Do parakeets need to live in a very quiet setting?

Q. I just got a parakeet and i've had it for 2 days now. I put its cage in the bedroom and i keep the door shut, but my house can get a bit noisy with a 2 year old son and since my house is kinda small the tv can be heard from the bedroom (along with the hair dryer and vacuum and things like that). Could this permanently traumatize him? Or will he eventually get used to the noise?

A. Yes. Birds hate the quietest of noises. Taking care of a parakeet is like taking care of senior citezen. This means no more running around, or screaming, or watching television. Put all of his food in a blender and put a spout on top of his cage. Pour the blended mix down the spout and he'll catch it. Your new bird is also going to need a Hover-Round for parakeets (Small version) and a pair of glasses for enhanced vision. Be sure to remember to give him his daily medicine and sometimes offer him the treat of your own diarrhea. Listen to what I say and you will find yourself with a calm, stuffy, fancy bird.
