How should i decorate my soon-to-be new room?

Im 14 turning 15 in about 3 weeks and i am getting a new bedroom set for my birthday which brand is lily opus( you can look it up) and i was wondering what things should i get that are COLORFUL and cool that i would like. Ex: posters, speakers for ipod 4th G, earring holder and anything else i could decorate my room with

Pick a colour (for example, my room is blue and green with blue-green walls) you would pick the colour. Then, you can add a bed, dresser, and any furniture. Pick a colour for ALL furniture (for example, white). All your furniture AND floors should be the colour you chose (for example, white).

Now pick a setting, for example:

Stripy
Polk-a-dot (check out this site: http://teensthemes.com/polka-dots/circles-dots-polka-dots-decorating-ideas.html )
An animal pattern
And anything else

And make your walls with different stickers (can get them in Walmart, Target, any place like that.) and add everything to add to your walls. Now, if you have a window, add curtains.

JUST TO TELL YOU: If you choose an animal print for your room, don't make everything in your room animal print: way too busy!! If you want an animal print, add maybe the bedcovers, your rug and any little things wih it BUT make your walls less busy with stickers and stuff. Or you could just make it plain.

Next, add your rug. There are really cool little circle rugs you can get. If you get 3-5, you can place them all over your room. But, with a MAIN rug in the middle. Use bright colours for your rugs and curtains.

TIP 4 PAINTING: Paint your ceilling WHITE. If you paint it the colourof the walls, the room looks smaller. Also, the colour white does NOT make a room look bigger...One more thing, a focal point looks REALLY COOL!!! (If you don't know, a focal point is one wall that is a different colour than the rest: White or any other colour that stands out is COOL!!!!

Now it is time to add DECORATIONS!!!

In Dollarama, you can get really AWESOME paper lanterns which come in pink, yellow, blue and green. Now add them to a clear string and put it on ONE wall of your room where it is less busy.

In Claire's, you can get awesome earring holders, and also just normal jewelery holders. There are so many things in Claire's that you can get!!!

Also, a great thing to have in your room is a bean bag OR a small couch. They are comfy and so GREAT!!!

Add some hangers in your room for coats, hats and stuff. You can buy really cool one in ANY store.

If you have a closet and you want to add a curtain/closet doors, add bright curtains, they are COOL! BUT: If you have curtains on your window, it looks cool, but a little copying, kind of. If you want curtains on your closet, then add blinds for your windows: white ones are good. Also, if you want to add closet doors, you can get mirror ones. They are AWESOME!!!!

Add posters of favorite singers and other stuff: actresses, movies, singers, animals, etc.

Here's an idea: If you take an old poster that you don't want and flip it around, you can tape and add pictures, souvenirs, anything you want!!! It's awesome!!!

Can you buy individual pieces of furniture from American Freight?

Can I buy just a mattress from American Freight or do I have to buy it as part of a bedroom set? In their ads it always lists the prices for when the mattress is bought as a part of a three piece set, but I was wondering if for a higher price I could just buy a mattress. Thanks!!
