or Dammam can we find modern-style furniture at a reasonable price?

Baby Name Game - Very fun!?
Q. I love doing baby name games/fantasy families, so here's one! Sorry, it's kinda long...

1. You and Your partner (what are your names?) have been together since the tender ages of 10 & 12.
He is now 24 and you, 22. Whilst on holiday in Queensland, Australia, you and your partner are relaxing by the candlelit pool. He drops down on one knee and pulls out a stunning platinum engagement ring. He then proposes and you obviously scream "Yes!!"

2. You come home a week after the proposal and your parents have got you an early wedding present!
A beautiful new home for you and your fiance. What does it look like? Where is it?

3. Your wedding day arrives and you find out you are 2 months pregnant! What is your wedding like? e.g. setting, who is his best man? who are your bridesmaids? Your maid of honour?

4. You thought that your wedding day was the best day of your life but when your 6lb 7oz baby boy is born on 10th February, you are both lost for words. What do you call your beautiful first born?

5. When your son is 6 months old you decide to get a puppy - you had one your whole life up until a year ago, it was your best friend and you want your son to have the same sort of lifelong companion. What breed? What is it called?

6. At the age of 2, your son is in nursery and you feel sorry that he is an only child. You and hubby decide to try for another baby...or two!
On October 13th your newborn twins (1 boy, 1 girl) enter the world. What are their names?

7. Your son is now 4 and the twins, 2 years old. You have always wanted a big family and start trying again.
This time it takes you alot longer to concieve. A year later and you become pregnant and the following summer, your little angel, a girl arrives 3 weeks premature at 4lb 2oz. Her first name should mean "natural" and middle name "beauty."

8. A while on, your twins want a pet each. However, it isn't a dog or cat.
Your son gets an African Grey Parrot! What is its name?
Your daughter gets a beautiful Yemen Chameleon! She calls it what?

9. You always wanted a big family so you decide to start trying again.

Your eldest is 15, the twins are 13 and your daughter, 11. When you become pregnant with triplets, it's a shock for everyone. You've gone from not having a baby around for years to 3 all at once!
3 beautiful baby boys arrive on April 18th and you and hubby are overjoyed!
The first born was a healthy and big at 6lb 4oz. However he was starving the other two of oxygen in the womb. This leads to complications.
Your 2nd born is smaller at 4lb 1oz. There are some complications. His first name should mean "fighter"
The third born son is weak and tiny at only 2lb 2oz. He has been starved of oxygen and is scrawny and weak. He manages to pull through and although he develops slighly slower than his siblings, grows up to be a healthy young man. His first name should mean "strong" and middle name "warrior." He then has another middle name, this can be whatever you want.

10. With 7 children you have finally reached your limit!
Only to find out, you're pregnant again. This time you have another baby boy. He is perfect and as soon as you see him you know your family is finally complete. His first name can be whatever you like, his middle name means "special."

Over the years you and your family have more additions in the form of pets.
You get:

2 boa constrictor snakes - called?
3 bearded dragons - called?
another dog - what breed, name, colour?
A snow white kitten - called?

This is a really big family - sorry! Hope you enjoy it! x

A. 1. My name is Maryssa. My husband's name is Jacob.
2. Our house is simple, but big enough for a large family (since my parents know that I want a big family. Which is an actual dream of mine). The house is light blue on the outside with a white picket fence and big front yard. (Yeah, I know, I'm unoriginal) The inside has an AWESOME fireplace. The attic is huge and perfect for a play area for children. There are two floors (not counting the basement and attic). On the first floor is the living room and kitchen, as well as a full bathroom. On the second floor there are three bedrooms and two more bathrooms. Then there's the master bedroom and master bathroom! We live in Tennessee, my favorite state.
3. The wedding is awesome. The best man is my husband's best friend and sister's husband Kyle. My sister, being only nineteen and the mother of my nephew Chris, is one of my bridesmaids. My two best friends Jen and Katie fight over who is to be my maid of honor, so I make them both my maids of honor. The wedding is in a church, which is what Jacob wanted. I am not religious, but I go along with what he wants. I'm ecstatic about the pregnancy and tell my husband that night while we're on our honeymoon.
4. I call my son Alan Jacob. After my father and wonderful husband.
5. I get a terrier and name him Shaggy.
6. My twins names are Richard Brian (after a beloved teacher and a wonderful uncle) and Mary Kathleen (Mary-Kate as a nickname and named after my ggrandmother

Q. -Angel-

"Clyde," I said seriously. "Clyde, I'm going home, that way I won't have to put up with this anymore. Clyde I miss my sister. Clyde I miss being normal. I believe an incubus automatically excuses me from being normal." I finished.

-Clyde-

I stared at Angel for a moment... There was NO possible way I would permit her to leave. Xavier's voice echoed through my head.
"Either you set her free, and never see her again, or kill her."
My eyes narrowed. I walked away, leaving Angel there. Before I knew it, I was in my closet, picking out a hatchet, and returning to her.

Angel's hair was in two pigtails on top of her pretty little head. I guess I had to cut those off. The more unattractive she was in the end, the less it would hurt me. She was backed up against the wall, completely bare. I stared to capture her beauty one more time before charging, but she dodged me, running into another room.

I could hear her breathing, which led me to her bedroom.

"Darling," I whispered, walking up to her and pressing my lips to her neck. "Don't make this any harder. It'll just make it harder for both of us," I whispered, taking the knife to her hair and cutting off her pigtails. She turned to me, horrified, then ran again, but this time I caught her by the wrist.

She screamed fearfully, eyes watering. I smirked at her, ready to get this over with, but in my mind, I was crying. What monster was I? I mean--- Sure I'm an incubus, but killing a fourteen year old girl because she wouldn't stay with me? Then again, it was this or let her live freely and me never lay eyes on her again, which seemed like more torture to me.

Angel looked up at me, silvery eyes not scared anymore, but sad, like they were the many times her father had beaten her. I stared at her for a second, my smirk fading and my eyes growing. A single tear dropped to the ground.

"Angel I-" I said, but she cut me off.
"YOU LIED TO ME!" She screamed. "YOU NEVER HAD LOVED ME LIKE YOU SAID!" she finished, and my eyes widened.
"NEVER SAY THAT ANGEL LIOLET!" I yelled at her, pulling her close to me, kissing her one last time as I heard her sob. "I'm doing this... because I love you," I told her assuringly, before lifting the hatchet, taking one last look at her, and slicing her plum in half.

