Log cabin style bedroom set?

PeachPie

I'm looking for a log cabin style bedroom set. Me and my husband have been sleeping on a mattress and boxspring on the floor for long enough (ghetto I know). I went to The Roomstore and they had some sort of bedroom set that was supposed to look "rustic" and supposedly had a "log cabin feel", but it wasn't doing it for me. I want one that looks like actual logs. Does anyone know where I can buy a bedroom set like this? Have you seen it anywhere or do you have any online links?

Need help on Bedroom Set...bedding,furniture,etc?

Ernesto E

I just moved into a new bedroom and need help decorating it. Nothing too complex but would like to know what color bedding, small furniture, computer desk, drawer to get.

My room has one burgandy colored wall and the rest of the 3 walls around the room are beige. The floor is made out of tan tiles.

I would like black,grey,charcoal like colors but from what i've heard its not going to look good at all and I heard colors like gold which I DONT want would go with it. Any ideas which colors would go with the burgandy and beige painted room?

Answer
Have you considered getting a used set to start, and paying cash for it? Try thrift shops like Goodwill, and craigslist, and the for sale papers that are in many convenience stores.

Many places just finance through credit cards but some places will let you pay payments.

Teen Bedroom Decorating Ideas?

Alyssa M

Hey!
So my family and I are moving to a new house, and I am looking to redecorate my room to a really nice theme. The only problem is, I can't pick one out!!
We're moving into a cape, we think at least. I just need some help with it. I want a really cool comforter and lights and curtains and a mini fridge and things like that.
I already have the furniture, I'm not getting any new ones, besides maybe a chair or a couch.
I really really like Disney, even though I'm 16 years old haha :-) ! I'm not into the Disney Channel, I like classic Disney, you know Disney World! I love that. So maybe a room like that would be really need to have.
Also maybe a beach themed, or something like that. But my big idea is Disney I think.
And any suggestions even if they aren't Disney, are welcomed!! My favorite color is blue, if that helps, and my furniture is black. I also hate the color pink... ;P
So thank you!!
-Lyssie

Answer
Whatâs nice about bedroom furniture is that there are actually a lot of options to choose from in terms of style, also various styles rest with different ages. For example, luxury antique furniture relates to middle-aged and old people; while for young people, a modern feel featuring a clean look with stunning symmetrical lines maybe better; then simple and friendly used furniture are suitable for kids.

The choices donât just stop with style when it comes to bedroom furniture for a wide variety of designs and types are offered in as well. Take classic European stylish furniture selected by middle aged people for example, a wide carved bed with embroider bedclothes are necessary, then, believe it or not, there are a slew of dressers that you can get for your space, dressers are great if you have a lot of clothes that you need to fold and store away. Nightstands with drawers are always a good choice as well if you have many clothes to keep. Please do not just stop here with drawers and nightstands; you could have a good selection of armoires, entertainment centers, bed frames that have drawers built in them, vanity tables and dressers, mirrors, desks, benches, and bookshelves and all kinds of bedroom furniture. If you want to enjoy some romantic moment, then you need a set of leisure furniture, let the flavor of red wine permeate around the soft music to relax both your body and mind!

i want to redecorte my room my bed spread looks like this http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Echo-Circle-Game-Blue-3-piece-Mini-Comforter-Set/2656686/product.html? i have all the pillows and everything also. i need ideas for what to do like color of the walls and decorations please help!!!
it also needs to cheap

Answer
I think it would look good to paint your room "june bud" by Glidden to pick up the green in the bedspread. It's from the "Bright & Lively" paint strip # BL43, third one down:
https://www.glidden.com/colors/selector.jsp

Glidden is the least expensive brand of paint, but it's still pretty good quality. You get it at The Home Depot. About $20 a gallon.

As for decor, just find pictures & things that you like. Artwork in baby blue or espresso would look great against the green walls & coordinate with the bedding:
http://homedecorators30.artselect.com/perl/search?sortType=MostRelevant&t=b-c5789&openct11074=11077,5789&alt=Baby-Blue
http://homedecorators30.artselect.com/perl/search?sortType=MostRelevant&t=b-c228&openct11074=11078,228&alt=Espresso
With those, it's really cheap to buy just the posters instead of the custom framed print, which is a lot more expensive.

This picture would go perfectly:

Some cheap storage ideas?

HoukiBoshi

I just want some short term storage ideas, since my room's a tip and I need a bit of encouragement (why tidy up if it'll get messed up in a week due to inaccessibility of everything?)

I've got about a year until uni so nothing expensive or fancy, but more emphasis on it being cheap and practical. It would be great if it didn't take up too much space, too - my bedroom is pretty small. I don't mind making things either if it's not too difficult.

The main things I want to store are books (hardback, paperback, notebooks, textbooks and revision guides) and file paper (sortable) and clothing.
Wow, thanks for the response - I've found some stackable open plastic boxes that are pretty good, although the lower boxes aren't too accesible. I'm storing books, bags and shoes in the lower ones, with the top for everyday clothes.

If it helps, I have a bunk bed (used to share with a sister who has moved out for uni - leaving most of her junk behind...). I'm using the bottom bunk as a "filing cabinet" of sorts for now.

Keep the suggestions coming, they're really great!

