How much money will I need to move to Germany?

Q. I need to know how much moo-la I will need to live in Germany. I mean after I get there. How much will I need for food and a place to live? How much do I need to make in a month/week to be able to live decently? I am going to be there for 2-3 years.

A. Well lets it does depend on the comfort you are looking for.if you are happy with a single bedroom and a shared kitchen or something, you may find something for 300-400euros,so lets say if you earn upto a 1000euros you will have enough money to manage the rest of the motnh. As food is a bit cheaper than in the UK,Holland,Belgium and France.
But lets say you want a 1 or 2 bedroom appartment, you will be safe when you make between 1200-1500 euros every month. (Normally you should ahve enough to pay gas, electricity, water, tax, food, phoenbills, intenretconnection and you can even set a bit aside)But please know all does depend on where you want t olive, example Berlin,in the middle of the centre is a lot more expensive than in the suburbs. or smaller towns.Thats a rule that applies all over the world.

Hope this helps.

How many bedrooms should we expect to get on base (AF)?
Q. My husband will commission as an Air Force officer in April and our first assignment will be in LA. He will just be a 2nd lieutenant and we are pregnant with our first baby (won't come until August). Does one child make a difference in the number of rooms you get on base as an 0-1?

I haven't been able to get an account with the AF Crossroads yet, but there seem to be a lot of military people on Yahoo Answers so I really appreciate your help!

A. you qualify for a 2BR.. that being said, 99% of the time there are no 2 BR units set aside for officers so you can expect to get a 3 BR.

technical rules are: under six share a room, under 12 same gender share a room and everybody 12 and up gets their own room. Practically speaking: stateside: one BR per kid, plus one for you.

assuming you can even GET on base housing. the waiting list can be quite long/... 2 years...

How much does it cost per month to live in Los Angeles?
Q. I hope to move out to L.A. this summer, and i have a couple thousand dollars. I am looking for a one bedroom apartment, and I will be splitting the cost of that with my roommate. I want to factor in costs such as groceries, transportation, and I want to live in a nice safe place. How much should I expect to pay per month?

A. You need a plan: First item on the agenda is rent. A decent 1BR apartment in LA currently goes for $1200, give or take. Nicer areas and areas closer to the beach are much higher. Don't expect to move to Santa Monica and get an apartment on the beach for that much. Or Toluca Lake, or Beverly Hills.

Next, you will need a car. Los Angeles is VERY spread out, and train service is extremely limited. If you don't have a car, you will have to take a bus, which takes 3 times longer to get anywhere than a car.

All told, it generally takes about $3,000 per month to live here. If you don't have a job that pays that much or skills that can get you that kind of job, stay where you are. If you are unskilled and work for minimum wage (or for tips like bartending or waiting tables), you'll only make about $1200 per month.

And speaking of jobs, they are rather hard to come by now. College grads seeking employment are having a very tough time of it right now, since the job market is flooded with experienced people who were laid off. Unemployment is over 12% right now. Not exactly the kind of job market you want to move into.

Finally, you will need money. Landlords want first month's rent and a security deposit up front. You'll need money for food, transportation, utilities, etc. The consensus in this forum is that you need about $7500 to start out.

So there's your plan. And please don't tell us that you have dreams of being an actor or singer. That sets off another alarm. We already have a million (literally) wannabe actors in this town. Dont even get me started.

What do you thinkg about the resorts shopping nightlife in mazatlan mexico?
Q. Has anyone stayed at El Cid El Moro Beach hotel? We booked a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom condo/villa for a week. Is the hotel up to date? How are the condos set up? How is the night life in and around the area of the resort? are there any malls/duty free shopping? Where can we find an affordable fishing charter? where are the good spas restaurants and clubs? are the Deer, stone and bird islands worth visiting?

A. ummm nope i usually stay with family over there but the night life is great they have a nice club that looks like a castle its called el valentine it always has a good amount of people always packed during spring break mazatlan has the biggest natural bord walk and theres always something to do there the beaches are Beautiful. for shopping i would go to el cenrto always see tourist there. for stone island or "isla de la perda" i dont go there for the wild life but the beach is nice there fun with the bananas (youll see wat i mean) and the fresh sea food is amazing you can also rent atvs and just go riding around the community there. now for fishing if you guys just wana catch something and have a good time and a good meal i recommend the bibi fleet in marina mazatlan its not too pricey but i dont look like a tourist so the price may change but it should be about150 for 5 hours good sight seeing good fishing try to haggle with the price so you wont get ripped off go to marina mazatlan shop#8 . food is great panama is a good restaurant shouldn't be hard to find just ask people its popular with the tourist. have fun mazatlan is nice hope you enjoy your self mostly evey thing is on the bord walk the clubs real close
