Brittany

I have a 5 month old Siamese/domestic cat that I rescued when she was about a week old. She was found abandoned and i took her in, bottle fed her and fell in love with her so I kept her. For the first 2 months she was too small to jump up onto our bed and she didn't understand the concept of scratching. The third month I was on vacation and took her with me and she never scratched at anything. She loves to play but she used to not scratch. When i got home from vacation i bought her a cat tree and she loves it. She started scratching at the bottom of it (which i have mo problem with). My cat used to sleep in my bedroom with me and my husband but About a month ago I put up a wardrobe in my bedroom and she started clawing at it and it wakes us up all through out the night. So I started closing the door and leaving her to have the rest of the house when we go to sleep. Only one problem. She scratches at our bedroom door. If we let her in she goes straight to the wardrobe and scratches that. If we don't let her in she continues to scratch and doesn't stop. I've tried spraying her but my cat LOVES water so she thinks its a game. I put her cat tree next to the bedroom door since she likes to scratch the tree also but it doesn't help. We are renting the house and I can't put any kind of foil or tape on the door. I've tried leaving the bathroom door open with water at a slow drip from the faucet in the sink since she likes water but she comes back a few hours later and forgets about the water. I need help!!!!!

Answer
I love challenges like this. Now, where she has scratched the wardrobe is where she has put her scent on the wardrobe. So you need to remove that scent, by soap and water. Then, there are a couple of approaches. If she has scratched on just one area, then try blocking it off by something heavy. Or use double sided sticky tape on the area. She won't like that.

Clearly, you cannot keep the door closed, or she will cause more problems. Now there are approaches to keeping her away from the door, but those are not often successful. Sometimes foil down before the door will stop her from walking on it. But she may ignore it. There are motion sensors you can set up that will emit a hiss to keep her away from the door. The hiss is from a shot of compressed air. (SSSCat spray is one)

If a mouse has been under my wardrobe, do I need to clean down there?

Ian

A mouse got into my bedroom last night, and spent a long time underneath the wardrobe where, aside from hiding whenever I moved, it sounded like it was trying to burrow through the floor.

This morning I've had a look under there with a torch and can't see any evidence of its being there - no droppings from the looks of it, but if it was there for a good couple of hours is it likely to have contaminated the space, and will it start to smell? Should I be getting the wardrobe moved so I can clean the carpet?

Answer
I would set up a few traps and see if you have any luck catching it. If you catch it or in about week I'd then I'd sweep because it might go underneath tonight. Good Luck

How much money should I ask for my used clothes on Ebay?

Q. Saying 'used' sounds kind of gross. Most of what I'm selling has either not been worn at all or has been worn maybe once or twice. How much should I set my minimum bit for? For shirts? Jeans? Dresses? Shoes? What percent of the retail value I mean. Would having picures up significantly increase my number of bidders?

A. I sold nearly my entire high school and middle school wardrobe on eBay and used the money to purchase a whole new wardrobe for college/work, so it can be done. I charge about $6 - $8 per shirt. Unless it's is a really expensive brand like Anthropologie or J.Crew, you won't get any more than that. For dresses, you can charge $15 - $20 and shoes $8 - $12.

Take lots of photos. Try modeling your clothes, invest in a dress form, or photograph them in a nice staged area. I built a little photo studio in my bedroom.

What clothes should be hung and which should be folded?
Q. Hey Guys,

Additional information will be added if necessary!
Thank you!

How to completely change my style without seeming like a poser?
Q. I guess I'll get this out of the way, for years I've lived in sweats and such, and I've been getting things to change my style into that of a tumblr girl. II really love what I'm becoming because it feels like it's my style. No, I'm not a poser. I'm not doing this to be cool or liked. I'm doing this because I genuinely want to and I love the style. Because I am very socially anxious and awkward I have no clue how to change my style without people notice the transition.