Answer
Wilkinsons and Home & Bargains is really cheap!
They don't really have set items to sell in the shop,
so you've just got to go searching! xD
But if you find something, it will be a bargain!!

Argos is great! If you want something a bit more permanent..
They do all sorts of book shelves/cases.

And Ikea if you want something even betterererererererererer!

You have a small room,
So you want to take up wall space not floor space.

So I'd recommened tall shelves with or without pull out crates..
They're great for small rooms!
Best place to buy them from is Argos..

is this a scam? please answer?

katy :)

i am selling a bedroom set for 600 on craigslist and someone made an offer for 650 because he wants to make sure it is saved for him, he offered to have his mover come pick it up and take it to his new house to surprise his wife, they are on a honeymoon. i said okay and he sent a check to my work address (i gave him it instead of my home). I haven't gotten it yet but i got this email from him today:
Hello,
I want you to understand that the transaction is on as my secretary as mailed the check payment already, but there was a slight error i guess we can handle with care. Instead of the actual amount, $650 for the furniture, she made out the check for $3650. She claimed that was what i requested but she didn't get that straight. So once you have the check, please cash it and deduct the money for the item plus $20 that for your running around expenses. The excess fund should please be sent to my mover via western union, this fund will be used in offsetting the cost of the shipment she as undertaken for me recently. Friday would be good for the pickup.
**Please email me at once to let me know i can trust you to have the excess funds expedited to my mover immediately the same day check is received**

I hope to read back from you very urgently.

Most Sincerely,

Mark.
IS HE SCAMMING ME WHAT DO I DO?

