Okay, so I'm re-decorating my room. And right now I'm REALLY into stars/moons/constelations and all that stuff! So were can i get a full as in size, set? The colors that would be the best is yellow and purple. Because i have 1 wall yellow and 1 wall purple, and two walls teal. and the trims are different on each wall. Like yellow wall purple trim etc.... and the trim on both teal walls are purple i know the teal doesn't really match but it's okay because I'm gonna re-paint it. But where can i get a bed set with stars, constelatinos, or moons on it?? Prefibly both and the colors purple or yellow. I'm gonna re-paint my teal. and the bedding size is full. oh and it would be nice if it was a set like comforter, pillows, and sheets and stuff matched. thanks! i would like to buy it online and it needs to be cheap.

Is $6,000 too much for a bedroom set?

I'm thinking about buying a bedroom set for my daughter. It includes a Full Bed, Armoire, End Table, Media Stand, Desk, Chair, and Dresser. Is $6,000 too much? Thanks for helping, I'm not good with deals.
It is from pottery barn. http://www.pbteen.com/shop/furniture-collections/chelsea-furniture/
I was planning on getting exactly what I listed.
My family is pretty good income wise. And I just don't know because I know I could find something cheaper but it looks really nice...? so confused.

Answer
People have gotten so used to places that sell a whole room for $999, that better furniture seems outrageous in price. Do not be deceived. You get what you pay for.

A $6000 bedroom should last you several generations. Just be sure it is wood and not cardboard or fiberboard in the hidden areas. Pottery Barn sells decent products. They are not going to end up in a museum, but they meet the needs and tastes of most people. Good, sturdy, well designed, contemporary, interesting. Go for it.

Should I cancel $6000 Pottery Barn Teen Order? Just found out furniture is made from MDF.?

Should I cancell $5500 Pottery Barn Teen order? Just found out it is not solid wood.?

I am redoing my 12 year old daughters bedroom. She is getting all new furniture and bedding. She loves a set from Pottery Barn Teen. The set was very expensive but I decided to make the purchase anyways because the sales person convinced me that it is well made and solid wood. The description says solid wood as well. After I told my neighbor about the purchase she told me that Pottery Barn is not worth the price and that I am being mislead about the quality. She said it is mostly made of MDF and that for the price I am paying I should look for better quality. After she told me that she showed me on the website that if you click on Dimensions and care and scroll down it does say that the furniture is made of hardwood, veneer and MDF. For the past few hours I have been looking online for a similar look that is solid wood but I cannot find anything similar. I would even pay a little more money for quality solid wood furniture. I usually try to buy high quality heirloom type furniture. I have very little experience with Pottery Barn but I have always been under the impression that they are top quality. Was I wrong?

Here is a link to the furniture we just ordered.
http://www.pbteen.com/shop/teen-rooms/girls-bedroom-furniture/envsb-coraline-paisley-room/

http://www.pbteen.com/products/chelsea-vanity/?pkey=e%7Cchelsea%2Bvanity%7C2%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C2&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

I ordered the bed, dresser, and vanity set. I also ordered some bedding and a few other things. I am considering canceling the order and trying to find someone local to make it for me. I would probly just have to buy the mirror and vanity/desk chair then. I don't want to go through all that trouble if this is good. Should I keep the set or cancel the order? Anyone know of a heirloom quality furniture company that has a style similar to the furniture in the link? Is MDF a bad thing?

Answer
You pay substantially more for Pottery Barn Teen furniture than it's actually worth. It's sort of like the Abercrombie & Fitch of furniture stores in the sense that you're paying more for a brand that is popular with teens than for the quality or originality of the product. I had several pieces when I was a preteen, and I loved some. Others were flimsy. My nightstand drawers could hold very little weight and got scratched up quickly. I switched to antique furniture made of solid wood when I was 13, and they are more durable. I did keep my PBTeen vanity and tall, revolving bookcase and now have them in the living room of my on-campus suite at college. They have held up fine. Most of the PBTeen pieces require assembly, which means that you can also disassemble them for better portability. Since they are made with MDF, they are lighter weight, which is also a perk if you're moving things around.

