Any ideas for decorating a teen bedroom on a budget using the colors blue and brown?

Q. My room has this comforter in it http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Microfiber-Stripe-Reversible-3-piece-Comforter-Set/3442836/product.html and my walls are a light shade of blue. My room is also pretty small. I need some ideas for decorating my room, I really don't know what to put on the walls. Any ideas?

A. Something Organic, Black and white photos, they will support the strong graphic theme without repeating it. hope this helps :)

I'm moving into a bachelor suite and would like some suggestions for decor?
Q. there's a slight nook for my bedroom furniture set (vanity/headboard/bed), am considering finding a floor flutter screen for some privacy/separation. Already have a huge 3-seater futon, but need to purchase all other furniture. Any space-saving suggestions or pieces I should look for that could function for everyday and entertaining (i don't do huge gatherings, but usually several friends). hope this makes sense, and any suggestions would be appreciated!

A. a folding table big enough to entertain but small enough to be out of the way when folded away.

a "cupboard" for your tv/music with doors that can shut it away when you want to hide it!

Under bed drawers for extra hidden storage.

Go for light colours to create a more spacious feel.

How Do You Remove Cigarette Smoke Smell From Furniture?
Q. I inherited a very nice bedroom set. But, the person who gave it to me was a heavy smoker. I would like to know what I can use to get ride of the smoke smell? Although I believe the outside of the pieces are sealed, the insides are not.
Just to clarify, this is all wood furniture, no upholstery is involved!

A. It's an Urban Legend that Febreze is hazardous to pets. Use it on upholstery only, not wood. Old news from 1998, so disregard that hazardous to pets thing all together - that is false. You can read about it on snopes, the urban legends reference page:
http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/febreze.asp

Wood will absorb odors without a doubt, so the parts have been finished will need a good cleaning, maybe 3 good cleanings, to get the years of nicotine off. I would start with cleaning it with Murphy's Oil soap, the directions are right on the bottle. It smells good and is an excellent wood cleaner. You dilute it with water and it's very gentle stuff.

If any of the furniture is upholstered, you can have that professionally steam cleaned to get rid of the smell. The same people that clean carpets can come to your home and clean anything else that is upholstered, so you might want to call and ask them about it.

Over time the smell does fade, but you'll have to keep up with the Murphy's oil soap to keep the wood nice and clean. I used it on wood floors and furniture. Go ahead and try febreeze on upsholstery, but keep it off the wood.

Best of luck to you.

Where is are with the most furniture shops here in Malaysia?
Q. Looking for bedroom set / dining table, cheap but sturdy something that can last for about 2-3 years will do. Thanks in advance.

A. Well, I don't know what would be cheap for you yet sturdy...

I would like to say IKEA but there are just some items there that are not sturdy like bookshelves and some tables...some items was bought at IKEA.

What my parents did was just kept on hunting around any furniture shops. Until they found quite some pieces...and at a affordable price too.