Answer
SCAM-DO NOT DEPOSIT OR CASH THE CHECK!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~
"# NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
# FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.
Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?
* FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)
* FTC online complaint form (http://www.ftc.gov)
* Canadian PhoneBusters hotline: 888-495-8501
* Internet Fraud Complaint Center (http://www.ic3.gov)
* Non-emergency number for your local police department.
If you suspect that an item posted for sale on craigslist may be part of a scam, please email the details to "abuse@craigslist.org". Be sure to include the URL (or eight-digit post ID number) in your message.
Recognizing scams
Most scams involve one or more of the following:
* inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
* Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
* inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction
Examples of Scams
1. Someone claims that craigslist will guarantee a transaction, certify a buyer/seller, OR claims that craigslist will handle or provide protection for a payment.
* These claims are fraudulent, as craigslist does not have any role in any transaction.
* Scammer will often send an official looking email that appears to come from craigslist, offering a guarantee, certifying a seller, providing payment services -- all such emails are fakes!
2. distant person offers a genuine-looking (but fake) cashier's check
* you receive an email (examples below) offering to buy your item, or rent your apartment, sight unseen.
* cashier's check is offered for your sale item, as a deposit for an apartment, or for just about anything else of value.
* value of cashier's check often far exceeds your item - scammer offers to "trust" you, and asks you to wire the balance via money transfer service
* banks will often cash these fake checks AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE WHEN THE CHECK FAILS TO CLEAR, including criminal prosecution in some cases!
* scam often involves a 3rd party (shipping agent, business associate owing buyer money, etc)
3. Someone requests wire service payment via Western Union or MoneyGram:
* Scam "bait" items include apartments, laptops, plasma TVs, cell phones, tickets - but could be almost anything
* Often claim that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money - this is FALSE, once you've wired money, it is GONE.
* Common countries currently include: Nigeria, Romania, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Netherlands - but could be anywhere
* Apartment listing may be local, but landlord/owner is "travelling" or "relocating" and needs you to wire money to them abroad
* Deal often seems too good to be true, price is too low, rent is below market, etc
4. distant person offers to send you a money order and then have you wire money:
* this is ALWAYS a scam, in our experience - the cashier's check is FAKE
* sometimes accompanies an offer of merchandise, sometimes not
* scammer often asks for your name, address, etc for printing on the fake check
* deal often seems too good to be true"
"actual scam emails sent to craigslist sellers
Rich people - How do you feel about yourselves?
Sunny McBu
Also, how's it feel being rich? How do you feel your life is different than the majority's?
This isn't a religious question, nor do I want religion shoved down my throat. This is a question about money.
Ok. Let's go with top 15%.
Answer
Everyone's definition of "rich" is different.
To be clear, I consider my self very fortunate and am just trying to answer this question to the best of my ability.
My father is an entrepreneur (is a very self-made man considering he grew up on the streets of NYC) and my family owned 2 private jets, 2 boats, 3 houses (all with more than 6 bedrooms), several luxury cars, a limo, employed chef, employed house manager, and a full-time employed housekeeper at the peak of his businesses (this was maybe one or two years ago).
Assuming I meet your definition of "rich" than I feel like everyone else I know. I go to an all-girls private school -- one of the top schools in the country -- and I study 3 languages as well as do over 100 hours of community service yearly. Every person I know attends a private school and is into the same sports as I am.
I feel like my life is not different than the majority's lives because although I have had the oppurtunity to go to 10 of the 16 (used to be 17 until Le Bec Fin became casual) five star restaurants in the United States and have visited France, Italy, Nevus, Bora Bora, and the Caribbean (to name but a few), my life is not all easy.
I have a 6-figure trust fund to fall back on when I am 25 years old but I still work hard for my shopping money. I babysit, I do chores around the house, I help my community a lot, and I try to be as social as society allows a 13 year old. I have several designer purses, shoes, sunglasses, and other accessories but I still have to put up with my annoying parents: the same as the rest of the world.
What sets me apart from anyone else I know is that my dad has been charged with several white-collar crimes and one of his largest companies (worth $400 million) went bankrupt not long after my 8th birthday and now I have to put up with newspaper reporters calling my house (so our 4 phone lines are often busy), various people knocking on our door for interviews, and then I have to deal with the public humiliation that comes with this press attention.
I am no celebrity world-wide, but in my community my family is of very high status and the press says very very nasty things which no ordinary 13 year old girl should ever have to deal with.
You have to understand that although my IQ is among the top 0.5% and although my family's wealth exceeds beyond the top 5%, I do have a lot to deal with.
It's funny, I've always wanted an "average" life style with loving parents (I was raised mostly by nannies) and no involvement in the business world (my brothers and I already have a 1/4 share in over 10 companies and we are all under 18 years old, plus I signed my first $200 million contract in first grade at 6 years old). Whereas most people want an Upper Class life, the "American Dream" as some refer to it as.
I say my life feels different -- yeah. It feels good sometimes be wealthy -- of course. But at the end of the day, I just want shelter, food, and love. Anywhere my life goes as long as I have someone to love me, food to keep me warm and healthy, and shelter over my head I will be happy.
I know a lot for a 13 year old. A lot of people say I have grown up too quickly because of the pressure put on me.
-Catherine
Edit: To the person who said wealthy people never do anything for the community is 100% UNTRUE! My mom is a philanthropists which means she gives away money as her job to organizations. We are just ordinary people. My dad is sitting in his office downstairs right this second in a Nike tracksuit because he works out every morning at our gym. My mom is in her bathrobe in one of her closets probably picking out cloths to wear.
