To move out or not to move out?

Q. I currently live with my boyfriend of 3years and 10 months... I was looking for a place to live and he offered me to move in with his mom, so I don't have to pay rent. This happened after a year of dating. He lived in Sacramento... After 5 months he came back without notice and began living together. Now that he was back and after a few months, I wanted us to move out. I finally found a place...(it was his mom, his somewhat disable brother of 28 years old, my 5 year old daughter and us living in this 3 bedroom home, where my daughter sleeps in our room.) This is a different story regarding his family, but somehow it has something to do with me wanting to move out⦠He loves me and I love him, but I don't want to live with him anymore. I'm just afraid I will leave someone who is the one. I don't want to break up. I just don't want to live with him. I'm at the point where I have nothing else to give him and he has just begun to do anything for me and has talked about marriage. He wants to do anything for me at any cost, I feel smothered, I am way past that stage. I'm thinking about my future and my daughters, and not so much him anymore. I've tried talking to him about our goals we should set and just a week or two ago he wants to grow a relationship with my daughter, wants us to save, wants me to help him save, wants to share all his feelings and how much money he brings in and what he owes. Basically, he wants me in his life and wants to share it with me. It was an eye opener because he knows every single little thing about me and after so long he now wants to let me in his world. (in his mind, my money, my child, my life and everything around me is His. His kids, his money, his life and everything around him are his and Not mine.)....
What it really comes down to, I can't make up my mind if I should move on without him? Or Stay, everything is changing and itâs on my favor what happens next? ...
All I wanted was to start a family, just us 3. But now he just wants to begin a relationship with my daughter.... I have my mind confused. Is it really worth losing someone you love over something that can gradually change?
It's hard to tell him I love him. I'm disappointed, I can't believe I wasn't looking out for my child and myself and just concerned about my boyfriend....
I use to live with my boyfriends mother. I found a place for only us, She tagged along. This is my house, My name is on the lease, I have money saved. She just moved out a week ago. But the brother doesn't want to leave. But he isn't staying at my house. He is out in the street. They want to blame me for it.

Many people are told to save money and power by using flourescent lights and yet the Capital building in Sacramento,CA. won't change their lighting to flourescent. What's up with that? I believe that gigantic companies may make a difference by turning off power. But I am in a small three bedroom house. Hardly will make a difference. I see these gigantic companies, Casinos, etc. with their lights on around the clock. It would be great if they participated more often.

The Home Depot has a Disney line of paint, made by Behr I think. It has specific color schemes for the Disney princesses which should make it easy to coordinate with the room. There are lots of shades of lilac and pink you could play with. We painted my daughter's desk with Wave of the Wand which is a cool mauvey color. Even the shades of blue like Cinderella Glass Slipper/ Bibbidi Bobbidi Blue or green like Tinkerbell could look really great too.

You probably dont want to paint it lilac or pin because it be kind of overbearing with the rest of the room so Id repaint it a low gloss white and edge it in either lilac or pink or find a way to incorporate the lilac/pink into it like little daisies or small crowns

How much does it cost to ship apartment furniture across country by rail?

Looking to ship a bedroom set, coffee table, entertainment stand and a few small boxes across the country from PA to CA. Truck rentals are north of $1500, companies like PODS and so on are way too expensive. I am curious as to how much it could cost shipping via rail instead. Can't really find too much on pricing.

The days when the railroads shipped small lots (called LCL=less than carload) ended by 1960. Most freight now is carried in multiple car lots under contract. The charges for a single sixty-foot long box car would undoubtedly be more than truck rate and you would have to find a rail siding at origin and destination that would allow loading and unloading for a one-time shipper. Your best bet, outside moving companies, is to look at containers. Contact local freight forwarders and check on rates for renting and shipping a container. Best bet might be to contact PODS (see info below under What's your source?) which provides smaller containers and will also store them until you are ready to unload. They are also used to dealing with domestic consumers on single shipments, while a lot of freight forwarders are business oriented and won't do much to get a one-time shipment. While you may think companies rates are expensive, consider their equipment, fuel, labor and insurance costs. Unless you can find an independent trucker (gypsy) who has already made his money hauling a load from CA to PA and is back-hauling your load to avoid returning empty and therefore willing to give you a cheap price, you will probably not find a bargain rate. Consider selling or donating the furniture locally and replacing it at your new locale, and shipping the few boxes by US Postal Service (before their rates go up to UPS/Fedex levels or they go broke).

I wouldn't go with a theme, I would make it colorful, like paint the walls and have neutral curtains and light fixtures but I would be sure that they each had a shelf or some kind of storage to call their own that they can have their things on. I would keep the bedspreads the same color but put pillows and little touches that are different on the beds. For example, a red ladybug pillow for her and a red car pillow for him. The ideas are endless in my head right now. I'm sure you'll come up with something great and they'll love it. Take care.

a rich red/orange wall accent with a nice earth tone brown will go nice on the walls to accent the furniture and beddings ... try imaging the walls in two tone colors.

My friend just move into her new house, and in one of the rooms had similar specs as your's, that's what she did and it looked great, i'm sorry I don't have pictures though...