After that, I fell down crying. I had killed the only girl I could love. I felt horrible. I looked down at her body, and removed the ring I had made her what seemed like so long ago. Size six. Holding it against my chest, I left, whispering the words 'I love you Angel,' one more time, and slamming the door, leaving my lovers body on the ground to rot.

A. It's good but... what's a plum..? And why does she wait for him to get a hatchet?!?! Also isn't fourteen a bit young to have an incubus I mean think of the implications! And why is the incubus acting so nice!!! (apart from killing her...)

I need help picking a wall color or accent color?

Q. I am trying to redo my master bedroom. I am looking a getting this new bed from badcock.
http://www.badcock.com/Badcock/Furniture/Bedroom/QueenBeds/PRD_900589/Queen+Upholstered+Bed.jsp?bmUID=1298239346733
Also new bedding, I want the sheets and 2 pillow cases to be brown/tan zebra print but the comforter and other 2 pillows to be a different color. What color should I put on the walls? Should I put a tan/creme on the walls and pick a bold color for the comforter/accents?

Also I am putting this flooring down because this is what I already but in my sons room.
http://www.lowes.com/pd_211699-30029-D2853WG_0__?productId=3111167&Ntt=swiftlock+flooring&Ns=p_product_price|0&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNs%3Dp_product_price%7C0%26Ntt%3Dswiftlock%2Bflooring

Any opinions would be appreciated

A. For a sophisticated look, I would choose a comforter in something like this, a great linen with brown trim.

http://www.bassettfurniture.com/Cream-and-Brown-Queen-Bed-Set-DZ20797.asp

Then I would add your bold colors in the coverlet, accent pillows, & other accessories in the room. For a wall color, check out Sherwin Williams 6106 Kilim beige. Use their Duration Home line in a flat finish for a great velvety finish, or their Quartz faux finish for extra texture & elegant drama.

For a rug on your wood floor, choose a leather rug or a flokati in at least an 8x10:

http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/clearancerugs/rugs-usa-/beige/170SHATAN-2608.html

Let's say you want to do reds as an accent. You'll pick that up as red accent pillows, red coverlet (maybe a mattelasse), candles, & artwork like this:

http://www.art.com/products/p14101293-sa-i2802331/darrell-gulin-fireweed-and-wild-barley-in-denali-national-park-alaska-usa.htm?sorig=cat&sorigid=12134&dimvals=12134&ui=b21ce296fe0f46d4ae6da39c75ec9e5f

Or just keep the room in all neutrals to keep a soothing look (that would be my preference).

In any case, texture is the key.

Honest opinion of gay pride parades?
Q. What are people's honest opinion on these? My partner and I think they are detrimental to the community. They really set us back and portray us as sex-crazed maniacs. I've seen the craziness that goes on some and frankly, the stuff makes embarrassed. We are just two normal looking guys that have been together for 9 years and we really don't agree on the parades. We think they are un necessary. Please, leave your excessive drag queen, leather fetish, bondage attire at home in your bedroom if you want America and the World to think more of us.

Folks opinions? out there?

A. I agree with you 100%.

I wish that the parades would focus more on paying tribute to all of the men and woman that made sacrifices to advance our civil rights.

The Mattachine Society kicked off the gay rights movement as we know it today and The Stone Wall riots ignited a fire in our bellies. Many men and woman fought tirelessly, giving countless hours and some even their lives to gain freedom and rights.

I understand the reasons for wanting celebrate so freely. But the works not done, not even by a long shot.

I used to go to my local pride event, but I always had a twinge of pain every time I saw some of the LGBT community acting like they had no sense at all.

Now, I stay home with my kids and reflect on the people that have made my life as a gay woman easier.

I'm not saying that the LGBT community shouldn't celebrate. They should. That's what all the parties at the bars are for. Wanna go out half dressed or in your fetish gear? Then save it for the bar, Please!

The gay community would be doing it's self a huge favor if it looked back to the most successful civil rights movement ever. Dr. King marched dressed in his Sunday best. Look back at the pictures of him marching in Birmingham. In the scorching heat, wearing a suit, tie and dress hat. Marching peacefully with so much pride, able to hold his head high knowing that all the participants were putting their best foot forward.

Instead we just give the media an easy chance to make snide comments about us.

I'm looking to redo my room... can i have some ideas?
Q. I have a beautiful room, but i'm almost 16, and it is time to change it. It looks like a 12 year old lives in it.
It is yellow sponge painted and it has a white wainscoating all around it. I Loved horses, and i still do, so it has a beatiful canvas on the wall of horses running, and then a few other horse pictures on the wall. These are the things i want to change:
- My desk
- my bed comfortor/quilt
- the canvas on the wall
- my lamp on my desk
-my fan in teh ceiling
- possibly add a few lanterns from the celiling

Here is what i wanted the bedding to be:
http://www.pbteen.com/products/peace-patchwork-quilt-and-sham/?pkey=gthmgrlphb

I'm worried though that i won't be able to afford all of this stuff. I only get $100 a month, so it's going to be tough. I want to get everything done by November. I have my heart set on getting these things from pb teen because i love them, but they are just so expensive! I don't know what to do! Do you have any ideas? I don't want to get something of really cheap quality though because then it won't last very long. I want a NICE room. My room is the most beautiful in the house(this isn't an overstatement either and our house is gorgeous) but i dont' know what to do with it. I have a twin bed, but I'm afriad tha tif i get a queen bed my roomw ill look very small. Any Ideas?

A. One of the fastest and easiest ways to make over a room is painting it. If you think the yellow is making the room too little-girlish, you can paint it a fresh new color. I really wanted to paint my bedroom a royal purple, but the natural lighting in my room is low, so I didn't want the dark color to make my room appear small and dark. I chose to paint the 2 walls opposite my bed purple, and painted the remaining 2 walls an antique white. This way I got the purple color I desired without over-doing it. I chose black and white bedding, so the purple really spices up the room with a pop of color.