Any ideas for adding color to a bedroom?
Dana
I bought this black and white comforter set recently for my bedroom. I just realized that I have a white rug that was going in the bedroom as well. The walls are also white and I can't paint. Do you have any ideas on bringing some color into the room?
This is a picture of the comforter. It's double sided.
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/danish_019/0008180617437_AV1_500X500.jpg
Answer
You can break up the color by adding colorful vases with bright flowers (either real or fake) and setting them everywhere. Take the color that you used for the vase and get throw pillows of the same color. You could also add wall paintings or decorative items with that theme color.
It will end up pretty unique since it will be a very white and black room with a shot of color!
Good luck (:
I need ideas for coffee tables?
MariChelit
I'm getting ready to move into our first home and I really want to give my house personality. We have a great color scheme picked out throughout the house already, and I already have a living room set. What I want now is ideas for DIY end tables and a coffee table. I want something with personality, character. i dont want to spend $200 on standard tables that are made by the hundreds. I want something unique.
Our living room will be an eggshell/toupe color
http://cdn.decorpad.com/photos/2008/05/20/8cbceb7f5d78.jpg
with one accent wall in a chocolate color with a wall stencil design throughout.
http://st.houzz.com/simages/30412_0_8-2146-traditional-bedroom.jpg
our sofa set is a chocolate brown color with pillow backs kind of like the one in this picture:
http://www.morfurniture.com/c_detail.aspx?ID=596&CatID=28&Group=10
besides the living room set that we already own and the colors that we picked for the living room, we dont have any other design element or idea for the living room so for the coffee tables and side tables anything goes.
Give me any all ideas you may have for DIY coffee tables and end tables. I'm willing to make my own, redesign something found at a thrift shop or garage sale, anything. But I'm having a creativity block and I cant think up any ideas.
Ideas for decorating my bedroom?
Loser
Hey! So it's the holidays and I was thinking about taking a day or so to redecorate and design my room.
I'm into 70s and 80s hard rock/metal - Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc and I'm also a fan of the 60's hippie era so so any ideas for a 70s/80s music theme or a 60s boho/hippie theme would be great. I'm allowed to do anything to my room except paint it so yeah.
Any ideas?
Also if it helps, my room is quite small so I can't bring in huge items of furniture unfortunately..
Thanks in advance :)
Bedroom decor help, PLEASE!!?
So I'm redoing my room completely, my walls are going to be cream and blue with a brown wall decal, but I really need help with the accessories. Does anybody know where I can get low-ish prices but good quality, or any ideas on what I should get?
I'm around 13,
but on my mom's profile.
Answer
So far, what you have is going to look good; as I picture it. I would go to any department store like Walmart, Kmart, Target or Kohls. Also check stores like Sears, JCPenney. Get a bedding set with cream/brown, white/brown, blue/brown in it. Find pillows that are solid colors if your bedding is a print or stripes.
Good Luck in your choosing of your new bedroom.
Michael jordan birthday party theme for my fiances 23rd b-day?
Courtney
he loves michael jordan and he's turning 23 so I figured it would be a perfect theme its next tuesday and there will be all adults there.. and i'm trying to crate a michael jordan cake 2..please help!!!!!!!
Answer
You wonât have to wait for the finals to experience the madness this basketball party is sure create! Weâve gathered everything youâll need to decorate, and celebrate in hoop it up style, and to guarantee all-star action for everyone!
Decorating for this party can be fairly simple, because typically this party will be held at a gym, a park, schoolyard, cul-de-sac or backyard and the focus will be on playing the game. Try to greet guests with a festive welcome, and create over-the-top tables for eating, and for food and gift display!
Outdoor decorations:
Line a walkway with a royal blue Shimmer Stars, writing each guestâs name on a star. Tape the stars with masking or duct tape to the sidewalk, walkway or exterior walls leading to the site of the party. The stars can also be used on the food table and as place cards.
Attach a bouquet of helium filled balloons to a light post or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be that day!
Indoor Decorations:
Start your decorating with a Championship Basketball Ensemble. This ensemble contains balloons, streamers, curling ribbon, a cascading centerpiece, pennant cutout, molded basketball candles, and even a Basketball Piñata to match your theme!
A Basketball Entrance is the perfect prop for a gym or basement party setting. It makes an awesome photo backdrop for some all-star keepsake photos, and a winning entrance for hooped-up player introductions!
Stand life-sized cutouts or posters of sports heroes around the tableâ¦Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Kevin Garnet or Yao Ming would all be welcome guests.
Pay tribute to your childâs favorite pro or college team by adding logoed pennants, caps, autographed ballsâ¦anything you have around the house.
Baseketball balloons can economically transform any room or yard into a festive space in a matter of minutes by using some of the following ideas:
Use a helium tank to fill balloons. Tie curling ribbon to balloons, and group them together. (Odd numbers look best: 3, 5, or 7) Place groupings of balloons around the party site.
Tie a bunch of helium filled balloons to the birthday childâs chair, or tie one balloon to the back of each chair.
If your party is indoors, or if you are eating in a separate room, streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful effect by draping printed streamers from the center of the ceiling to the walls on each side of the room. The streamers can be twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table for a more dimensional look. They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading vertically down walls.
Table Decorations:
Setting a table with the party ware, including the tablecloth, cups, plates, napkins, and cutlery is the fastest way to create a focal point in a room. Start by setting your table with all the goodies in a Championship Basketball Ensemble, creating a place setting at the table for each birthday guest. Setting the table with all the tableware creates a much more dazzling effect.