I have a small bedroom with a black bedroom set-queen bed, nightstand, dresser, and armoire. The walls are white with tan carpet. I went out and purchased a sateen black down comfort with a set of soft pink sheets but Im not sure Im going to be able to use it because there is just way way to much black. Can anyone suggest any ideas. Im just wanting a room that is pretty soft and romantic. I love the new furniture but I dont have any idea on how to decorate with it. Im not a "red" person, its never been one of my favorite colors. Any ideas on whether i should return the comforter and sheets and start over? I have no accents pieces yet so Im starting fresh.

pink works with black, tan works with pink, but I am not sure if you want to try all three. Maybe pull back on the pink to small items like alarm clock, bookends and such. Tan or white would be the best bet for the rest of the room. If you can paint, try a tan for 3 walls, leave 1 white and any trim white( paint is cheap and if you are renting be sure to ask first).You may want to use a throw blanket and some light decorative pillows on top of the bed to break up the black and try table runners or doylies on top of your cases. But if you are tight on money, Return the comforter and sheets to try something different.Maybe plain black and white will be pleasing, kinda go art-deco.

Anyone have any tips on how to give an uncooperative cat his medicine?

Q. I need to give these small pills to my cat for about a week because he has a cold. anyway its the second day and it was really hard trying to give him the pills because he either shuts his mouth tight or spits out the pill. any tips?

1. Pick up the cat and cradle it in the crook of your left arm
as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either
side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while
holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth, pop pill into mouth.
Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

2. Retrieve pill from floor and cat from under chair. Cradle cat
in left arm and repeat process.

3. Retrieve cat from bedroom and throw soggy pill away.

4. Take a new pill from foil wrap. Cradle cat in left arm holding
rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill
to back of mouth with right forefinger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

5. Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top
of wardrobe. Call spouse in from garden.

6. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between the knees. Holding
front and rear paws, ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get spouse
to hold cat's head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler
into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

7. Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from foil wrap.
Make a note to buy a new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully
sweep shattered figurines from hearth and set aside for gluing later.

8. Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie on cat with it's head
just visible from beneath spouse's armpit. Put pill in end of drinking
straw, force cat's mouth open with pencil and blow down straw.

9. Check label to make sure that pill is not harmful to humans. Drink
glass of water to take taste away. Apply band-aid to spouse's forearm
and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap.

10.Retrieve cat from neighbor's shed. Get another pill. Place cat in
cupboard and close door onto neck to leave head showing. Force
mouth open with spoon, flick pill down throat with elastic band.

11. Fetch screwdriver from garage and put door back on hinges. Apply
cold compress to cheek and check records for last tetanus shot.
throw t-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom.

12. Call the fire department to retrieve cat from tree across the road.
Apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid
cat. Take last pill from foil wrap.

13. Tie cat's front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly
to leg of dining room table. Find heavy duty pruning gloves from garage.
Force cat's mouth open with small trowel. Push pill into mouth followed}
by large piece of fillet steak. Hold head vertically and pour 1/2 pint
of water down throat to wash pill down.

14. Get spouse to drive you to emergency room. Sit quietly
while doctor stitches finger and forearm and removes pill remnants
from right eye. Stop by furniture store on the way home to order
a new table.

15. Arrange for vet to make housecall.

I have been doing this routine from past few months, i have lost 15Ibs and gain muscles. I have shard this info with couple of friends they have tired it and few ppl on yahoo have tired it and lost about 2 pounds each week. If you able to lose about 2 Ibs per week (THAT IS 8Ibs PER MONTH = 40iBS IN 5 MONTHS) AND you will be very close to your goal. You will be done before your time so here we go!

I know this is long reply. But please take your time and read this. I know this work.

Water is very good for you and specially if you're on diet and if you're working out-water is very good and keeps you hydrated.
I don't believe in pills or any weight loss shakes-they are bogus and lame and are temporally and have many side effects.

First loose the soda, cut down on pizza and fast food.
If you like fires make 'em at home in oven. They come out very yummy and oil free.

Key is to eat small portions 5 times a day.
Morning: boiled eggs, corn flakes, fat free milk, if you want to fry eggs loose the yolk and eat the white part.
Morning snack around 10:30am-11am: a piece of fruit / 2 cups of veggie/ salad
Lunch: Turkey / Chicken lunchmeat with whole grain or wheat bread.
1 Cup of veggies.
Mid day snack (around 2:30pm or so) a piece of fruit or health bar.
Dinner: Grill fish with veggies / brown rice with beans/ wheat pasta with grill chicken.
9pm snack (optional-only if you feel lil hungry 2 hours before your sleep time) have yogurt.

The key is to loose red meat and pork and add more wheat products to your diet. Drink lots of water. As you can read i did not talk about any sweet products. Sweet only from fruits no cookies no cake no brownies.None of that. Sweet things have more and load and calories. Take your protein because you would need that protein for your work out.


Cardio every day only 30-40 min of cardio. Jog-run, fast walk, bike, swim, dance, stair climbing any of these cardio will be great! just choose one method and stick to it. Or you can do 25 min of biking and 15 min of treadmill. Or just go for Jog.