I would look for reviews of the specific pieces you ordered before deciding whether to cancel the order. Google the names and see if you can find feedback. Many online furniture retailers sell pieces that are made with MDF in China and shipped disassembled to the customer. Some are better quality than others. Whenever possible I think it's best to buy local, but depending on where you are, that might not afford you as many options. I would look into furniture shops in your home town that have a good reputation and see if there are styles your daughter likes in well-made pieces. Do your research on them. A lot of stores just sell the same cheap Coaster Furniture kinda of stuff that is still made with MDF. If you happen to be in the LA area I can recommend AFK Fine Furniture for Children, which also has pieces for preteens and teens. I have four younger siblings with rooms furnished by the store, and they're happy. As for bedding, PB Teen is fine. You can also look at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and even places like TJ Maxx, Target, and IKEA. They often have surprisingly cute options.

Your daughter has a nice eye for style. I hope all works out with her room.

Need a soft, comfortable bed set?

Aussie Lov

I'm redecorating my room to match my favorite color, green. The walls will be bright green and the carpet and ceiling white. I need a bed set that will match the room. I have a twin bed with three pillows. I want a over sized comforter to match the walls. Two of the three pillows should also be green, but the rest of the set (fitted sheets, sheets, pillow case, bed skirt ...)should be white. I would prefer the comforter to be light and fluffy. P;ease list any stores that carry anything similar to what I'm searching for. Thank You.

I am shopping for a bedroom set for my 11 year old daughter. Is $2100 a lotof money or a reasonable price?

Q. The set I picked was honey maple. It included a headboard, footboard, dresser/mirror, night table, and a chest.

Answer
It's a LOT of money. As a mother of 5, including 4 who are 12-20 I can guarantee you're spending money on something that won't be respected. I have beds that have been written on, nail polished, smeared with nail polish remover--which is also an amazing finish remover on furniture, spilt upon, etc. If your daughter were 10 years older and getting her first home I'd be all for it. But this is a kid. Kids have accidents. Accidents ruin furniture.

Go to a decent furniture store and get her a nice $999 set with a good pillowtop mattress. Put the other $1100 in the bank and save it for her college expenses. They'll be here soon enough. Get the nice furniture when she's old enough to appreciate it and when the style will be something she'll enjoy for many years...anything you buy now will be dated by the time she's out of college.

bedroom decoration ideas?

rise&shine

i'm tired of the look of my bedroom and willing to change something about it to make it more cheerful... conducive for study.. i'm 21.. it's a medium sized bedroom the colour of the walls are peach-ish cos the curtains and the wall cabinets in the room are peach in colour.. i've 2 layers of curtains.. the thick peach and the thin white.. i've a queen bed which is creamish.. i've a study table, it is a glass table.. a wooden chest and a book shelf in my room. the room looks really full with all these stuffs but they are also necessary..i don't want them but i don't know about throwing them either..basically the colours are boring me. i cant change the colour of the curtains..perhaps get rid of the thick peach curtain for more light.. and the bed as well cant be changed.. there are no posters in the room.. just a wall clock and nothing else.. oh yes, i have a table fan also.. what can i do to make my room more colourful.. spacious and so that i feel like sitting in it and study!!! ideas will be very much appreciated! thanks

Answer
To make your room look larger, neat and brighter arrange your room in separate areas, with lighting for each area and a lot of natural light.

Center your bed with the headboard against a large wall with a nightstand and lamp.
Set the chest at the foot of your bed.
Place your bookshelf on the opposite wall across from the footboard.
(unless it blocks a window)
Put your study table in a far corner.
You could get a footstool to put the fan on.

Is the thin white curtain a liner or sheer?

Cut a piece of fabric 2 inches larger than the cardboard.

Fabric panels
Cut two or three matching size rectangles about 12"x30" out of box cardboard or a sheet of styrofoam. <available home improvement stores
Make the hanger as above, add a layer of batting and wrap each with matching fabric and hang together on one wall or you could use wallpaper and glue to the back.
For thicker panels glue layers of cardboard together.