Add one or a few of the following touches to personalize your table:
Place one 12 X 12 â linoleum square (select one that looks like hardwood floor) under each plate as a âplacematâ.
Set a personalized cheerphone at each place setting as a place card.
Display your birthday cake in the center of the tableâ¦the kids will love the close up view!
Hang personalized Vinyl Pennants down the back of each chair around the table. A treasured pennant will hang in the birthday boy or girlâs bedroom for many years to come!
Add other personalized items, such as a stadium cup, to each place setting to let the birthday boy or girl know just how special he/she is. These items will stir fond memories of the âbest birthday everâ for many years to come.
Edit 1 : Sorry for it says kids.. It's fit for adults too ~!
Edit 2 : And 4 tha coolest cake :
New England Red Sox fans?
Q. Like myself, are you kicking yourself in the butt for NOT going to Jordan's Furniture and buying that living room, dining room, or bedroom set you wanted?
Answer
My wife's been bugging me for a new bedroom set for a while now. I was going to get one at Jordan's, but then I found out that the Monster Deal was wasn't good for entire bedroom sets, just beds.
We'll probably get one from Bob's. They have really good prices and we're very happy with the living room set we got there.
York University Keele Campus in Toronto, ON - where's the best place to live?
W
I am attending York University's Faculty of Education (Teacher's College) in Sept on the Keele campus. I'm completely unfamiliar with Toronto - is Keele close to downtown? Close to any nice/convenient parts of town? Am I better off looking for a residence to live in on campus or just share an apartment with someone? If residence is better, which residence is typically for graduate students/older students? I'm only 23 but I don't want to be on res floors with 19 year olds.
Any help much appreciated from Torontonians! Thanks
Answer
Virtually all of the residences are going to be full of first years or possibly second years; very few people your age, even less that are in a postgraduate program.
There is a very small set of townhouses on campus that are reserved for masters of phd students. I have no clue what they cost or their availability: call York for that.
The neighbourhood around Yorks Keele campus has the highest volume of crime in Ontario. It is second only to Dundas & Sherbourne for crime per capita. If you look for housing DO NOT look West of the campus as that is the gangland area.
About 10 years ago York sold the Southern half of its campus allowing for the creation of a new housing subdivision. I would think that it is an alright area to live, although I have not spent much time there.
Within the next few years the subway will be extended to have a stop at York University. At present this is under construction. York is however a transit terminal so you can catch a lot of different buses from here. The "Toronto area" has a horrid transit system that is slow and unionized, but it is extensive enough to get access to most areas. Note that Steeles is the northern barrier of Toronto. If you had to travel from one block north of Steeles to one block south of steeles you would have to pay for two different transit fares/passes (that is how ridiculous the unions and transit control is). For this reason, I recommend that you live somewhere within the definition of "Toronto": that way you can use Toronto transit (TTC) to get anywhere you want to go. There is nothing particularly interesting north of Steeles and certainly nothing you cant find in Toronto proper.
I know someone that lives at Bathurst and Sheppard and she has a decent rent and the neighbourhood is not bad. It would be relatively easy to get to school from there or to get downtown.
Personally, I would get an apartment at Yonge and Sheppard. This neighbourhood has many good things going for it: (I) many multi-million dollar homes; (II) many apartment buildings in clusters; (III) a TTC subway station making it super easy to get around town; (IV) two of the busiest streets in Toronto therefore buses come more often (V) lots and lots of shops: everything you could possibly need is within a 10 minute trip by bus and generally everything you need is within a 10 minute walk of your apartment (restaurants, grocery store, kitchen supply stores; vets, doctors, banks; (VI) being a wealthy neighbourhood it is lower crime and friendlier; (VII) there is a huge and beautiful park system; (VIII) Sunnybrook hospital (one of the best in Canada) is a 5-10 minute walk away. Toronto is a very expensive city and apartment prices are much the same everywhere except the very wealthy condos, the UofT area and the high crime areas. I would expect 900-1000 for a Bachelor at Yonge and Eglinton and 1150-1400 for a 1-bedroom. Most of the apartments in this area are fairly clean and the larger buildings often have pools and a small exercise room. To get to school from here just take the subway to Finch and then take a bus to YorkU.
I attended York.
I have lived in Toronto almost my whole life.
What are requirements to buy house in Toronto, Canada?
amit minha
Hey, I am planning to move from USA to Canada.
1) s getting a bank loan easier in Canada?
2) I am US Citizen. Do I need to Canadian to buy a house?
3) Average price range of house , I can get for 1 or 2 bedrooms set in Toronto area?
Please advice. Thank you so much.
Answer
You can't just move to Canada. It has immigration laws.
Americans can visit Canada for a maximum of 180 days each year without a visa. They may apply for a temporary residency (tourists) visa for a maximum of two years. Tourists may not attend school, work, or look for work while in Canada, nor can they obtain driver's licenses, social insurance numbers, health insurance, open bank accounts, etc. All entry into Canada is at the discretion of Canadian Border Services. If you state you are staying for a long period of time, you'll need a good explanation of what you are doing in Canada, proof of finances, travel medical insurance, etc.
If you wish to study or work temporarily in Canada, you would need a study permit (required you apply, be accepted, and pay for university... likely $40,000+ per year) or a work permit (which required a job offer from a Canadian company which has permission to hire foreign workers). Both are temporary... ending when your program or job offer expires to a maximum of two to three years on a work permit.
If you wish to stay permanently in Canada, you must apply for permanent residency. This requires specific requirements such as: marrying a Canadian willing to sponsor you; a highly skilled job offer (doctor, engineer, nurse, specialized trades, etc.) and then complete for one of 10,000 positions based on age, education, language testing, etc.; have a net worth of $1.6M and invest $800k in Canada; complete certain university degree in Canada and then find work in that profession; or obtain the nomination of one of the provinces (doctor willing to work in a remote community, buy/run a farm in some provinces, world class performing artist, etc.).