About 100-200 crunches every other day.
100 crunches in morning
100 crunches at night time

For hips, behind and thighs one thing SQUATS and LUNGES helps a lot!
SQUATS are hard to do in start but once you get use to of it, no problem
for butt is "BUTT BLASTER" EXERCISE. You can do it in your bedroom. To see how to perform those exercises, you can go image google put the key word and check out the pics and that will give you idea on how to perform those exercises. All the exercises i told you, you can do it in your bedroom, no need to go to gym or buy any equipment.

Start by doing 3 sets of 15 each.

Believe me you will see results within a month.
I have told other people too, this entire veggies and fruit intake will make you very regular and you will make about 4 trips to the bathroom, so be prepare.

I would like to say IKEA but there are just some items there that are not sturdy like bookshelves and some tables...some items was bought at IKEA.

This family lives next door to me and they are wonderful caring people. Anytime someone else is in need they are the first ones to help. Yesterday all of the bedrooms in their house were destroyed by fire, water and smoke damage. They have called the Red Cross but there is only so much that they can do. The family has two small children and they are in need of clothing and the family really needs some help getting the house fixed. Try to raise awareness in the community. It sounds like these are great people so it shouldnt take much to get some people to contribute a little here and there. You would be surprised how generous people can be. Just start calling around or try to set up a fundraiser so the family can have some of the basics they need right now. If you live in a city that has a subdivision of "Craigslist", which in NY is newyork.craigslist.com (check www.craigslist.com ) and then go to the rightside of that main page to see if your city is listed. If so, click on that city, and then enter in your listing under "homes for sale".

Put in as much information as you can. Put in pictures on the ad. Have an open house on a sunday from say 1:00 - 2:30 PM. Make sure you get everyone's phone # and e-mail address before they leave your home! Make sure you find out what the buyer wants before they come to your home! If they're looking for a 3-bedroom thats 1200 square feet and a 2-car garage, and you have a 4-bedroom that is 1500 square feet, with no garage, tell them this, so that you won't waste you rtime and theirs.

To get a price in mind to sell your home at, go to www.realtor.com and enter in your city's info, and search for similar homes. Price your home accordingly.

When you get offers, find out what % they can put down, when they can close, and how much they make, and where they live now and how much they pay.

Consider all offers, because someone that offers less than you're looking for, but can put down 20% is much more likely to get a loan than someone that offers a higher price but can only put down 3% or so.

After you get that all set, or even before, look for an attorney to do the paperwork for you. Very simple. So, you do NOT need a realtor to help you!! I've sold 2 of my homes this way, and saved obviously a bundle.

...for the software, computer, and the additional things needed to make a bedroom into a recording studio?

It's going to depend a lot on what you're going to be recording. If you're going to produce all the sounds on the computer, you'll need a really fast computer, sequencing software, and software sound modules that you install on your hard drive that produce the actual sounds. Figure $2000 for the computer, $400 for the sequencing software, and about $500 for the sounds.

If you're looking to record keyboards onto the computer, you won't need the sound module, but you will need some way to get the keyboard sounds into the computer. If you're lucky, and you only want to record one keyboard, if it has a USB port on the back, you can plug it directly into the computer. If it doesn't, or if you want to record multiple instruments at the same time, you'll need a mixing board. You can get one for as little as $30 or $40, but it's going to be very limited in what you can do, and you'll quickly outgrow it. It's my experience that mixers with knobs to control the volume are a PITA. Plan on spending at least $150 for a mixer with volume sliders, called "faders". When you get a mixer, look at getting one with "phantom power" (I'll explain in a moment). If the mixer comes with built-in effect, that's even better--nothing makes a recording sound flat and amateur more than having a completely "dry" (no effects at all) sound. Also look and see what extras are packaged with the mixer. You might find that you can buy a $400 mixer, and it comes bundled with sequencing software, so it ends up saving you money. Throw in a C-note or so for cables, and we're looking at a minimum of $2500 for computer, mixer and cables. This assumes you have (or can borrow) the keyboards.

If you want to add guitars into things, some people have had luck doing "direct injection", where the output of the amp is plugged directly into the mixer. If that just doesn't work for you, you'll need to buy at least one microphone, a mic stand, and a cable. A "middle of the road" dynamic mic with stand and cable would add about $100 to the cost, so now, we're looking at $2600.

If you want to add vocals, unless your vocalist is a screamer, you'd probably want a "condenser" microphone. They're much more responsive to subtle changes in the sound, do make the vocalist sound better. Condenser mics generally require phantom power, so even if you're not doing vocals right now, it's nice to have it in the mixer for when you want it If you know exactly what you're looking for, and catch a sale, a reasonable condenser can be bought for $100, but usually $200 or so will get you a better sounding microphone. Add in a stand, "pop filter" (really necessary for vocals), cables and maybe a "shock mount" for the mic (if it doesn't come with one) and you're probably looking at $300, so that would bring your total up to $2900. Warning: Condenser mics get very expensive very quickly--it's not unusual for professional recording studios to have mics that are $3000 to $4000. Each. I happened to inherit a couple of vintage Neumanns from my father that are actually worth more than my car, and are kept safely tucked away in a safety deposit box.

