How can i re-decorate my bedroom? But im not aloud to paint it?

Q. Have anyone got any ideas to re-decorate my bedroom. But my parents wont let me paint it again untill next year lol. I am thinking of buying new duvet and pillow covers, new mirror, wall clock and making everything modern. but this will take a long time to save up for and i am quite skint :L Thanks. Everything is considered and helpful :D x
Also...does anyone know where i can get really nice bedroom mirrors and duvet covers that are really modern and cheapish. x

A. The thing that is going to "refresh" your room the most and give it the best new look is going to be the bedding. That makes your bedding top priority, so you should set aside most of the money for that. These are a few of my suggestions that should change it up the most for the least amount of money:

4-piece set that includes comforter, bedskirt, and two shams.

8-piece set includes duvet cover, 2 euro shams, bedskirt and 2 decorative pillows. This one is my favorite and the least expensive at $59.99

Your accents should be a bold color, to help play up the modern look, but they also need to correspond with your bedding. For the mirror (I'm assuming you meant a wall mirror) I found this.

$18.00 black wall mirror:

For the clock, I love this one, and I think it will really help with the modern feel:

To soothe the tone a little and make it a more relaxing atmosphere, I reccomend one of these candlegardens:

You also might consider getting posters or wall art and maybe a floor plant (like a palm tree). For the posters, go to

They have a lot of really nice, inexpensive posters. Some come in frames.

Good luck and I hope I helped! :)

How can you maximise space in a 7'x8' bedroom without a loft bed?
Q. I'm moving into a new house, and have had to take the smallest bedroom. We won't really be able to afford new furniture so I'll have to make do with the bed I have (a single with drawers underneath for storage) How can I maximise space for study and relaxing?

A. A bedroom 7 feet by 8 feet is a real challenge. Put the bed against the back wall and the side wall. Next to the bed put a desk about 4 feet wide.

On the desk, place a lamp on the end close to the bed so you can use it to read by when you're in bed and close enough so you can turn it on and off.

Across from the bed about 2 feet away from the desk, put your dresser, about 4 feet high so you can put a television set on top of it and watch it from the bed.

Have everything the same color, except for a bright toss pillow om the bed and your wall hangings, posters or pictures. This last is very important. Make sure they are bright and fun to look at. Travel posters are useful for this. If the walls are a pearl white, the furniture will be best painted the same color, the headboard, the desk, and the dresser. Bedspread and curtains should be white or gray.

Or paint your walls a soft yellow, and use the same color for the headboard, desk, dresser. The bedspread and the curtains can be the same color or a little bit darker.

The other choice for color schemes that can work out nicely are soft gray and taupe. Just remember to keep everything the same color, just varying the intensity.

Where can I get cheap things to decorate my sons room?
Q. Ok I'm moving to a new apartment and my son is going to finally get his own bedroom. He just turned 4 years old and I have no idea where to look for cheap things to decorate his room. His favorite characters are disney cars and thomas the train..me and my husband are on a budget...and we all know disney cars and thomas are not cheap. so any ideas?

A. I would avoid the actual Disney charecter stuff. Not only is it a little expensive, there is a good change he'll complain it is too babyish in two years. Plus, he already had toys with those charecters.

To save money, get stuff you could see in an 8 year old's room.

Bedding I think works for a 4 year old and an older boy:

For wall art, posters make a big impression. I reccomend picking posters that will fit in frames the same color as the furniture. That way later on you can just change the posters.

If the furniture is dark brown in his room, you can get this frame set for $30 http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=16566594&RN=88 You could get these:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28186176

for $44.00
