Please Help Me! How can I access my PC files in my Mac though my Router Network?

Q. I can access the files that are in my Macintosh on my PC, but I can't do the oposite (access the files that are in my PC on my Macintosh). Please help me. I tried everything I found in the Internet someone please help me do this here. I believe this is all possible because I use a Router to divise my Internet connection for both computers (PC in the livin' room and Mac in the bedroom.) if I can give them Internet connection that means we are linked in a network that I can also send files. But how? How can I set it up? Please help. Many thanks in advance.

A. unless you're running a server operating system on your pc (windows 2000 server, 2003 server, etc), the only "easy" way i know of is to download and install a freeware or trial ftp server program for the pc. then you can ftp from the mac to the pc and download the files just like you would from the internet.

at least that's how i had to do it... but i was doing it back in the days of mac os 7 and 8. i'm not sure if there's something easier with X

Q. The main PC is in the front room and the second will be in my Brothers bedroom. I understand that he wants to have more access to the net on his own as all of the family wanting to use the PC at different times limits individual access. I am in the UK. What is the most effective and cheapest method

A. Has to be a wireless connection mate. Search www.ebuyer.co.uk for cheap wireless routers and go from there.

Otherwise, you could set up a LAN, but that means running a length of wire from one comp to the other.

Wireless is the way forward pal.

What punishment should i give to my daughter?

Q. I am not looking for opinions on "oh, don't punish her, she will rebel more." like i had in my last question about this. I want some advice on how to punish her for disobeying me.
I found out that my 15 yr old daughter was dating and she knows that she is not allowed to date until she is 18. She disobeyed so i'm going to punish her.
Any advice? by the way i'm using my other daughter's account.

A. give her a couple of weekends of lockdown a srict prison like punishment.

LOCKDOWN rules, no tv, no phone, no pc, no entertainment etc, no normal clothes, school clothes only, shirt tie etc.

LOCKDOWN timetable
FRIDAY she returns home from school is given dinner and is then locked in her room for the night,
ALL homework must be completed.
8 30 LIGHTS OUT AND BED.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
8 am UP AND DRESSED school clothes only.
9amAFTER BREAKFAST room cleaning
10am --- 12 30 pm LOCK UP AND PUNISHMENT ESSAYS your daughter is locked in her room and is set several essays to wright.
12 30 pm UNLOCK FOLLOWED BY LUNCH IN ROOM.
12 45PM -- 2 45 PM 2 HOURS HARD CHORES toilets cleaned ,floors scrubbed, washing up and ironing duties.
2 45 pm LOCK UP your daughter returns to her room and her bedroom door is locked, more essays and school work is set
5 pm UNLOCK followed by dinner in room
5 30 pm TOTAL LOCKDOWN she is locked in her room for the night
8 30 pm LIGHTS OUT AND BED

Looking for a bedding set?

Q. I am painting my room a moss green color, with dark brown trim and tan ceiling. We are putting black corner shelves in and putting plants on them. I want it to be earthy looking. The problem is, I can't find a bedding set that would correlate. Everything that is cute with brown in it also has blue, not green. I don't want stripes, and I don;t want a solid color, like just brown. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been looking for a long time to no avail. Thanks.