Until you sort out your immigration issues... this is rather pointless.
1. No bank will give you a loan. US banks won't give you a mortgage on a property outside of the United States and no Canadian bank will give a mortgage to anyone without lawful residency in Canada -- and probably not any temporary student or work permit holder.
2. A lot of money.
3. You can use the MLS web site to search for homes for sale anywhere in Canada. Home prices vary dramatically. However, even the smaller starter home in Greater Toronto will be well in excess of $400,000 with averages in the $600,000 or so.
btw: putting green apples in your room will make it look bigger
How much should I sell this bedroom set for?
herzog.mcg
It is a children's bedroom set, but pretty average size furniture. The style is a medium stained wood, 3 piece set (bed, desk, and dresser).
The bed is a half loft, twin size (mattress and box spring not included). The desk is fairly large, one piece, 3 side drawers, 1 desk drawer, and a shelf above the desk. The dresser is waist high, with 6 drawers, and a detachable mirror.
The condition on a scale from 1 - 10 (10 being the best), I would rate it a 6 or 7. It was originally purchased about 1992.
The purchased price is unknown.
Answer
Hello there. I would guess you might hope to get $200.00 for it. But you want to get the most possible. Ask $300.00 and if someone offers you less, you can still get the $200.00. People like to think they are getting a bargain... and should then be happy to pay $200.00.
Thanks for reading. :))
my 8 month old dog keeps peeing on the seetee help! any suggesstions????
Emma H
any suggesstions welcome, my 8 month old puppy keeps peeing on the seetee, we have house trained him to a certain extent because he goes out side to poop, when he kept peeing on the carpet we kept putting him outside to teach him the toilet is out there and after a while it got so frustrating so with a bit of advice from friends and family we decided to rub his nose in it, it worked wonders as he hasnt done a wee on the carpet for weeks, but instead we noticed he has been doing on my daughters bed, this has happened 4 or 5 times, so we then done the same rubbing nose affect and nothing since, but yet again we are faced with the same problem he is now doing it on my seetee, it so frustrating, i have run out of ideas, any suggestions anyone???????????
Answer
I use a crate* to potty train with, but only for potty training and then I break it down and store it. I put blankets and a small food and water dish in the crate. Dogs don't potty where they eat and sleep. When they are first little, I only expect them to hold their potty for 4 hours, and then 6 hours, then 8 hours and so on. So when they are first little, I set a timer or alarm clock to wake myself up at night to take them out. I only allow my puppy in the bedroom* or the living room, only one room at a time. They have to graduate to more space. If I allow them to have full run of the house, it will overwhelm them. I take them out the same door each time. I tie a dinner bell to the door handle. Do not use a jingle bell as they could get their toe caught in it. So when they are little, I ring the bell for them, and then open the door to go outside to potty. When they get bigger, I take their paw and whack the bell and open the door to go potty. Eventually getting to the place where the puppy will ring the bell and let me know when they need to go potty. Dogs want to please you, so it is your job to let them know what behaviors please you and what doesn't. So when my puppy goes potty, I give her a treat*, and clap, and make a fuss and praise her. So she learns that going potty outside makes me happy. If she has an accident I use a word like "shame" and take her out right away. When correcting, I use a stern, firm voice, but I never yell* or spank* my puppies. Take them out when they first wake up, after they eat or drink, or when they are sniffing around. Some puppies go pee right away, but may not go poop until 10 minutes later, so wait for the poop. I have a little play time here, because sometimes I think they are done, and they are not. Puppies train at their own pace. While I may have a puppy that hasn't had an accident in several weeks, I don't let my guard down. I don't expect my puppies to be "fully potty trained" until the 6 to 8-month-old time frame, and depending on the puppy, one-year-old. If they have a setback, shake it off, and start over. I only have my puppies in the crate when I am not watching them. When I am sleeping, cooking, ironing, doing chores, basically when I am not watching her. All other times, she is out of the crate practicing being a "big girl." This is the time I train her how to behave in the house. So we are practicing "no barking", 'no biting", "no jumping", and "don't eat the furniture." I also have to practice "playing inside" so she doesn't knock over things. Some puppies can sleep through the night around 3-months-old, but their bladder is grown around 6-months-old.
REVISIONS:
*I use a crate to train with. It is the method I prefer, compared to other methods I have tried. While personally, the crate traumatizes me, (it looks like a doggie jail), my puppies do better in the crate. They like it, I guess for the den like feeling, but I noticed that if they are in the crate, while I am doing chores, they are o.k., because the crate allows them to see me and be re-assured. The crate can also be a comfort when stored in the basement for dogs who live in areas where thunderstorms and tornados are an issue. It is a safe secure place for them. However, use the method that works best for you.....a laundry basket, a cardboard box, a woof-woof house, child gates......whatever works for you.
*Bedrooms, I use the bedroom and living room for training, because it works for me. Choose rooms that work for you, but watch for rooms that are damp, or drafty. While my puppies sleep in the bedroom during training, once they are trained, I let them sleep where they want to. They don't have to sleep in the bedroom forever.
*Treats. While I use treats for training, you don't have to. I like Charlee Bears for training (a little cracker for a little mouth,) I use them for training, but once they are trained, I cut back on them. Although I use them to give pills too. I used different treats for different things. We use one bone at bedtime to let the dogs know it is time to go to bed. We use a big rawhide for when we go on long trips, so they have a bone to amuse them, and they will be expected to hold their potty. When they get the rawhide, they will not eat their food and water, until we get home from our trip. (dogs are funny) Do what works best for you.
