How high should I price my Bedroom set?

Q. I have a bedroom set that I'm looking to sell, I want to get as much out of it as possible, but don't want to over price it. Included is a fairly large night stand, with 2 drawers, a long dresser with 7 drawers, and a bed frame that could either be queen or full.. but I would include my queen mattress and box frame. All is in good condition, the only thing that's wrong with it is there's a small ring on the night stand. I'm pretty sure it is the Thomasville brand, I know it is a name brand, but it's in storage and I cannot remember which it is.

A. go to craigslist and look at what other people are selling there stuff for and look at the pictures too - it should give you an idea of what to sell yours for and then you can post and sell yours on craigs list for free

A. Have you ever tried the online service called freecycle? You list what you have for pickup and then you list what you need and look at the other listings to see if others have also listed those same items.

No one pays on either end of the deal. It works great if they have it in your town or a nearby larger town.

A. A good one will cost several hundreds if you are very very savvy, to $1000 and up. Anything less, and I would look verrry carefully at it, you could regret it quickly as the quality is likely to be poor.

Go to your library and look up Consumer Reports Magazine back issues, look for their past mattress buying advice article. They tell what makes up a good mattress, usually higher coil count =more firmness. Comfort is a personal preference.

If you need just a mattress (and not a set), or don't care that they match, you can find those in mis-match sales or end of season sales (they change the fabric).

I am not a fan of foam mattresses, pillow tops, or any kind of anything padded extra, as you can add more but you can't remove it if it is part of the mattress, something I regret with the tempurpedic-foam mattress I have and hate.

I got this bed frame with storage underneath for my teen's mattress, and it holds it at the height of a normal bed-with-box-spring. It is very firm, and can make up for a poor quality mattress because it is SO firm, but you may not want that as it sounds like you already have a bed frame? I include info on it because some folks use this frame with a latex foam mattress (all foam like sleep number/ temperpedic, etc.) and say a platform like this is all they need (no boxspring). A. Having just moved into my first apartment, I can attest to the necessity of the following items. Feel free to e-mail me, and I can tell you more about my moving experiences. You can get a lot of this stuff (in decent condition), used at Goodwill or Craigslist (if it�s popular in your area). I�m assuming your place comes with a fridge, stove and microwave.

Kitchen:
Saucepan, strainer, salt, pepper, other spices (depending on how much you like to cook), plates/bowls, silverware, spatula, trashcan, knife set, paper towels, drying rack, glasses, pot holders, hand towel, dish soap, sponge

Dining room:
Table and chair set (when buying this, keep in mind how much space you have vs. how many people you�d like to seat�maybe you only need a two-person table, or perhaps you need one that has a lot of leaves for guests), napkins

Living/TV room:
Comfy nap couch, chairs (try to get two matching ones�it adds more balance to the room when you have things in pairs), TV stand, TV, DVD/VCR (don�t get a combo TV/DVD/VCR�if one component breaks, you�ll have to replace the whole unit) bookshelf (unless your place comes with a lot of storage), coffee/end table, lamps (get ones that put light down in the room, not ones that shine light up).

Bathroom:
Shower curtain, rug, medicine cabinet things (antacid, pain reliever, band aids, cold medicine), toothbrush holder, toothbrush, toothpaste, trash can, hand towels, bath towels (don�t get the super cheap ones, even if they�re a great deal�they�ll drop tons of lint�trust me, I know), toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, hand soap

Vacuum, dust clothes, dust pan/broom, mop, bucket, detergent, clothes basket, dryer sheets, trash bags, telephone, desk/desk chair

A. The original part of my home is 1033 square feet. that part has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, dining area and kitchen. I don't go into the addition much since it is down to just me after the last daughter left a few years ago. You should be OK. I can get a queens sized in the mid sized room and have a queen in my room with plenty of room for a King.