As for changing your furniture, when I wanted to makeover my apartment I had to just buy a little at a time. I shopped around for the best deals online and in store, and when I ran into a great deal I scooped it up (like a leather storage ottoman for $50, one of my favorite pieces). Maybe you could purchase your bedding first, since you are really convinced that you want that certain type, and then you can buy the rest of the furniture a little at a time to complement the bedding.

Don't be afraid to look at resale shops, craigslist, and Amazon. I found a lot of decorative items on Amazon for cheap, and most of the time you can get free shipping if you spend $25 - that is hard to beat! I'm also a huge fan of target, online and in store, and they have some great lamps.

As for the queen size bed, that might be a good investment, but might not. Generally a mattress needs to be replaced every 5 years, so if you stick it out with your twin bed you could aim for purchasing a larger bed when you're around 21. I think that would be a great age to invest in a larger bed. Especially because if you go to college or move into a small apartment, etc, you may not be able to fit a queen size bed in your new place. I'd say stick it out with the twin bed for a few more years. But if you do feel the need to get the larger bed, measure out how much room the queen size bed would take up in your bedroom; would you still be able to fit your desk and other furniture items, or would your bedroom be super cluttered?

Hope you figure out something that makes you happy! Good luck.

Basement Bedroom Decor.?

Q. I have a Bedroom in the basement down at my dad's and it is kinda "Blah" and i wanna make it more relax instead of just white walls and the paint they have up now is peeling off the wall. Is there a special type of pain i need to get to cover the cement brick walls? What colors should i do, im not into light colors but i like vibrant colors. I have a cherry queen set bedroom suit down there now and i want that to go with the theme/decor of the room too. Im also into the black and white photos in the frames with the overhead light on them. I don't have a big budget to do this room on so nothing to pricey please

Thank you,
Kate

A. First you have use a scraper and wire brush to remove the old flaking paint, then wash the walls with a scrub brush using ammonia and a squeeze of dishsoap in a bucket of water. (tsp-tri sodium phosphate works best but ammonia/dish soap works great and saves you some money)
You have to use a primer/sealer before you paint, the best primer for brick
aaaww sorry...reading thru your questions I see you never pick an answer

ps. DO NOT use exterior paint indoors

Bedroom decor?
Q. Any ideas on how to decorate this on a TIGHT budget? I'm open to all suggestions on colors, themes, etc.:) Details appreciated.
My bedroom : hardwood floors, no furniture yet. Off white walls (can paint), White doors and trim. Two tall, narrow windows. About 7 or 8 feet tall, start about two feet off floor and about 4 inches from ceiling. Pretty small. We have a queen size bed and after that there is probably enough room for say, a dresser and desk and then a bit left to walk through. Not much space at all. Just looking for some fresh, creative ideas from people instead of websites:)

A. Well how about visiting your local budget store (like Walmart or Target if in the US) and look for side wicker tables. They are usually cheaper. I would go with White.
Then pick a fresh clean color for your walls. Like spa blue or light lemon yellow.
Get a white down comforter and white sheets. You can find these for cheap at budget stores.
Find a throw blanket in the color of your walls and fold at the edge of bed for a splash of color. Get white curtains. Find a lamp that goes well with the walls and also a canvas painting to hang right above the bed. (Target has some very cute canvas paintings for all color themes -some under $20).
It depends on what YOU like obviously. But on a tight budget- you can do a crisp clean Summer Spa room for very little money. Set a couple colored candles on a dresser and just give your room an airy feel.
I would skip any kind of carpet or rug altogether. Hardwood floors are the BEST.
As for bed. Just get a bed frame (especially if you hang a painting above the bed) and mattress. To give the bed more feel - add loads of pillows instead.

Do you have any fun facts about the Tudors/their spouses?
Q. For a powerpoint presentation... Here's what I have so far:

-Ann Boleyn and Catherine Howard supposedly haunt the Tower of London
-Ann Boleyn had 6 fingers on her right hand
-One of the men she was falsely accused of adultery with was her own brother
-It is speculated that Henry VIIIs cause of death was syphilis
-By age 54, Henry VIII was so obese, he had to be carried everywhere by sedan chair

A. Henry VII was the first Tudor king. He married Elizabeth of York, the daughter of Edward VI to make his reign legal. He is also said to have had a part in the murder of the Princes in the Tower, the sons of Edward IV & legimate heirs to the throne. Their murders have been blamed on Richard III, their uncle because of Shakespeare's play but the evidence doesn't bear this out. Two skeletons were found in 1674 & presumed to be theirs. The White Tower in the Tower of London is supposed to be haunted by two crying small boys ever since their disappearance.
Henry VII had 2 sons - Arthur & Henry. Arthur married Catherine of Aragon & then died giving the throne to Henry & his wife too which later gave Henry a reason to divorce her when he fell for Anne Boleyn. She may have had six fingers on her right hand but there's no proof. She was accused of adultery with her brother, her favourite musician & countless others. The funny thing is she had kept Henry on the string without sleeping with him for years, the first time was when she got pregnant with Elizabeth.
Henry married six times, three Katherines - one divorced, one executed & one out-lived him, two Annes - one executed & one divorced & one Jane who bore him his only son, Edward & died.
Yes, he probably had syphillis. This is what made him almost sterile - six wives - three kids & so hard to get along with. It's called syphillitic megalopathy. He was king & always got his way so when he thought someone was against him, they didn't have a chance.
Not only was he obese, he had gout! Yuck! He had open, running smelly sores on his leg & couldn't stand the pain when someone touched it even by accident. A lot of people died for that. That's one reason he married his last wife, Catherine Parr. She'd been married twice before to rich old men that she nursed until they died & left her a lot of money. Maybe she had something to do with all those deaths.
Her last husband was Thomas Seymour who only married her because he couldn't get Mary or Elizabeth. He wanted to be king & seduced Elizabeth while they were living at Catherine's place. She died in childbirth & so did the child. Thomas was executed by his brother Edward & nephew Edward (who he used to keep in pocket money so that surprised the heck out of him)
Mary married Phillip of Spain & being a rabid Catholic burned a lot of people at the stake for being Protestant. This earned her the nick name Bloody Mary. She thought she was pregnant a couple of times but the pregnancies turned out to be phantom pregnancies - all in her head. Then she died.
Elizabeth I inherited from Mary. She almost inherited her husband too, Phillip asked her to marry him but she said no which set off a big war between her & Spain. Her boyfriend, Robert Dudley's wife "fell down a flight of stairs" & broke her neck after Elizabeth became Queen. Robert wanted to get married, Elizabeth didn't. Her last boyfriend, Robert Essex was Dudley's stepson. He was executed after he ran into her bedroom early one morning & saw her without her make-up - BAD MOVE - off with his head! There were a lot of guys in between the two Roberts but she figured they were mostly interested in the crown not her so she never married (but she did fool around - hell, she was Queen, she could do what she wanted) Elizabeth was the last of the Tudors.
There were only five Tudor Kings & Queens but they DID leave their mark in history.

