I need to move a bedroom set to florida from va?

Q. Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to do this?

I have called allied and they said that moving companies wont move just a bedroom set and they have a 2000 pnd limit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A. Why not run ads in the paper?and offer some money.The area the bedroom set is in I would run an add there and place your phone number with it...
You could also run an ad here because people do drive back and forth constantly.

There are TONS of people who come here as snow birds and im sure they would bring it if their gas was being paid..i mean come on they are on fixed incomes.

How to paint over cheap wood veneer?

Q. I have our bedroom set that I would like to paint all a solid black color. Not shiny, just like a dull color. It is wood but on top of the wood is a cheap veneer finish. Right now the color is black and nasty orange fake wood color (two toned). I want an over all black elegant look. Should I sand it first and if so by hand or with a sander and what grit? should I use, also should I prime it and with what? Thanks

A. moonpie said kilz but better than that would be a latex primer like bullseye123. the latex primer has better adhesion, be careful with sanding not to go throw the veneer, better to wash clean and just prime.(this is the best if it is not real wood)

Q. I have a (cheap) white bedroom set with a smooth, lacquer veneer finish, that I'd like to put wallpaper on the front of the doors - how do I adhere wallpaper to it? Is it easier to just paint it?

A. You will need to sand the finish with a 220 grit or finer (the larger the number the finer the grit) You can use a pre pasted paper but additional paste may be in order. There are many self adhesive vinyls that are used for shelf liners which may be an option as the adhesive backing sticks to almost anything. If you paint you will need to sand and possibly prime depending on the finish coat color

Where would the best place be to rent furniture for the whole house at the cheapest rate?

Q. I am new to the Toledo area and just found an apartment. I am starting anew and need new couch, dinette set, and bedroom set (entertainment center w/ TV). I know about Rent-A-Center, Aaron's, and a few others that are commercial but was wondering if there was a cheaper way to go before I sign any contracts.

A. We have used Rent-a-Center. What's great baout them is, if you have to let it go back, you can start again at any time nd pick up where you left off. You don't lose anything. It has to be a similar thing though, like if you rented a washing machine and paid over half, then lost your job and had to let it go back, you can get another washing machine later and all the payments you paid before apply to the new one.