*Some puppies will go potty in the same spot each time. Some puppies have to be told to go potty. A command like "go out" for #1, or "go finish" for #2 might work for you. This is a good thing to train if you travel with your dogs. By using commands, the puppy won't get confused when you are visiting someone, on vacation with you, or when you get to a new home. The command will tell them what you want them to do in an unfamiliar place.
*Yelling. It is not a good idea to "yell" or "spank" your puppy and then take them outside when they have an accident. They may get confused and think that going outside is punishment. While you want to correct them, if you are extreme, they may not want to go outside again.
*Sometimes it seems like you take your puppy out 5 million times a day. You can sit on a bench, or folding chair, or a 5 gallon bucket turned upside down to stay in the shade. I use an umbrella for shade too. You can always tape your favorite tv shows. In the winter I microwave a gel pack heating pad, (sold at walmart in the pharmacy, made by Kaz, I think.) I put the heating pad under my jacket so I won't freeze to death. In the summer, I freeze bottles of water, so we can grab one real fast on our way out the door. I have a mini back pack by the door I can just grab with doggie treats, a flash light, a rubber band for my hair when the wind is bad, etc. Do what works for you.
*Time lines. Keep it real. Puppies train at their own pace, so while your last 2 dogs may have trained faster, this puppy might take longer. Training is all about routines, and repeating yourself. It is about rewarding good behaviors, and correcting bad ones. If you have a setback, shake it off, and keep going. Good luck.
How much would it cost for a new HVAC system…?
peanutbute
â¦specifically to replace an OE 40-year-old HVAC system in a 983 sq. ft., 2 bed, 1 bath, above ground apartment? The central air crapped out in summer of 2009 and I had to go out and get a 112-pound "portable" room air conditioning unit. Originally set up in the living room, I moved the unit to my bedroom, where I spend a majority of my time at this place anyway, but every other room in the house is miserably hot, despite my best efforts to reduce the temperature when I power down the unit at night and during several periods throughout the day [i.e opening windows and operating fans] with night time lows in the 60's and 70's. Helpful advice is appreciated, along with at least a gisted price range on a whole new HVAC system.
Answer
You can pretty much count on spending $2K per ton. Also, please understand this: you are defeating the purpose of the concept of air conditioning when you open windows and run fans. (edit) -its OK to run one fan, pointing at you. Y'see, fans blow the heat off you, they do not cool the room. Fans actually heat the air slightly. Plus, your body is a heat & humidity pump set at 98.6F.
People think air conditioners simply blow cool air,,,, wrong. The first job of ANY air conditioner is to take the moisture out the air, then its easy to cool dry air...
Now, there are contributing factors; insulation, energy efficient doors & windows, and most important... a very well ventilated attic. If the heat is allowed to stay in there or propagate, that just radiates that heat back down into the house.
You can mitigate your circumstances by keeping direct sunlight out of the windows, keep boiling & frying to a minimum, and even running lights only when needed. If it won't ruin the outside appearance of your house, I've seen those exterior bamboo roll up blinds attached to the edge of the roof at the soffit, keeping sun off the exterior walls.
Do yourself a favor and get the highest SEER rating you can afford. It will pay for itself sooner than you think.
Math Help Please. FINDING AREA AND FOIL METHOD.?
Q. Mrs. Johnson is looking to rent two different apartments. She wants the most amount of space she can afford. She is looking at 2 different options.
Option 1: The efficiency apartment: What is the area?
1. Set up the problem. Remember that Area = length * width
2. Simplify (Hint: use the FOIL Method)
3. If x=8, then how many square feet is the apartment? Write your answer in a sentence.
Option 2: The One bedroom apartment
1. Set up the problem. (Yes it will have numbers and letters in the area and yes you will need to subtract the porch).
2. Simplify
3. If x=4, then how many square feet is the apartment? Write your answer in a sentence.
for question 1 http://s1363.photobucket.com/user/jonny285/media/math_zps6e1a1c75.png.html
and for question 2 http://s1363.photobucket.com/user/jonny285/media/math2_zpsf1894699.png.html
Answer
Option 1:
1) area = (2x +8)(x +3)
2) simplify (using Foil)
= 2x² + 6x + 8x + 24
= 2x² + 14x + 24
3) if x=8
=2 (8)² + 14(8) + 24
= 2(64) + 14(8) + 24
= 128 + 112+ 24
= 264 feet²
Option 2:
1) area = (x +4) (10x) - 40
2) simplify: 10x² + 40x - 40
3) if x = 4
= 10 (4)² + 40(4) - 40
= 10 (16) + 40 (4) -40
= 160 + 160 - 40
= 280 feet²
therefore Option 2 is bigger
Modern Bedroom Decor?
LatinaLove
So i am moving once again, and I think it's time to mature my room. I am in high school and am looking for a modern theme. Anyone have advice for wall colors, futons (if you could give me a link that'd be superb) and a new flat screen telivision? Links would be great. TEN POINTS TO WHO EVER CAN GIVE ME THE BEST DECOR TIPS!
and I kind of have a budget, it's alittle hard but it's alittle tight. from $1,000-1,5000
Remember- the theme i'm going for is MODERN.
Answer
I love this couch, it is a convertible bed, so a little nicer than a futon.
I would get 2 night stands...
This as a dresser
put your flat screen over the dresser
with accent cube shelves places staggered on each side of the tv
I had too many links, but you can get a set of 3 for $20 at target
(I would get 2 sets, 3 on ea side)
now for the punch of color
I would get two striped pillows, they bring in the dark tones of the wood, the cream in the couch, and introduce the red
This rug does the same thing...
I think three of these hung over the futon at 2 in intervals would create a very graphic art statement
Hope I gave you some ideas, the grand total I came up with was $1512.42 not including tax & shipping. If you get anything from overstock, they will ship your entire order, no matter how large for $2.95. I'm sure this is more detailed than what you were asking for, and but I hope the items I pick out gave you inspiration. You can find cheaper accents at discount close out stores & clearance shelves.
How much does a two-bedroom apartment in Vancover?
kamikaze
How much would it approximately cost for a two bedroom apartment/condo in Vancouver?
I'm not looking for anything fancy, but nothing old, slum-like either and the neighborhood should be safe enough to roam freely at night and shouldn't be too far from downtown. I'm interested in Fairview or Burnaby.
What would be the price range for an apartment like that? (to rent and to buy respectively)