Bedroom Re-design help!?
Q. Heres what I've got:
Walnut (dark) brown '80s Henredon bedset. (dresser, 2 night stands & queen bed) It's gorgeous and I love it. I also have a really ultra-modern desk made of light maple veneer and black metal. It is ugly and I want to get rid of it but can't. :(

The walls in my room are tan (also gorgeous and it can't change) The trim (mouldings etc) are off white, and the carpet is a gray/tan color. The accents in my room (door knobs, lighting closet pulls) are bronze AKA fake gold.

I am looking for an idea for a color scheme (involving curtains, rug, bedding, towel sets and accessories) that blend well together (not too matchy-matchy) and conveys a more traditional sophisticated feel.
I also have a really ultra-modern desk made of light maple veneer and black metal.

I can't and wont change the paint, fixtures, carpet or furniture.

Please nothing purple or pink!
I've been looking but I just can't find anything. Please help! :D
Haha. The cow is fine in her barn... It's ME that needs a new room!

A. lol i have it all pictured. red and gold. they would bring out a dark woods natural beauty and it already sounds like the carpet and walls are neutral. as far as the desk goes, i would recommend making or having someone make a slip cover for it. that may sound strange, but a tailored slipcover that fits the desk exactly could look very nice, and the desktop is still functional while hiding the drawers and parts that just don't go, i can photo one at my dads house for you if you'd like something visual. email me if you are interested in what the heck im talking about: annej9683@yahoo.com

What is the difference between a full and an oversized twin?

Q. I plan to buy a comforter set in an "oversized twin" but i have a full bed. Will it still work?

A. Hi
It can be more difficult to find bedding for an extra long twin bed. In stores, these extra long sheets are easier to find at the end of the summer, during back to school sales. You can also find sheets for an extra long twin bed online.

Some suggest using an extra long twin bed in a guest room. If you purchase two, you can push them together and create a king-size bed. Keep in mind that if you do buy an extra long mattress, you will need a new bed frame to go with it. Most mattress stores will include a new frame for little or no cost with the purchase of a new mattress and box spring.

If an extra long twin bed is not what you are looking for, there are many other mattress sizes available. A double bed, also known as a full, is another popular choice for a guest bedroom or a small apartment. These are 54 inches by 75 inches (137 cm by 190 cm). Some couples find them uncomfortable and too small for two people.

The most popular sizes for couples are queen and king size beds. Queen beds are 60 inches by 80 inches (152 cm by 203 cm). Standard king size beds are the widest available at 76 inches by 80 inches (193 cm by 203 cm), and the longest beds available, California kings, are 72 inches by 84 inches (182 cm by 213 cm).

Hope this helps

How to tell if furniture is of good quality?
Q. I found a set of furniture: queen sized headboard, dresser with mirror, smaller dresser and nightstand at a local place for $800 before taxes.

It looks like it's sturdy but I'm having second thoughts about it. Is there any way to tell if furniture is going to last or not?

A. Look closely at the construction, make sure its solid wood and not half wood, half mdf.before you commit to such a high price, check out craigslist or want ads,my brother just got a brand new king sized bedroom set for 500,retailed 4000! Also,if your paying in full ask if theres a discount,a lot of times they will give you one if you pay cash. And dont be afraid to ask questions,a lot of times sales people will steer you to better goods for less if your friendly.

Are there specific regulations to breed cats in Kentucky?
Q. I am interested in breeding and selling quality cats. Is there a license that must be acquired prior to breeding and selling a specific species of cat? If there is, how can I acquire the requirements to begin a cattery?

A. Here's a good article about starting a cattery in general:

Becoming a Pedigreed Cat Breeder
Things to Consider Before Breeding Your Feline Friend

New catteries start up every day, often before thoroughly researching everything there is to know about breeding cats. Before you breed your kitty, please read this!

The Cattery Business

Running a cattery and breeding cats is not a business. It is a hobby. If you are interested in breeding your purebred cat, it is important to realize that every penny that is made from the sale of a litter of kittens goes straight back into the operation costs of a cattery, and that does not include a salary for the breeder. If you are considering breeding your cat as a source of income, you should go straight to the veterinarian and have your feline spayed or neutered. It takes most breeders three to five years before they begin to break even financially.
Know Your Breed!

Before you ever consider breeding, you must first pick the right breed for your family. If you dont start with this very basic foundation, you will fail. One must know their breed well if they are to be a successful breeder. Not only must you live in harmony with your kitty, but you also have to know enough about your breed to pick out the perfect cats for your breeding program.

You have to know about color genetics, bone structure, what your breeds fur should look like, as well as often how their coat should feel. You have to know how to balance out the characteristics of your queen and stud cats so that your kittens produced will be the best of their breed that is always the goal! People who adopt your kittens will also rely on you for every detail about properly raising their cats, including health, temperament, grooming and more.
Where to Find and Purchase Breeding Cats

Once youve decided what feline breed you would enjoy raising, the next step is to find a breeder who will sell a cat with breeding rights. This is often difficult! Reputable breeders screen thoroughly before placing a cat into a breeding situation, and most will only place cats with experienced and established breeders. The price of a purebred cat with breeding rights is easily $1,000.00 or more! If you do not purchase breeding rights, you cannot register your kittens.
Setting Up a Cattery

The CFA offers suggestions on how to set up your cattery. This includes how much space you need, what equipment you will need to efficiently run your cattery, as well as great detail on cleanliness and care. A cattery can be set up in a spare bedroom in your home, but it has to be done properly and be kept immaculately. If you dont enjoy cleaning, trying to run a cattery is a bad idea. The CFA guidelines also recommend a certain female to male ratio to keep your cats happy and stress free. Also, in many states, there are more specific laws and regulations, including health inspections and state licenses.