Where can you buy cheap bedroom sets?

cheerleade

I want to buy a new white bedroom set.. either online or in stores.. where would i be able to find cheap but cute bedroom sets?
Thanks

Answer
4pc Queen Size Platform Bedroom Set in Mahogany Finish is a nice dark wood with a shiny polish coating. The bed was very easy to put together and everything is relatively lightweight. The dresser is the heaviest piece at 116 lbs. The dresser itself is not very deep so is perfect for our smaller bedroom. So far we're very happy with this purchase and will think about buying the taller dresser that is sold separately later on. I gave it four stars because the quality does not seem as high and the durability not as great as something you might find at a pricier furniture store, but for what we needed and for the price this was a great buy.

Bedding set ideas for a pale yellow bedroom?

Mallie'sMo

Hi, my family and I are moving into a new house. The bedroom walls are pale yellow (which is fine because yellow is my favorite color!) and I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for what color bedding sets I could use. I like Zebra, but I can't find any yellow and zebra print bedding. Any suggestions? If you have a website where I could find one, that would be great. Thanks!:)

Answer
Zebra is a print that, I personally think, is better incorporated in smaller ways. The bedding in this room I designed is from Target.

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=29363039

Also, here's a tan zebra print bedding that is neutral enough to mix and match some nice bold colors without going overboard:

http://www.smartbargains.com/go.sb?pagename=prod&deptid=3&catid=124&cpncode=00-10570110-2&program=17649&isrw=4&srccode=cii_10043468&prodid=3038640442&aid=722

Another thing you could do is get zebra sheets. That way, when you make your bed you can fold it down so the sheets are revealed with a nice pop of pattern:

Ideas for decorating my bedroom?

Hey! So it's the holidays and I was thinking about taking a day or so to redecorate and design my room.
I'm into 70s and 80s hard rock/metal - Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc and I'm also a fan of the 60's hippie era so so any ideas for a 70s/80s music theme or a 60s boho/hippie theme would be great. I'm allowed to do anything to my room except paint it so yeah.
Any ideas?
Also if it helps, my room is quite small so I can't bring in huge items of furniture unfortunately..
Thanks in advance :)

Need decorating ideas for black bedroom furniture-please helpl?

tulsanurse

I have a small bedroom with a black bedroom set-queen bed, nightstand, dresser, and armoire. The walls are white with tan carpet. I went out and purchased a sateen black down comfort with a set of soft pink sheets but Im not sure Im going to be able to use it because there is just way way to much black. Can anyone suggest any ideas. Im just wanting a room that is pretty soft and romantic. I love the new furniture but I dont have any idea on how to decorate with it. Im not a "red" person, its never been one of my favorite colors. Any ideas on whether i should return the comforter and sheets and start over? I have no accents pieces yet so Im starting fresh.

Answer
pink works with black, tan works with pink, but I am not sure if you want to try all three. Maybe pull back on the pink to small items like alarm clock, bookends and such. Tan or white would be the best bet for the rest of the room. If you can paint, try a tan for 3 walls, leave 1 white and any trim white( paint is cheap and if you are renting be sure to ask first). You may want to use a throw blanket and some light decorative pillows on top of the bed to break up the black and try table runners or doylies on top of your cases. But if you are tight on money, Return the comforter and sheets to try something different.Maybe plain black and white will be pleasing, kinda go art-deco.

How should I set up my bedroom?