So we're at $2900. You'll also need stands for the keyboards and mixer--if you need one of each, that's about another $125. Tack on a hundred dollars or so for odds and ends--you might need a music stand, cable ties, etc.

That sounds like just over $3100 if you wanted to set up a home recording studio that would do all the basic stuff you need.

Production - The show you are critiquing. The "play" is only the script, while the "production" is all attributes of the show: The acting, the set, the lights, where actors move, how they say the words, costumes, etc. For example, if you saw your local theatre misinterpret Hamlet you could sat that you saw a really bad production of a really good play. They play, Hamlet, is good, but the acting, sets, etc. were awful. When you are critiquing a production you are looking at all of the aspects aside from the script in how they relate to the script.

Production Concept - Largely determined by the director and then complimented by the designers and influenced by the actors, the "production concept" is how the script is interpreted. For example, if you are doing Hamlet and decide to set it in outer space. The decision to set it in outer space is part of the production concept. When you are critiquing the production concept, you are evaluating the decisions made by the artists that are not specifically given in the script. A script may say that the play takes place in a bedroom. However, someone has to decide what color the walls are and why. That's all production concept (and since a designer makes that particular decision it is also part of his/her "design concept".)

What's a good hotel to stay at while in Paris for a budget of 100-150 euros a night?

Is this a realistic price range for decent accomodation (meaning 1 bedroom with private bathroom and housekeeping service, a view of the city perhaps, all with slightly premium touches)

â¬100 to â¬150 would be a good budget for a budget hotel, but you are asking a bit too much, unless you mean â¬100 each.

Go to one of the many hotel and hostel search sites, (they all do cheap hotels too) and check what is available, and also check the reviews. Not just the star rating of the reviews but the actual written texts, as you can than judge whether you will find the hotel acceptable.

Paris is huge, has many hotels but it also has many visitors so each hotel can set its own prices as customers will come.

Does anyone know about antique tables? Davis Birely Table Co?

Hello all,

I have an octagon shaped table with beveled legs made by Davis Birely Table Co.. It's about 3 ft tall and 28 inches in diameter. I don't know what type of wood it is. It was my grandmothers so it's probable from the first quarter of the 1900's
I can't find anything online.

Davis Birely Table Company was previously known as "Ey&Birely Table Co", a sometimes referred to "Conrey&Bireley Table Co"; the company was located in Indiana, Shelbyville.

Little is known about the company but they did hold numerous auctions (Furniture auctions) during the early 20th century; It is believed they were quite a well known company at the time and lots of people went there for furniture - A firm in London ordered a total of 1500 tables in 1898. I would say that your table dates to the early 20th century, seeing as during the late 1800's the company was still called Conrey&Bireley and they changed their name in 1909 to Davis-Birely. The company got most of their design inspiration from English and Italian furniture designs and thus their furniture is a beautiful mix of both styles.

I actually think your table is part of a bedroom set (A bedside table, perhaps, due to the dimensions you've given). Davis-Birely were famous for selling their furniture in sets which normally includes a desk, desk chair, bench, magazine rack, bedside table and a dressing table piece with mirror. You can actually find a fair amount of original advertisements for these sets being sold in Ebay.

It's difficult to tell the type of wood used without a picture, but it is most likely made from mahogany (A lovely rich brown colour with a hint of red, almost a similar colour to horse chestnuts) seeing as it was popular wood both with that company and other furniture companies of that time.

The table that you're describing can get between £30-£250 ($50-$400) depending on who you sell it to and the table's condition. If you do sell it in the future I would advise that you sell it to a specialised furniture dealer instead of putting it into an auction due to the maker, only specialised people would know about the company and appreciate amount of work that's gone into it.

However, if you want to keep the table I would advise you keep it out of direct sunlight which can be damaging to antique wood. You also need to be careful with the amount of moisture it's subject too, too much moisture can cause the glue to weaken and can lead to mold and insect infestation. Also, don't use modern furniture polish on it as it can degrade the finish of the wood, instead, just wipe a damp cloth over the surface and that's all you need to do.

First of all you need to define your style a bit. The curtains and spread should blend not necessarily match. As long as you also blend elements in the room. For instance.

My nightgown was plastered to my skin like Saran wrap. Ivan lay sleeping on the floor in an army sleeping bag, snoring softly. I swung my legs over the edge of my bed and walked towards my door, careful not to wake Ivan.