Things to Consider BEFORE Starting a Cattery

If youve read this far and are still considering opening a cattery, here are a few things to think about:

* Running a cattery properly is a full-time job with no pay. Do you have 10 hours a day to devote to your cats?
* Breeding is an expensive hobby, and you may not recoup operating costs for 3-5 years. Can you afford the start-up costs?
* Breeders do not take vacations, and plans are often interrupted due to illness or births. Can you always be there for your cats?
* Cats often need expensive health care, up to $2500 in the case of an emergency C-section. Do you have this much in your savings account?
* There is always the possibility that your cat will die during labor. Are you willing to risk your cats life?
* You may not always be able to place every kitten in a home. Can you keep any kittens you cant place?
* Kittens die its just a fact that many do. Can you handle the death of a kitten?

Theres much more to consider and so much more involved in running a cattery, but these are the basics. Before you start a cattery, do your research, get involved in a breed club, find a mentor who will teach you about breeding, and search your heart and soul. You will be responsible for the life of every kitten you bring into the world, as well as to the family who adopted them. It is a huge responsibility!

first aparment, one bedroom w/ 2 people- how much money should I save up for furniture and other supplies?
Q. It's my boyfriend and I. It will be a relatively small apartment, about 500 a month.
what do you think?
covering basic furniture like a couch, bed, some kind of tv stand, a dresser, etc
towels, plates, etc etc
how much did you save?

A. First, ask any family or friends if they have any furniture tucked away somewhere that they thought they would one day use and really arn't going to.
My fiance and I got a dining room set and coffee table set from his parents.
My parents paid for a couch set as a house warming gift (cost from the brick - $1100 CDN)
Second ( do you not already have a bed?) i would assume yes, however you may each only have twin sized beds and would prefer a double/Queen.
If you buy a mattress set (box spring and mattress) you can usually get the set for about $600 CDN (Sears) and alot of places have a deal when you buy the Mattress set it comes with the frame (it will be a metal frame) (I personally prefer a wooden frame, but it is much more expensive and to my preference.)
For the little things (Cooking supplies, pots, pand, dinner ware, silver ware, toaster, kettle, coffee pot, etc) have a house warming party and on your invitations you can register somewhere or give everyone a hint as to what you need to make life a little easier in your new place.
Also go to some yard sales, people are always getting rid of old furnature etc. It may not be 100% appealing to you, but enough to start out with until you can afford what you like. Alot of people (who might me moving out of the country and cannot take all of their things with them) have a "house Sale" where they sell everything you see when you walk in the house (art, furnature, decor,) everything must go from these places, you can get some very nice things for very little because the seller whats whatever they can get because they cannot take it with them, If they do not sell it, the buyer of there house will inherit it when thy move in.
Also always have your next months bills saved for.
I.e. You rent is 500, utilities 250, food 300 anything else 250
Total 1300
When you pay in May make sure you have that 1300 saved for next month (June) and so on...
That way you will know a month ahead if you need to put a little extra away...
and you will always have the 1300 in case of an emergency
I would do the same for car insurance and loand payments and anything else you expense monthly

What are the first steps to planning a 30th birthday party for my husband?
Q.

A. Nothing says "Happy Birthday" quite like a high-spirited gathering of family and friends with plenty of food, drinks and entertainment.

Step 1: Set the Date
Before all things, set the date. Guests don't need advance notice about the venue or the menu for your party. What they do need to know is what date to block on their calendars.
Simple steps to setting the date:
Ask the birthday honoree what the ideal party date(s) might be.
Consult with any VIPS, such as friends or family, to make sure that they can attend.
Push the party date to a weekend night if the birthday falls on an inconvenient weeknight.
More people will be able to attend on a Friday night than on a Tuesday night. Guests will also be in better spirits on the weekend.
Pick a final date.

Step 2: Personalize the Party
Does your friend like to cut loose and dance all night long or would a classy cocktail and dinner party be a better fit? Think about what kind of celebration suits the birthday boy or girl's personality. Here are some popular party ideas:
Throw the type of party that your friend would like best:
Have a barbecue for your friend who loves to hang out outdoors in the afternoon. Fire up the grill!
Host a classy dinner party

Host a classy dinner party for your witty friend who adores good food and great wine.
Throw a dance party for the non-stop partier.
Pick a theme for your party
Choose from the classic party themes: a '60s or an '80s party, a luau or a casino party.
Customize a theme party for your imaginative friend: a bloody theme for the one who's obsessed with Dexter, a sexy theme for the Desperate Housewives junkie, or an American Idol-themed karaoke party.
Plan a special group gift.
Ask around to find out if there is anything that the birthday boy or girl is saving up for such as a vacation or a new bedroom set. If so, ask everyone to contribute to a monetary group gift.
Step 3: Invite Guests

Build the guest list

Guests make or break the party, so invite an interesting mix of people who know how to have a good time.
Decide how many guests the party location and budget can accommodate.
Make a list of the honoree's close friends and family.
Consult with the honoree to make sure you haven't missed anyone.
For additional guests, consider personality:
Invite people who will fuel conversation and burn up the dance floor.
Invite exciting new friends and interesting personalitiesanyone the birthday boy or girl has been hanging out with or talking about lately.
Don't invite drama queens or the birthday honoree's frenemies.
Gather contact information (including e-mails) for everyone on the list.
Check your list. Ask the honoree's friends to double check the list for missing VIPs.
Send Invitations
Whether you're sending paper invitations through the mail or an Evite, get the word out early because great party people are in high demand. Remember, the earlier you send out the invitations, the better your turnout will be.
Invitation Details:
Name of birthday boy or girl
Address and directions to party location
Date and time
Contact name and phone number
RSVP deadline
Additional instructions for gifting, BYOB requests, or plus ones

how to add awesomeness to my teen bedroom?
Q. Need inspiration, im a thirteen year old girl and like pretty much everything. just anything i could make for my bedroom.

