I have to do a Triple Venn Diagram for one of my classes, but I dont really know what the differences are. What do you find in a Rural Community, that you dont see in an Urban Community? What do they drive? What do people live in over there? (Apartments, condos, houses, etc.) Helppp pleaseeeee?

Answer
Rural is large tracts of land with plenty of Farms. Average land holding is 50 acres or more.
Urban is City Living with apartment buildings and heavy traffic
Suburban is a bedroom community for a major city.
They drive cars since the USA has roads every where.
Look up New York State. New York City is a Urban setting with High rises, condos, co ops, town houses and private homes. Most use public transportation since parking spaces are at a premium.
Long Island is a Suburban community with people for the most part working in the City. They drive and use public transportation. Then look at upstate NY roughly 250 miles from the city and you see Dairy Farms, State Land, Produce Farms, lakes, streams. Drive cars since no public transportation.

Where's the best place to stay in the US Virgin Islands, St. Thomas?

Lorraine P

I am planning a trip to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands in August. Where is the best place to stay and why? Are there any sites and/or excursions that I must see/try before leaving? The trip will be part relaxation, part adventurous, and part romantic. No children traveling with us.

Answer
When I went to St. Thomas we stayed at Marriott Frenchmans Reef and Morningstar Resort. Frenchmans Reef is the actual hotel and Morningstar are little cubic cottages located directly on the beach. You have access to the hotel; however, its a long, but scenic, walk up many flights of steps. Direct next to Frenchmans Reef and Morningstar Resort is another Marriott property. It is called Marriott Frenchmans Cove. This is a timeshare property; however, you can rent through http://www.redweek.com. This is what we used for when we went to Aruba this summer. From 8/05/11 to 8/12/11 it's $214 per night at Frenchmans Cove for a two bedroom villa with a kitchen.(Having a kitchen will save you A LOT of money.) I recommend you rent a car to be able to explore the whole island(and go to the grocery store and go shopping! Trust me alcohol there is half the price!). Somethings you must do/see.

Beaches:
Magens Bay: Beautiful heart-shaped beach. Voted one of the top ten in the world.
Lindquist Beach: Beautiful stretch of beach, our personal favorite.
Sapphire Beach: There were so many different shades of blue and good snorkeling here too! (bring your own snorkels and pack them in your suitcase).

Shopping:
In downtown Charlotte Amelie by where the cruise ships are there is a nice shopping center (duty-free)
Near there is a thing we called "Tent City". It is just a bunch of tents where vendors set up this is where we bought all of our souvenirs for VERY cheap!

Restaurants:
Hooters was pretty good, i LOL'd at the mini casino in it.
Glady's Cafe was a little hole-in-the-wall place downtown in an ally. Great food!
Havana Blue, upscale gourmet dining at Marriott. Very pricey.

Attractions/Things to do:
Paradise Point: a skyride in downtown nice little bar and restaurant at the top. great views of the island.
Parasailing: Amazing. The colors of blue you can see when you're up in the air!
Ferry to St. John: Take the car barge to St. John, a neighboring US virgin island. It's 42 round trip to take your car over to the island. Stay for the day and hit up Trunk Bay. THIS IS THE BEST BEACH IN THE CARIBBEAN, i promise you! There is an underwater snorkeling trail. This is the best snorkeling ever and the bluest water I have ever seen.