I followed the young girlâs whispers down the hall and to Loretta and Josephineâs bedroom at the very end of the hall. The door was cracked an inch, leaking a sliver of dim light. As I pushed the door open with my fingertips, I held my breath. Hearing a woman humming a lullaby, I froze as I listened more intently. The woman sometimes mumbled the words to the song under her breath in a voice that was angelic.
A sudden gust of air from behind me blew open the door. The air dried the sweat on my back and neck. The pit of my stomach dropped as the door opened. I attempted to swallow the lump in my throat and let out a shuddering breath. I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them to see the colorful afterimage of a woman with platinum blonde hair.
âHello, Lorelle,â the woman said as she perched on the windowsill with feline agility. Her smile was heartless as she giggled intensely. With a wave of her hand, she closed the door and hopped down from her roost. âDo you know who I am?â She waited for a moment and when I didnât answer, she went on. âIâm your worst nightmareâ¦the shadows, the dark, arachnids. Her hands were cold as ice and slimy. She leaned in close â so close that I could feel her hot, clammy breath on my cheek. I leaned back, scrunching my face in disgust. Taking quick, shallow breaths, I heard a commotion downstairs.
âDemonsâ¦â I said under my breath.
âIf only it were that simple, poor, stupid Lorelle.â She smiled ruthlessly as dug her nails into my skin, drawing blood.
I could feel the hot, sticky streams running down my cheek and onto my stark-white nightgown. Lavinaâs eyes became glassy, focusing only on the red streaks. She released me slowly and relaxed, her canines appearing under her lips. Running her tongue over her lips, she let out a soft purr deep in her throat. Her eyes were ice-blue and her pupils were pin-point. Lavina brushed the hair from my face as her eyes rolled back in her head. Seemingly out of control, she stuck her tongue out and licked my face from my chin to my cheekbone.
Her saliva burned an icy pain in my cheek, almost singing in the skin. Lavina threw her head back and let out a howl, shaking my shoulders.

I shot up in bed, soaked with sweat and breathing heavily.
âLorelle, Lorelle, Lorelleâ¦â Ivan said as he shook my shoulders. âWake up!â His face was scrunched with worry, just inches from my face. When he saw that I was awake, his tense shoulders fell, relieved. âAre you alright?â
âWhat time is it?â I asked, closing my eyes again and rubbing my forehead.
âItâs two-thirty in the morning,â Ivan said as he glanced at wristwatch. âDid you have a nightmare?â
Nodding, I leaned back against my pillow and opened my eyes. âSorry. Did you I wake you?â I pursed my lips and arched an eyebrow as he shook his head no. âYou sure?â My voice was skeptical.

Main character's name is Lorelle, which is pronounced the same as Laurell. I like your writing a lot, but consider changing the main characters name. I am sure this in coincidence, but in one of Laurell K. Hamilton's novels, a villian invades the dreams of her main character causing her to have nightmares, and the setting is very similar. I don't think you should worry about it, because it's unlikely anyone else will notice the similarities if the rest of the story is not about vampires, but the name of the character can't be the name of an author who's writing style is similar to yours or people will think something is up.

You captured the essence of her fear well, and it compels me to read on. Good work.

I am 14 years old and want to move into my guestbedroom that has fake, white-wash wood floors and lavender walls. I don't plan on changing any of that because I like the way it looks. You might also consider a rich cream or slightly golden color. Sage also looks nice with lavender. Chocolate looks great.

Usually it is best to find an inspiration piece and decorate around that piece.

Remember you can buy Saris and sew them together to make bedcovers, pillows, table cloths, throws, wall hangings etc... Many times this is cheaper than actually buying those items

Make sure if you decide to buy a Sari to use, you buy the largest size available (More material!) Also remember you can sew the Sari material to a cheaper solid material that will coordinate with the colors in the Sari. Same look, just cheaper!

Recently diagnosed for Scabies... Need A LOT of questions answered?

My family and I just moved into a new apartment about a month ago. Its on the third floor, the highest level with cathedral ceilings. The apartment was in shambles before we moved in, but renovation was done for months. Practically everything has been replaced and cleaned and remodeled and repainted. Before moving here we lived in a house. No problems with scabies. Ever. We had issues with bed bugs, but that was under control with mattress covers and all the needed cleaning. And that's a past issue anyways. I started a new school in August of 2012. Never had any issues. We moved to a new building and have been there since Christmas or shorty after. No issues. Randomly, I start getting red bumps all over my body. I had them on my face, one side of my chest, my stomach, back, butt, and right thigh. I thought I was getting chicken pox because of headaches and sneezing, possibly could be flu like symptoms. Went to the doctor the day after spotting the bumps. They tell me I have Scabies? I am overly clean, and a germ - a - Phoebe... On serious levels. So, I figure that's fine, I will take care of the issue. Well. I read all this research after getting back and treating myself with the ointment and washing my sheets and comforters and laundry for that week. Loosely vacuuming the apartment. I see that this is practically like bed bugs. Infesting in your bed, getting all over furniture, and I am sitting here like the doctors did not make this seem like a big deal. Now I am wondering if as soon as I go in the shower and wash all this medication off am I just going to get reinfected as soon as I lay in my bed or put on some clothes. And now my mind is going and I am freaking out, is this problem going to manifest into my entire home and car. I cannot return to school until its gone. Then again I have no idea what kind of Scabies it is, and how I got it. From hugging friends? From sitting around at school? I mean I would have had this months ago if that was the case. My dad thinks maybe I have Scabies from birds or bats. Above our kitchen window which is directly next to my bedroom window there is an open vent and we think that birds and possibly even bats are nesting in it. I leave my bedroom window open all night and that's been the case for a few days. Could them loitering around my windows be the cause. Yet, the doctor makes it seem like I have been being nested on for like a month or so now. Because that's how long it takes for eggs to be planted and hatched. I am just really confused and stressed out. I have a baby sister as well. I am worried about her. And I am worried this medication is not going to work and just be vain effort. I just need answers. And possible quick fixes because I am not trying to miss tons of school and work over something that I don't even know where it came from. And my family is not itching or having any problems with this. Yet at least. But if I have had this long enough it should have made contact with them as well because I am everywhere in the apartment. And Scabies is suppose to itch violently, especially at night. Mine does not itch and if it does it barely did. And the bumps started like two three days ago on my face, I though it was a breakout. Which was crazy because normally I never get acne unless one or two on my chin. Then I take a shower the next day and have bumps over half my body. Then throughout the course of the day they progressively get worse. I was sweating terribly because it was hot and I am running around trying to clean everything. I applied the medication last night and am about to get into the shower, the bumps almost completely disappeared on my breasts and face, but are still quite noticeable on my leg and stomach. And now I am stressing out and itching all over because I feel like I have bugs crawling on me because I am freaking out! Please HELP me people!