A. When I was 15 I went through the stage of completely re-designing my small four wall room and I'm so glad I did because I love my room! First I chose the theme I'd be going for which is really girly! I have dark blue carpet but I did not let this bother me. So I painted three of my walls purple and added purple hearts as a border in the middle of each wall horizontally, and then one wall hot pink with black stencils ontop, it made my room so much more brighter! I then decorated most things in pink and purple to match the walls.. and having the furniture either white or silver to break away from all the colours. The paint was cheap for my walls, one large can of purple, one large can of hot pink and one small can of black. I got one of my family members to paint my walls and then my mother stenciled black patterns onto one of my walls so there was no cost in hiring a painter to paint my room!

I then bought new bed sheets and pillows in bright colours to make my room really bright and girly, and accessorised mainly in pink, purple and bright colours. Things like candles are cheap and look really good in your room, also a bonus that they smell really nice!

With your old furniture, you can still change it for a cheap price. I have all white furniture apart from the new silver queen size bed i bought and silver accesories around my room. What I did was kept my white dressing table with the mirror attatched but simply removed the original knobs that were on each drawer and bought silver round knobs which matched my bed, that was a great idea to do instead of the ugly little girl floral knobs I had on it originally!

Accesories with picture frames of your heroes or singers/actors that you like, and a few with your friends of course! All you will be paying for is a new bed, paint, new bed sheets and pillows, few candles and picture frames and you should be set!

Here's some photos of my room for inspiration and ideas, enjoy!

Should I haggle over this? opinions please!!!?

Q. Ashley furniture is having a sale
a 14 piece bedroom set is selling for 799 dollars which includes a queen size bed, a nightstand and dresser and mirror etc..
I called the store and ask if I can downgrade to a full size in they said yes.
Should I haggle the price since I'm getting a smaller bed?
What are your tips on haggling or do you have any experiences?
@ a hunch
It's not 14 pieces of furniture... My bedroom is quite small
8 of those pieces are the bed clothing
Another 2 are lamps
It only 4 pieces of furniture

A. I would do a little haggling since it's a smaller bed. You know when you're getting a deal sometimes they don't like to bargain with you.

How does walmart ship bedroom sets?

Q. I want to buy a bedroom set off of walmart and get it shipped to their store to pick it up now I was just wondering how is it shipped? is it all in pieces, are the boxes really big or how does it work? thank you.

A. Usually in pieces, and you have to assemble them yourself. But it comes with instructions, don't worry :) Make sure you use a car with enough room to get it home

Where are some good places to buy female furniture for the bedroom?
Q. I know the question may seem weird but I am a female and I want something artsy and youthful that looks right for a chic woman. I dont want to search online for "girl" furniture because I know I'll just get furniture for children. I went to ikea and saw a bedroom set that was okay but more of the young college student. Walmart and Target, I'm afraid will be under quality and a lot of the other stores I checked out online seem to be old looking. I am very picky but I was wondering if anyone knew a place, maybe they know a female between 20-27 and where they got their bedroom furniture. I would even take crazy styles. Im tired of seeing the usual bedroom sets. If you know other places for furniture for other parts of the home thats fine too. Those are easier to find. Its the stupid bedroom that I'm stuck with.

I might be sleeping on the couch for awhile.

A. ive used http://www.cheapbedroomfurniture.co quite alot for furniture great site

where can I find disney collection hannah montana bedroom furniture close to fresno, ca?

A. IKEA has all the new stuff.
or K-MART
Walmart

Know any good websites where I can find Cheap furniture?
Q. Walmart has some good deals but that's all I've found. I'm mainly looking for a bedroom set.

Is it worth it to hire professional movers for a small move or to do it yourself?

Q. My husband and I are moving from our duplex (much like the size of a large apartment) to a house in the immediate local area. We have the basics: living room set, dinning table, bedroom set (1), washer and dryer, and other small furniture peices (computer desk, etc). Is it worth it to hire professional movers or to do it ourselves. And what would be the typical cost for a small move?

A. Depends on how the professional moveers charge you - either by the hour or by the weight of things they are moving and the distance they are moving it.

I've moved twice in the past 12 years and did it both ways. With professional movers, you get people who know how to lift and move large items most effectively. They will know how to pack them and how to cushion them to prevent them from being damaged during the move - and have those items on their trucks. If you do it yourself, you will have to buy these items.

Movers that are paid by the hour will give you all manner of excuses for not being in a rush. In my first move, I was going across town into the boondocks from a downtown house. It was mostly interstate driving and they followed me. Never saw a truck go so slow in all my life! I kept trying to get them to at least do the speed limit of 55 and they kept falling back. They wouldn't go faster than 40 the whole way and then they would brake at every traffic light even while it was green. They gave me some sorry excuse that they had trouble with their brakes and wanted to be sure they could stop if the light changed - to avoid jostling my furniture.

Professional movers have some of the sorriest rules I have ever heard of. They wouldn't take a folding bed because it wasn't in a box. They wouldn't take my bikes because they weren't in a box. They wouldn't take a mattress because it wasn't in a box. They wouldn't take a western saddle becuase it wasn't in a box. You get the picture. And when I suggested they load up my dog house - you got it - had to be in a box.

The advantage of hiring professional movers is that it will save you from personal injury such as a back strain. It's common when people try to move furniture when they really aren't experienced with that kind of activity. But if they lose something or neglect to get all your things off the truck, you will play heck trying to get them to admit they made a mistake - much less recover your missing item.

The first time I moved, I wanted the professional movers to take the things that were too awkward for me to lift or put in my car - like my dog house, bikes and folding bed. We've already been down that road.

I wanted to save money. I knew how long it took to get from point A to point B. I hadn't counted on the moving company hiring slowest drivers in the galaxy.

If the movers take your stuff, they will call for aid and move all your things into a second truck to get your things to the destination, no matter what. If you are moving yourself and have a breakdown, you are on your own. Do you really want to leave all your possessions in the back of a truck while it is in the repair shop?

If you don't own a pickup truck but have a friend offering you the use of theirs, don't do it. Go to U-Haul or Ryder and rent one. What your friend isn't considering is that heavy and large furntiure can dent the bed or the side of the truck if it the item is even remotely off balance in the truck. The legs of furniture can scrape the paint right off the truck bed. And even though you might think that a truck is a truck, this is not the case. Do you really know what your furniture weighs and what the truck is capable of carrying - safely? Trust me on this - rent a truck designed to move furniture and household items.

