How do I price items for a yard sale?

Q. I have what I consider to be a lot of "high ticket" items. Bedroom furniture (entire set), end tables, bedroom dresser, vanity, bedding sets (which originally cost $150), expensive sweaters, etc.

What is considered "fair" pricing?

A. If you really want to get rid of all of your stuff, price it to sell...that means at such a bargain that a yard sale shopper will buy it just because its a great deal...don't forget that this is used stuff...you should depreciate it in your mind first....a used bedroom set could have cost 1000 dollars new, but used...sell it for 200 dollars and someone will buy it, if its in great condition....Your bedding sets that cost 150, should go for 25-30 dollars...its all used and yard sale mentality....You could also start at a higher price and go lower if someone is interested, but feels its too expensive....If you want to get rid of the stuff.....price it low!!! People do not shop yard sales to pay Walmart prices for used stuff, even if its high end....they can go to the bigger discount stores and get it new.

whats the average of apartment rent in new zealand and whats the hippiest place i can stay.?
Q. im planning to stay in new zealand for a month or maybe 1yr or more, im just gathering some details how much is the average i mean real average (not high end), cost of apartment rental furnish or unfurnish, and whats the most hip area in the country at the same time i can also have some outdoor activities.

A. The hippest area in nz is ponsonby in Auckland. It is an old but affluent trendy inner city suburb. Quite kiwi as well full of arty trendy urban liberal types with great cafes and only 15 minutes walk to cbd and waterfront infact it looks down over it. Lots of parks nearby and water. But to get to a surfing beach you need to drive 30 minutes to piha. The cbd is full of immigrants and backpackers if thats your thing but it lacks soul and you wont meet many kiwis. If you want to surf and laze in the sun then go to tauranga 2 hours south of auckland,Its our 5th largest city and is a surfing and beach style resort town. Lots of culture and friendly laid back people. Rent in Auckland can be steep. Flating with 2 others will set you back $150-170 per week in kiwi dollars in the trendy areas. one bedroom studio or flat in the cbd is $220-350 per week. You can get studio flats in suburbs just outside the cbd like mt eden or mt albert for $180. Ponsonby, newmarket, remuera and kingsland are expensive innercity suburbs. The best place is herne bay and st marys bay in auckland but they are mega wealthy.

Looking for way to set up an outdoor camera at my door where I can see who is there from multiple locations?
Q. One to two cameras to be used but I need to see from more than one location in the home. Don't really need to record anything, just need to to see who is there. I already have an intercom buzzer but I would like to see who is there from the bedroom, from the kitchen, from the great room and basement.

A. An outdoor wired camera is best. You could also use a wireless camera but remember most of them need still have to be plugged in. Wireless cameras also present other transmission problems.

Which ever you choose you can feed the signal in to your home cable using a modulator. It simply takes the camera signal and gives it a channel, usually at the higher end, say in the 70's. Then you could turn on any TV to that channel and see who's there. Each camera could be modulated to a different channel. If you have cable boxes or digital cable boxes then you need a bypass filter for each as these devices usually block out modulated signals.

Out side of a modulator system then you would have to have a monitor in every room.

Where to Buy Furniture For a Babys Room?
Q. My pregnant wife is on strict bed rest and she has asked me to take a stab at decorating our babys room. My better half has great taste and I want to surprise her with a terrific nursery. Can anyone recommend a high end store that sells baby furniture?

A. I would try Babies R Us...not exactly a really fancy store, but they have some very nice things and helpful salespeople...they might suggest things that you really need but don't know that you need. They have a wide variety of price ranges in the furniture too.

The basics for the baby's room are crib, dresser, changing table, and -optional-a chair with an ottoman or a rocking chair for night feedings.

You can buy the baby's bedding as a set...but you should buy three or four extra sheets also...because until you get good at changing diapers, they will leak. The comforter that comes with the crib set isn't for use in the crib until they're at least 1, but it makes a nice wall decoration and also helps absorb some sound if it's on the wall.

Read about childproofing the baby's room before you start decorating...better to have it as part of your plan than to have to go back and do it later.

Keep in mind that at first, a bassinet in your bedroom may be where your wife's most comfortable keeping the baby...I know a lot of people who've decorated a gorgeous nursery...and a year later, the baby's still sleeping in the parents' room.