There are no "quick-fixes" with such parasites.

Research, research research is the first step. And you are starting out fine.

Discipline, discipline, discipline is the first, during, and after step.

An important part is to find the source, but as my job wants volume, volume, volume, I don't have time to do such. However, I have found craigslist et.al. to be a wonderful source of pest travel plans. I recommend heating all items that was obtained from other homes in the garage/storage shed before entering the home.
Bugs such as this live in cracks and crooks that are impossible to see. Then they come out during feeding times. This means they survive where other of their kind get sprayed.

I have a really cheap way of getting rid of bugs too. I use isopropyll alchohol on bugs. This kills them believe it or not. Soak the area with it (70 or 90% is irrelavent.) This does not damage the area (they get rid of the India Meal Moth in mid-air from your kitchen--those tiny moths you find there that come in your flour and rice packets/bags). I also use a 50/50 solution of Simple Green and Bleach. This kills you as it creates fosgene gas so wearing a simple/your painters mask will protect you (but an open window will work just as well--use in a well ventilated area during application). This damages every material, so place/use it carefully on non-bleachable areas (bathroom/kitchen/white carpets.) Thirdly, for bedbugs and roaches and every other insect invading my house, I use a Top Hat space heater to heat the room to 120 degrees for 15 minutes over the weekend as I get a free Sunday charge and I kill the adults on the first day, the lucky adults and freshly hatched nymphs on the second day, and repeat for the extra-lucky the third day. Make sure you have it off the carpet--I use cinder blocks. Box fans are necessary as this heat threatens ceiling fan replacement. The box fans cool the target it is aimed at and still allows the bugs in it to be killed (The box fans may be casulaties of the heat as well, so prepare for replacing them.) The fans also direct the 120° into closets, under beds/dressers, and you get the drift. Use oven thermometers to gauge your success.
Of course, have fire insurance and put the propane tank OUTSIDE the window! I have been doing this for a while. You can imagine what environments I have to work in as pest combatant. I have chemicals not available to the public, so I am not mentioning that part, however, diatomaceous earth (DE) is wonderful, long-lasting powder that sticks to their exoskeletons and dries them up. Remember, bugs need water constantly. I use the heaters to turn the room into a dryer, but they are not necessary with scabies. I just threw that in for others who happen to be reading this.
For mattresses during or can't replace them, I recommend a bed-bug quality mattress bag. This is a tight, isolating bag that doesn't necessarily kill the bugs (bedbugs can survive 18 months without food), but allows you to sleep safely while you are treating your home or until you can afford to replace it.

The creepy/crawly feeling has always been with you. You're just hyper-aware at this time. You will get over it over time.âº

As I said above, there are no quick-fixes. However, fresh sheets, fresh dryer clothes, mattress bag, taking the vacuum bag to the dumpster daily, research and discipline will allow you to go back to school within the next day or two.

As for the medication, use as prescribed with, again, large amounts of discipline.

Two strong notes. Bugs NEED water constantly. The 120° dryer/heat source is key as well as 130° water. However, 110° can be as effective -- just apply for an hour instead of 15 minutes; this allows for things that are sensitive to heat such as oil paintings and plastics. I put these items, if small enough, in large plastic bags with a rag soaked with simple green and bleach (place the items in the bag IN the infested area, then carry them out. I have a 55 gallon drum painted black in the sun and scrap storm windows to make a poor-mans greenhouse).
Use liberal amounts of discipline with application.

You do not need to really worry about your car, it heats up to 120° in the summer. This is another good way to decontaminate larger infested items.

Even with bedbugs, this can take a month or two.

Are maltipoo's a good dog for a college student?

I have been wanting a dog for YEARS now and I finally have steady income and my own place. I am going to be living in a two bedroom apartment and wanted to make sure that that is an OK enviornment for a maltipoo. I have done some research on breeders and animal care and am wanting to purchase a dog this coming October. If anyone has any advice on which dogs are good for college students exd., please let me know!