On my second move - I went three states away. Professional movers were a necessary evil. No matter what the estimate was, be sure and have MORE on hand because they will always gouge you and then try to make some sorry excuse as to why it cost more than the estimate. And don't try to pay the extra with a traveler's check. You wouldn't believe how many movers have never heard of them and don't know what they are - much less accept them. I insisted they were all I had.

There is no typical cost for any move. It all depends on who you hire to do it and how they charge you. Some have a flat hourly rate while others have a flat rate for the estimated weight of the items you have - while others will take the truck to weigh station to get written documentation of the weight of the truck with all your things in it.

If you can get a local mover who never goes out of the state, go with that company. They want to be home for dinner and they will work faster than a national mover.

What colors and themes go well with oak and dark green?
Q. I am planning on moving into a pretty small apartment with my boyfriend and we're planning on using his bedroom set which includes a nightstand and two dressers. They are oak with a dark green finish on the top. I want our bedroom to still look open and light and somewhat feminine. Too many ideas out there for dark green would make the room a cave so I need some ideas to make it look like the perfect mix of man/woman without washing out the light and space. Any ideas?

A. The main thing you need to do is find bedding that lightens the dark green up. See if you like any of these:

I think I like the first one from Penney's best. It's not tooooo feminine but it will lighten up the space. If your boyfriend doesn't like what you choose, be sure to tell him that in order for you to be happy and relaxed in the bedroom, you need to decorate it and he does want you happy in the bedroom, doesn't he? LOL

Need decorating ideas for black bedroom furniture-please helpl?
Q. I have a small bedroom with a black bedroom set-queen bed, nightstand, dresser, and armoire. The walls are white with tan carpet. I went out and purchased a sateen black down comfort with a set of soft pink sheets but Im not sure Im going to be able to use it because there is just way way to much black. Can anyone suggest any ideas. Im just wanting a room that is pretty soft and romantic. I love the new furniture but I dont have any idea on how to decorate with it. Im not a "red" person, its never been one of my favorite colors. Any ideas on whether i should return the comforter and sheets and start over? I have no accents pieces yet so Im starting fresh.

A. pink works with black, tan works with pink, but I am not sure if you want to try all three. Maybe pull back on the pink to small items like alarm clock, bookends and such. Tan or white would be the best bet for the rest of the room. If you can paint, try a tan for 3 walls, leave 1 white and any trim white( paint is cheap and if you are renting be sure to ask first). You may want to use a throw blanket and some light decorative pillows on top of the bed to break up the black and try table runners or doylies on top of your cases. But if you are tight on money, Return the comforter and sheets to try something different.Maybe plain black and white will be pleasing, kinda go art-deco.

My wife found out about my one nightstand and now she is furious?
Q. Before we were dating, I had a small bedroom set and only one night stand instead of the usual two. I only had room in college for one. When I graduated, I sold it along with the rest of the stuff.

Now, she has found out about my one nightstand and is pizzed. I guess she thinks I should have kept it?

What would you do?

A. HAHA

You got me!

What do I need for my first home?

Q. Furniture, linens, pots & pans, everything.

What do I need for :

-Foyer/Hall
-Dining Room
-Kitchen
-Living Room
-Bathroom
-Master Bedroom
-two other bedrooms
-Two car garage
-Basement

Please be detailed, if you have a link to a website that would be great too !

God Bless xx

A. Start out basic and then you can add on.

If you don't have anything at all to start with but have unlimited resources financially, hire a decorator.

If not, find a comfortable bed you like, set of dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, throw rugs, sofa, reading chair, a few end tables, night stand, set of towels you like the color of, and then build on those. Curtains last.

Bedding depends upon the climate. Light blankets for warmer climates and down or wool quilts for winters where there is snow and possible power outages.

For outside there are two basics; a lawn mower and a garden hose.

You will figure out how much stuff you need and the sizes of beds and how much furniture can hold based upon the dimensions of each room. A large basket of towels may not fit in a master bathroom, but it can if the size is right and ease space in the linen storage area.

If you travel a lot it's much easier if you have no live plants or pets to take care of.

What is a good paint color for a bedroom?
Q. They have many colors to choose from these days any suggestions ??Looking not to dark and not to light in between color to add life to my room ...

A. It depends on what mood you wish to achieve for your bedroom. Different colors are said to have different effects on the human psychology. For more information, you might like to look up color psychology for this. Color psychology is a study concerned with the effects of color on mood, emotion, behavior.

Color is also often used to represent certain characteristics or image, depending on what the room is used for. Here are some ways colors are used, either psychologically or as a representation of certain ideas/image-building:-

Blue - calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. Some would say that a blue space feels cooler too!

Yellow - a bright color that is often described as cheery and warm. Ive read somewhere that a yellow room feels warmer somehow compared to a room with the same dimensions and temperature setting that is painted blue.

Red - a bright, warm color that evokes strong emotions. Deep Red or maroon is also often related to passion. Ive read somewhere that the color red and orange could help trigger hungry thoughts, and thats why many restaurants (especially fast food retails) use a lot of red in their decors and corporate logos.

Green - a cool color that symbolizes nature and the natural world. Some say its a good color for spiritual healing.

Pink - essentially a light red and is usually associated with love and romance. Its also often thought of as a color to express femininity

Purple - the symbol of royalty and wealth. A rich and luxurious color and rather overwhelming if applied to every plane of the bedroom walls especially if the room is small. You might like to use it only as a feature wall (like, where your beds headboard rests against) and have all the other walls in lighter or softer colors.

White represents purity or innocence. It also makes the room feel airier and bigger. Its also the most environmental-friendly color choice because it reflects light so you dont need to use that many lighting fixtures at one time or another.

Black is often associated with death and morning in many cultures. It is also associated with unhappiness, and even sexuality (masculine). On the other hand, black also represents formality, and sophistication. Imagine a combination of black and silver. Or black and gold.

Brown is a natural color that evokes a sense of strength and reliability. Personally, I wouldnt use brown paint for internal walls. Brownish wallpapers are okay or if I want a more natural feel to areas like the kitchen or living room, Ill just use natural stone cladding or timber paneling for the feature walls.

Whoa okay so I like talking about spatial treatment it's a part of my job! Sorry for rambling on so. Anyway, heres a website that could help derive the perfect paint color for you. http://www.dulux.co.uk/colours/experts/colour_consultant/index.jsp

Happy painting, Rita!