Lucas

Hello, I'm a 14 year old guy and I'm moving in a couple weeks. I already chose my room and it looks like it's kind of awkward.
It's about 16x12. When you walk in, you're on the longer walled side. In the farthest corner to the left, there's a window on the left wall of the corner, and a double window on the right wall of the corner.
Also when you walk in, the closet is directly to your left. (It's a walk-in)
Where should I put my bed? It's queen sized with a navy blue comforter and white sheets
What color the walls be? I'd like it to be dark grayish, would that match?
I have a bureau (which I may not need because there's a walk-in closet), TV, TV corner stand (with a bookcase), another TV stand but not a corner one nor with a bookcase, a desk, a nightstand, and a futon.
And is it normal to hang t-shirts on the wall? I mean, I have these old band t-shirts that don't fit anymore and I'd like to keep them for something. I don't have any posters at the moment but I look forward to buying some though. And by the way, all of my furniture is black.
Thanks

Black and Blue? Yes - decorate with bold colors - black sucks the life out of a room.. Grey walls, No - white or pale yellow!

Good deal, on this Bedroom set?

Sad Girl

http://www.aarons.com/p-493-horizon-youth-bedroom-group.aspx
I'm renting to own, this bedroom set. I'm getting the dresser/mirror, night stand, and head board. If I pay it off, before the 4 months. (same as cash) price, is $711. Is that a good deal? If not, how much do you guys think, this is worth? Thanks

Answer
You might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere. Rent-to-own shops generally don't get the best rates from the manufacturer, so their prices tend to trend higher than traditional furniture stores to make similar profit margins. That being said, without seeing the construction, quality, features, etc it is hard for me to say if the quality matches the price.

Bedroom redo help, please!?

Candy :)

I'm in my teens and we're redoing my room. I'm almost done except for the wall decal, bedspread and a desk for virtual school. The thing is I have a small room, but all the ones that are fine-good quality are too big for my room. I looked on ikea but the one that I wanted ( a book shelf desk combo) won't fit. I need a hutch combo for storage but the ones that I can find are over $300. I really need to find a good quality desk without it being too expensive, links or stores would be great.

Also, I need to find a twin sized bed spread because the one I planned on buying isn't sold in twin sized. The main color is a medium turquoise with accents of cream and brown. The theme is leaning towards nature, but not floral. And I would prefer it to be mature but fun. Sorry if that cuts out a lot, but I wanted it to last into my high-school years.

Thanks for your help!! :)

And if you have any other suggestions foraccessoriess, lighting, etc. that would be great!!

Answer
Nowadays, nature is the trend in decorating a room. Bamboo mixing up with bed pillows and wall prints or paintings that have leaf patterns or delicate plant designs will have a very natural effect. We can also provide shelter to tigers, zebras and lions in our room. Give them a space on our set of bedding prints and add a safari ambience in our bedroom, thus bringing natureâs great outdoors in.

For storage, why not put those things under your bed and buy bed skirts or dust ruffles to hide thing that you do not want seen? Try this site for your convenience:

Wii Online?

Adam S

I have a few questions about setting a Wii up for online use
1)What does it cost? I know that for the Xbox 360 you have to pay to go online and i was wondering if it was the same for the Wii.
2)Could I get on the internet and go to websites like myspace or could I get on AIM??
3)My computer is on the main floor but my Wii is up on the second floor in my bedroom what would i use in this situation to connect to the internet??

Answer
1. There are no extra charges for using the Wii online

2. You can acess anything on the Internet with the Internet channel (which cost $6 now I think) as long as it doesn't have too high of a flash player like some games. You can get the Internet channel at the Wii Shop channel under Wii Ware.

3. You can either purchase a router or the Nintendo Wifi USB thingy. The USB is cheaper but you need to keep your computer on if you want a connection.

okay fine it costs $5

Answer
Check out Bloor St. I have seen a black bedroom set and was actually inquiring about it but never did buy it.
As far as the exact location, sorry. I just know it was next to a computer store.

Trying to buy a high quality bedroom set. Many choices out there. Does anyone have ideas of the best manufacturers to target?

Planning to spend in the $5000-8500 range. Hopefully on the lower end of that. Is that reasonable for a king bed, 2 nightstands, dresser, and chest?

I want a new bedroom set for a teen. I want it to be cool and cheap. I like a lot of the PB teen ones but they are very expensive. I would like a bed and maybe with storage and a desk and a dresser if needed. I have a small room and lots of stuff so I need to be able to fit it. Do you know of any websites that have good teen furniture?