You can never accurately predict the temperament or needs of a mix. Mutts (meant as a factual term referring to a mixed breed, not as an insult) don't adhere to breed standards, obviously, and the purpose of a high quality breeder is to strive toward the set breed standards. When there's no standard to follow, you don't know what you're going to get.

How much time do you have to dedicate to a dog? Maltese are prone to separation anxiety, so if you have many long classes, work many hours or are frequently out, they're a poor choice. Poodles are very active and clever dogs, so if they don't get plenty of stimulation and attention, they become bored and frustrated.. and a bored dog is a destructive, problematic dog. Both breeds require a good amount of grooming, so I assume a mix would require a fair chunk of time dedicated to daily/weekly grooming, too.

You mention buying one. One should never support the intentional breeding of two dogs who have just been slapped together. There are plenty of mixes in shelters. Unless one is responsibly aiming to create a new breed (in which case they must be an experienced breeder with a clear-cut goal, and they must know how to achieve it), no one has any business just sticking different breeds together. They're in it for the profit; such mixes are all the rage these days. (That's why shelters are full of 'em..)
If you're buying one, anyway, I assume that means you'd be buying a puppy. I don't think any student has the time to care for a puppy. They need CONSTANT supervision. I'm not exaggerating. In order to effectively housetrain a young puppy, they have to be watched ruthlessly! They're bundles of energy who cannot be left alone for very long at all.
And if you don't get a puppy, but get an adult (who would be much more suitable for your situation), then you oughtn't buy it. There's no reason not to adopt, in that case. No reason at all. In fact, there's no reason not to adopt even if you get a puppy. "Breeders" of "Maltipoos" are producing dogs who are absolutely no better quality, since, again, they're not adhering to a strict standard. A "Maltipoo" is a "Maltipoo" is a "Maltipoo."

An apartment is a fine environment for a Maltese or small Poodle, though, don't worry about that. Apartments are suitable for most breeds, as long as they're still sufficiently exercised outdoors.

It was 7:30 in the morning. The alarm clock beeped 5 times, before an arm flopped over and slapped the âOffâ button.
Craig awoke from his double bed and slowly crept up from his lying position. He put on some clothes, walked slowly down the hallway, leaning his hand against the wall at each step, and knocked on Andrewâs bedroom door.

âItâs time to go.â said Craig, through the still-closed bedroom door.

Andrew woke up, still quite tired. But, regardless, he stretched himself and grabbed a suit from his closet. After a few minutes, he opened his bedroom door, and walked out of his room, carrying the clothes he slept in to the dirty laundry basket.
On his way through, he stopped at the end of the hallway to listen in on what his dad was saying. He started a conference call with two phone numbers. Once both of the call receivers picked up their phones, Craig depressingly said a short phrase...

âItâs time to wake up and get going. You know where to go and, please, no in-laws or little ones.â

Andrew started to walk again as Craig hung up his phone, dug his forehead into the arm laying on the wall, and let out a long sigh.
Once Craig and Andrew were dressed up, they got into their cars and left. After about 25 minutes of driving, they arrived at their destination. They got out of their cars and walked up a set of stone stairs. They sat on a bench for a few more minutes and, eventually, another car pulled up. Craigâs oldest son, Daryl got out of the car, with a bundle of flowers in his hand. He walked up and sat on the bench with Craig and Andrew and they started to talk amongst themselves.
A little while into their conversation, a second car pulled up. A woman - Jennifer - Craigâs daughter, dropped her high-heel shoes on the ground and slipped her feet into them. She stood up out of the car, then, and she shut the door. Craig, Andrew and Daryl stood up from the bench, and all three started walking toward a decorative stone, with a deep container built into the ground in front of it. Jennifer placed her bundle of flowers into the container and the group of three looked solemnly at the writing on the stone...

He abruptly and loudly said: âJennifer, are we going out to eat, or what?â

Instantly, Craig grew hot with anger and turned toward Jennifer.

âWhy did you bring Rick here, Jennifer?â
âI-I...â
âI thought I made myself clear; No children, and no in-laws! He is not part of this family and the children are just too young to understand. That is why I didnât want the in-laws here!â
Rick, hearing what Craig said, shouted: âHey, man! Donât tell me I ainât part of this family! I married your daughter; I am a part of this family!â
Craig responded, sternly: âNot in this aspect, youâre not. This isnât your mother... this isnât your wife. This is our lost loved one and it is intended to be a private gathering when we come here.â
âCraig, you gotta stop holding onto this, like itâs a special family gathering... ok, itâs not like itâs Christmas or Thanksgiving. Your wife died! Thatâs a personal matter, Iâll give you that. But, nothing about this is private!â
As Craig was starting to walk toward Rick, Jennifer stopped him, sighed and said: âI only brought him because he insisted that he come.â
Craig said, in disbelief: âYou mean he demanded he come...â
âDad, no... itâs not like that.â
Craig threw his hands up in exasperation and said: âOh... donât give me that bullcrap. Let me tell you something. Youâre soft. You listen to everything he says without an ounce of thought as to what it sucks out of your life, and of our private matters!â
âDad, when I listen to my husband and do something he asks of me, itâs called respect. Also... you know, he does have a point. Thereâs a difference between a personal matter and a private matter. This... is not a private matter; itâs a personal matter and a family matter. Rick is family!â
Craig looked around and then lowered his head in disappointment. âYou know, I thought you would be better than that. I thought you would be better than taking my son-in-laws side in something he doesnât have anything to do with... and, out of every day you could disrespect me like this, you choose the one-year anniversary of your motherâs death! Maybe you should just leave with him.â
âBut, Dad...â
âJust go... I donât need this happening on so difficult a day as this.â

Craig and Andrew got in their car, while Daryl got into his own car. Then, they drove away from the Jeanneâs grave, headed for a nearby diner.

