Is this bedroom too small for a queen size bedroom set?

Q. I'm having trouble picturing furinture in empty bedrooms.

What size bedroom (LxW) is ideal for a queen size bed and standard, 4 piece bedroom furniture set. Let's say: a queen size bed, 1 normal, square nightstand, a double sided drawer dresser, and a chest.

Like this:

In a room, say 13x11 will all that fit with room to move around or will you be rolling out of bed bumping into the dresser because it's just one foot from the bed? And so forth?

This set is the most traditional in size and look with the drawer handles.

The way I see it, that bed is going to take up a 13x11 room and a nightstand will fit but the dresser and chest have no space in the room OR they will fit but it will be literally RIGHT next to the bedroom, half a foot away.

Am I crazy or will all this fit comfortably and if you need to get up to go to the bathroom you're not bumping into furniture because it's all crammed?
The dresser will be used for clothes and the counter top for jewelry and perfume and stuff.

The chest top will be used as a TV stand because a regular TV stand is useless. With the chest, you have drawers for extra clothes and stuff.

A. queen bed 7'x5'
nightstand 2'x1.5'
dresser 5'x1.5'
chest 3'x1.5'

It will depend on where the doors and window are, and whether you can put one side of the bed against the wall. Assuming no doors, windows, or closets, and the bed is in the corner, then you'll have no problem. If the side of the bed has to be at least 2.5-3' away from a wall, then you can't have anything on its sides except the nightstand. Remember you'll need room to open the drawers of the dresser and still stand in front of it. You should have room for a chair, too. Another dresser would be much more useful than the chest if you need the storage. Otherwise, eliminate the chest.

Make a floor plan with scale footprints of each item. For example, 1" can represent 1'. Then see how things fit. Remember to include windows, door swinging area, closets, etc.

A. I don't see a queen sized bed fitting comfortably in that room.
But to make sure you could make templates of the foot print of the furniture using taped together newspaper.
Then you can move it around easily until you get the look you want or decide what can stay and what has to go.

Which bedroom set should I get?
Q. I'm 17 years old and my room is a turquiose-teal color. I can't decide between modern and convenient :http://www.theroomplace.com/shared/pages/product/product.aspx?ItemId=195151&ChildItemId=239374

http://www.theroomplace.com/bedroom-furniture/bedroom/package-specials/torino-5-pc-queen-bedroom/218149.aspx

or something more traditional and elegant: http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=17577cd&DeptID=70752&CatID=70838&SO=0&PCatID=70752&CatSel=4294953300%7croom+collections&NOffset=2&Ne=949+4294957900+877+5+586+580+838+1021+8+1041+1273+18&CatTyp=RLE&Dep=FURNITURE&N=4294953300&Pcat=FURNITURE&Cat=Bedroom&Nao=0&PSO=0&bcCat=3&CmCatId=external|70838&sa=1

A. I say the second one... It is classic and will never get old unlike the first one. You may get tired of the first one plus the second one's color would go great with turquoise.