How much do I cut the laminate flooring planks?
Q. How do I measure the planks? How do I know how much to cut? Thanks- it's my first time

A. Step 1: Figure Out How Many Cartons of Planks You Will Need

Tivoli planks come in 15 spare foot cartons. To figure how many cartons you need to buy you will need to measure the dimensions of your room. Then multiply the length by the width. This will give you the square footage of your room. Next take this figure and multiply it by 1.1. This will give you a little lea way for matching and staggering your planks. Finally divide the last figure by 15. Then round this figure up to the next hole number. This is how many cartons you will need to buy to complete your project.

Step 2: Remove the Old Flooring

Removing the old flooring is an important step. You need to not only remove the carpet and pad, or tiles, but you also need to remove staples, nails and old adhesives. You will need a very smooth surface to lay your planks down on. Tools that make this job easier include: a claw foot hammer, a crow bar, needle nose pliers, staple remover and a flat head screwdriver.

Step 3: Prep the floor

Because these planks are pliable and not stiff like laminate flooring is, you need to make sure that your sub-floor is free of debris, dirt, nails and staples. Anything left on your floor is going to impact the look of your finished floor. After removing staples and nails, you will want to sweep the area clean. If there are adhesive residues left on the sub-floor sand it down so that it is smooth and flat. If there are nails that you can't remove pound them flush with the sub-floor. At this point you will also want to remove the baseboards and threshold barriers.

Step 4: Lay Down Your Planks

Now that the room is prepped you are ready to begin. I began in one corner of my kitchen and worked my way from left to right. To lay a plank down all you have to do is peel of the backing, set it down where you want it and apply pressure. The plank has its own adhesive so it will bond to the sub-floor without any extra glue. The second row will need to be staggered by a half plank. The easiest way to do this is to flip the plank over and measure to where the half way mark should be. Use a T-Square and a straight edged razor to score the plank. Then bend the plank and it will snap along the score line. Then peel the backing of one of the half planks and place it at the head of the second row. Complete that row. The third row will start with a full plank. Continue to rotate between full plank and half plank row starters.

Step 5: Mistakes and Gaps

After you have finished laying down your planks you will probably noticed that there are some gaps and spaces between your planks. Spaces can occur if you cut a plank unevenly, or if your floor is not even or level. If you have spaces don't worry. Simply buy a small jar of wood putty in a shade that is close to the color of your Tivoli planks. Then work the putty into the space and level them off. The putty will actually add to the beauty of your floors by making them look more authentic.

Step 6: Complete Your Project

The final step is to replace the threshold barriers and baseboards. This will complete the room and create a great looking kitchen, family room or bedroom. When everything is in place sweep the floor clean and wipe up extra wood putty with a damp cloth.

Can somebody explain to me in detail exactly what happened in Donnie Darko?
Q. The alternate reality thing, what happened?
Was it some kind of weird vision he had before he was killed by the plane crash?

A. PU = Primary Universe (The Universe we exist in now)
TU = Tangent Universe (The parallel Universe that most of the film is set in)

Time is usually a stable construct but every now and then the fourth dimension gets corrupted. When this happens it creates a TU which is highly unstable and will only last a few weeks before it collapses and destroys itself and the PU. This is what happens, there is a corruption in time and a jet engine falls through it. This has created a TU and the next 28 days is set in this alternate reality.

The ArtifactArtifacts are evidence that a TU has been created and are made from metal. In this case the Artifact is a giant jet engine. Its the Artifact that makes the Universe so unstable. The TU is supposed to be an exact copy of the PU but it has one anomaly, and extra duplicate jet engine. The only way to close the TU safely is to guide the Artifact back into the PU through a time portal. By removing the extra jet engine it balances out the Universe allowing the TU to collapse without destroying the PU.

Donnie is chosen as the Living Receiver. Its the Living Receivers role to guide the Artifact back to the PU. The Living Receiver is usually blessed with some supernatural powers during their time in the TU including increased strength, the ability to conjure fire and water and telekinesis.
He uses strength to bury the axe into the school water pipe and solid bronze mascot.
He uses fire to burn Jim Cunninghams house down
He floods the school and constructs a time portal from water.
He uses telekinesis to rip the jet engine off the plane to send it through the time portal.

FrankAnyone connected to the Living Receiver who dies in the TU becomes Manipulated Dead. These people are very powerful and have the ability to move through time and talk to the Living Receiver through a Fourth Dimensional Construct. Frank is killed in the TU and therefore becomes one of the Manipulated Dead. He travels back in time and helps Donnie with his quest to return the Artifact. The first thing he must do is save Donnie by waking him up before he gets squashed by the jet engine. He is like a reverse ghost who appears before he was killed.

All the people connected to the Living Receiver are the Manipulated Living and these people will subconsciously help guide the Living receiver. They will behave in the exact perfect way necessary to push Donnie toward his eventual destiny. Nearly every event in the film has a specific purpose designed to aid Donnie to save the Universe. The driving force behind there behaviour is God; Its actually a very religious film, the idea that you follow Gods channel to decide your own fate. God is moving all the characters around like pieces on a chessboard, making a sequence of events that will lead to Donnies success.

What all the Manipulated are trying to do is set an Ensurance Trap so Donnie has no choice but to send the Artifact back. Remember Donnie only meets and falls in love with Gretchen within the TU. This is part of the Trap, he is given someone to love then she dies the night they first have sex. He is so upset he shoots Frank. If he didnt kill Frank then Frank cant save him in the beginning. Now his girlfriend is dead and he is a killer on the run. Sending the engine back is the only way out for him even though it will end his own life.

TimestormAt the end of the film a timestorm starts to form as Donnie drives up the mountain. Its the beginning of the TU collapse and is centred over where it began, Donnies house. Donnie constructs a time portal from water and guides the engine through it. The TU now collapses safely and the PU starts back up from when it stopped, October 2nd. The last 28 days never happened and Donnie wakes up in his bed laughing. The jet engine Donnie sent through the time portal then falls into his bedroom killing him.

Even though the last 28 days never actually happened some of the Manipulated will be haunted in there dreams by there experiences within the TU. Frank touching his eye at the end is evidence of this. Jim Cunningham clears out his child pornography dungeon and shoots himself 10 days later, more evidence that he had some knowledge of what happened in the TU.