Couldn't read it all. What this story needs is a hook, for something interesting to happen. It was only the first few paragraphs when I stopped reading. You should interest me with the first line. The time of day isn't interesting.

Starting a story with the character waking up is cliche. It can be done, but you need to watch out for that. So the character wakes up, gets ready for the morning and, you know, what seems to be normal happens. This is fiction. You can make anything happen. Also, something you should think about if this would be the right place to start you're story. Consider a rewrite.

Well the beauty about a plain room is that u can do anything with it! before u start i recommend u really think it through that way you dont start redoing it then halfway through think "You know, i really dont even like the beach!". Anyway, here are some ideas i have for you.

i dont know what country you live in but in Australia (where i live) we have a store called Spotlight which sells all sorts of craft/home ideas. Anyway i picked up a really cool bedspread there for about $30, but you can get a cheap bebspread anywhere, why not try ebay?

Another thing you could do is get one of those chinese paper lanterns, they come in all colors and shapes, not just asian themed rooms, and looks fantastic and creative in a bedroom. they r pretty cheap too. i have a pink one in my room.

I think I have BED BUGS!?

I think I have bed bugs and every morning I wake up with new bites all over my skin. I keep telling my boyfriend they're mosquito bites but he's dumbfounded cause it's still winter here. I'm really upset, they itch alot and are all over my back and arms and even on my feet. I can't get rid of my bedroom furniture cause they're brand new. Please give me information on how to get rid of these stupid things, they're ruining my life. Thanks

Same thing happened to me last year. I can't say for sure what's biting you, but I can tell you what was biting me. Beg bugs. Seriously. I thought they were just a myth ("sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite..."), but they're real. And a real pain.

Most of my bites occurred on my neck, and, just like you said, weren't there when I went to bed but were there when I woke up. They didn't hurt, but they itched and took forever to go away. They were red and raised, much like mosquito bites.

Does that sound like what you are experiencing?

If so, then you probably have bed bugs - or at the very least should rule that out!

Bed bugs are nocturnal, and they're most active between 3 and 6 am. The can sense a heat source (i.e., YOU) and need to live near the heat source to feed. So that's why they're most commonly found in/on/near mattresses. They feed on your blood (little vampires!) while you sleep. The idea that little bugs were crawling on me while I slept almost put me over the edge, but that's the truth. They're too small to notice most of the time, and even when they bite, you don't feel it.

Bed bugs are TINY, and they breed like crazy, laying hundreds of eggs at a time. So even if you see one or two adults hanging around and kill them, you're not out of the woods yet.

As I mentioned, most bed bugs live on mattresses--usually on the underside right around the seams (so they can hide during the day). You may also find them on the boxsprings. If you're brave enough, lift up the mattress and see what you find. You may see live bugs, but as I said, even the adults are tiny (like half the size of your pinky nail), so there's no way you'd see the eggs with the naked eye. What you'll probably see is some reddish-purple stain on your mattress. Looks like dried blood. It IS dried blood. Your blood. That's what they feed on, as I mentioned, and that's what they excrete. If you see this kind of stain on your mattress, that's a tell-tale sign...

So I know you're probably thinking "How did I get bed bugs?!?! What do I do now?"

I don't know where yours came from, but in my case, they came from a neighbor's apartment. They're small, so they came under the baseboards from apartment to apartment. He got them from a hotel. A nice one. In New York City. And they came back with him in his luggage. Bed bugs were very active in the US 40 or 50 years ago but were mostly eradicated (DDT was very popular then!). They have not been eradicated from all countries, though, and I read that they were still a big problem in parts of Australia and France. And with the rise in global tourism, they've become a problem in the US again in recent years. Have you traveled recently? Slept in a hotel? Or if you live in an apartment/condo/townhouse, it's possible you got them from a neighbor.

As for what to do now, it's extremely important to take this problem seriously. Bed bugs are VERY difficult to get rid of, so be persistent. Based on my experience, my advice is below:

First, if you live in an apartment, call your landlord. Ask him/her if anyone else in the building/complex has complained of similar problems. If so, ask if he/she has determined what the problem is. (My landlord was extremely reluctant to admit it was bed bugs, even though he knew it was, because he didn't want me to freak out.) Tell him/her you think it may be bed bugs and ask him/her to call an experienced exterminator immediately. These bugs will not go away on their own, and it will only get worse as they spread. My landlord was very lazy about it. He was a good guy, but he had never dealt with bed bugs before and had no idea how serious the issue would become. I wish I'd been more firm with him in the beginning, which is why