Answer
Renting a 2-bedroom apartment in Burnaby will set you back at least $1100 per month. The rents in Vancouver go up from there.
Condos would cost you around $300,000 as a minimum in Burnaby. In Vancouver the prices will be over $400,000.
Decorating my apartment with pictures question?
Tim R
Should I just stick with one collection? Or can I mix it up? Wasnt sure since it is a 1 br apartment. Like can Ihave 1 picture by the dining room table, one diff one near the living room, a couple diff in the bedroom?
Or should I just stick with one collection?
Ok thanks!
Answer
mix it up, do each room according to its style, color furnishings, flooring, etc.
i have black and white photos framed in chrome in my bedroom (sage walls), huge italian bistro framed posters in my kitchen (brick red walls), two Diego Rivera prints in my living room(tan walls),and a huge Aztec ceremonial mask on my ocher dining room wall.... each looks good in its own setting.
just try and avoid too many pics on one wall. just one pic or related group of pics per wall.
I need help with parents.?
FUSE
I finally got out of my parents house and moving into a new apartment along with a new job. Problem is i have absolutely no furniture. Ive always had this huge space consuming italian beige with marble top bedroom set that was a handmedown from my parents bedroom. My parents are offering to give it to me but inside i feel its too ugly and i dont want it. The other part of me is telling me to keep it and stop complaining cuz its free. Should i just tell me parents i dont want it and buy somethign my style or keep it and stop bitchin cuz its free?
I thought about telling them bt they keep telling me they are trying to get rid of it and have already came up with ideas on how to bring it to my apartment
Answer
I'm sure it can't be that bad. Why don't you take a look at these different bedroom collections and see what you can do to the stuff you already have to maybe re-style it. - http://bit.ly/coFCZR - there are lots of different ideas so i'm sure you'll be able to find one that you like.
Hope this helps you out! :-)
Should I be charging commmercial? What should I be charging?
Brooke E
Every friday we clean a building that houses 40 constuction workers. It has 9 bedrooms, each bedroom has 2 sets of bunkbeds, a refrigerator, it has a kitchen, a large living area, 4 showers, 2 bathrooms, we do their laundry using our gas to drive to the laundry mat, and the building itself is 40 ft X 50 ft. Right now we are making about $300 a month.
Answer
So if my maths is right you are charging them around $75 a week to clean the building ?
If this is US $75 it equates to about $150 NZ a week - for a building this large - if you are required to do all rooms I would say they are getting a very good deal.
I would suggest you ring around a couple of commercial cleaning places - anonymously ask them what they would charge for this size job - just say you are considering getting in cleaners but want some sort of idea on price first - you may find you can actually charge more - it is a big job.
WAKING UP LOOKING FOR THINGS, BUT I AM ASLEEP, BUT AWARE??? COMPLICATED?
ryankell
I have had this happen twice. After having my daughter, I awoke one night, but I was still sleeping, I sat up and ACTUALLY thought that my baby had a twin sister that was lost in the bed with us!! I got up and looked allover the room for her, moving everything! I snapped out of it and realized I had only one baby and fell asleep. It happened again, 2 weeks ago, I sat up, and started panicking looking for my cell phone and bookmark, which i new were no where near me, if this is sleep Paralysis I would`nt be able to move. If it was sleepwalking, I would be doing activities,but I am waking up LOOKING for objects. But totally sleeping..... It feels dangerous, like I can`t control my body or mind, but I am partially aware and able to remember everything! Please Help....
Answer
Looking for objects is still an activity. If you are worried about danger, install a contact alarm on you bedroom door, so that, once set, it will go off if you try to leave the bedroom, which should be rendered as safe as reasonably possible.
It may possibly be as a result of anxiety, ("After having my daughter") so I suggest that you go to page N, in section 6, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and try the free CBT, and hypnotherapy, or consider professional hypnotherapy; most people are suggestible, to some extent:
Currently, i live with my mother, until my husband returns home from overseas. Im pregnant, and i left the apartment we lived in when the lease was up. My mom can help me with my pregnancy, since he wont be home till december and im due in october. The apartments we lived in was 765 a month, all utilities included. Well, they only have 1 bedrooms, so im looking into 2 bedrooms, because of our child being born in october. I found one i really like, ive even toured the place. But its not set in stone yet, i want to look at other options out there. But what i really want to know is how much the average utility bill is. I forgot to ask because i was so excited. The 2 bed 1 bath is 800 sq ft, and the 2 bed 2 bath is 970 sq ft. Does anyone have an average price? We live in san antonio, tx if that helps :)
Answer
The only true answer would have to come from the utility company. You can call each one and ask what the average costs are on a address.
Maria
My bedroom is so small but it is full of furniture- two dressers, a book shelf, and a HUGE bunk bed. Right now it is looking horrible. I just need some CHEAP but cute idea's to re-organize and decorate it a little without it looking SQUISHY and UGLY!! It just is so plain right now. By the way it is a teen girl's room. Okay Thank You!
Answer
Put one of the dressers in your closet.
Use the other one for double duty as a dresser and an end table for your bed.
Nothing is less expensive that decluttering Your room and painting it a new color.
Let's keep it simple.
Bedroom furniture for teen boys?
webhead28
I need to fit two teenage boys into a 12 x 15 room. I want the room to have an uncluttered, modern look and I need ideas about how to furnish it. I was thinking about doing 2 twin beds, but they look so small. These boys are both bigger than I am when I was a teen, and I remember almost falling off my old twin bed more than a few times. 2 full beds would be better, but that would be a much tighter fit. I looked into bunk beds but don't like those because they seem more appropriate for much younger kids. What do you think?
Answer
do built in beds ...get the platform beds or make them...then you can use [extra long] xl twin mattress...and the good thing is they would be moveable especially if you put wheels on them...you can also buy xl sheet sets...once the boys leave hme you still have the platfoams tha you can make couches out of!