I have everything need (skinny jeans, leggings, sweaters, red lipstick, mascara, thick brown hair and the base of a bedroom, complete with a bed, desk and book case) but I am puzzled as to what to decorate my bedroom with, and as to what else I can incorporate into my wardrobe to complete my desired style. Also, if you have any hair/makeup tips, that would be extremely helpful, but I think I can manage by myself if you don't have any.

Just to help you, this is a link to a room I like:
http://data.whicdn.com/images/47489225/tumblr_mfrpjqi7re1qjgz4ho1_500_large.jpg
And here's a link to some clothes I like:

http://www.polyvore.com/sdfghjhyuasdhjsf/set?id=63380817

So just to recap: how to start/do the whole change, any style tips and decorating tips would be appreciated.

Thank you so much ^_^

A. I don't think people will just immediately assume you're a poser, people change their styles all the time, it's just something you do until you find out what you like.

I changed my style about a year ago, and i just went right into it. It's a little easier if you start your change right after a break or a weekend, because then you've been away from people for a little bit and then you just come back all new. I'd just jump right in, your style is a way to express yourself, and if you think this style is you then show everyone else that :)

Style tips:
--maybe dye the tips of your hair, that seems to be pretty popular among my tumblr friends
--wear beanies :)
--fun shoes also seem to be pretty popular for this look (heels, boots, or patterned flats)
--i think the red lipstick look only works well if you have a fair complexion
--piercings are also pretty popular with this look, but you don't have to go that far

Honestly just have fun with the look, don't get so wrapped up in what the style actually is, just make it your own

Room Ideas:
--take a bunch of sharpies (or paint) and write your favourite quotes or poems or lyrics on the the walls
--christmas lights
--print out allll your favourite photos and make a photo wall
--my friend decorated a whole wall with sticky notes with reminders of her favourite things or memories.

good luck!

I put in a secret webcam and caught my 12 year old son dancing around in one of my sexy bra and?
Q. bikini panty sets and also wearing my cocktail dress and heels! It was both Hilarious and very weird!

I suspected someone had been into my lingerie but I was hoping it was one of his younger sisters.

What would you do?

A. Personally, I would do nothing. Making a big deal out of stuff like this often ends badly. Furthermore, telling him that you've been "spying" will knock a major dent in his trust. You don't want everyone to have that creepy "watched" feeling all the time, do you? On the other hand, I'm sure that you don't want to share your wardrobe with your son, so just discreetly get a lock for your bedroom door and if anyone asks about it, say that you think someone's been getting into your stuff. Ultimately, I think confessing to the webcam will make everyone feel angry and betrayed.

Q. i want to get rid of the fitted wardrobe in my room. cant afford to get someone to do it for me and i want to do it by myself. this is no joke.

lol it is really huge and ugly, i dont know who on earth could have bought the thing but it was already fitted by the previous owner when we moved into the house.

A. -snickers-
If it makes you feel better your problem is not unuiqe. My mom had furniture she hated to. I would say set fire to the blasted thing but that might have lasting effects you really dont want so- this i would say no too. I know pretend to have one of your friends steal it ;)

How to have a scene bathroom and bedroom?
Q. ok so im redoing my room. im scene. i love neon colors and bright things. what color should i paint my walls? im a girl and im 13. im also redoing my bathroom, any good sights for scene girl bedroom and bathrooms? and comforters, wall colors, hangings, accesoreis for room? thanks
Gabby

A. BRIGHT ELECTRIC purple feature wall. The rest of the walls are light blue but that is the colour of my entire house so just do white. I have Zebra pattern anywhere I can. You can also use fluro-ish leapord spots. This looks hectic. FLUFFY cushion EVERYWHERE! I have a random Giraffe statue in my room and 2 albino stuffed tigers (FAKE...like a toy...not real)
Bright coloured or leapord/zebra bed spread looks kool and I have a BIG random silver curtain on one wall (even tough there are no windows.....i just pull it back to reveal photos of all my friends)
I also have these awesome antique set of draws which looks kool and a random set of stairs. don't know why but I love random things.
I have a set of black angel wings on my wall but you could also use cute fairy wings.

My friend got lots of random labels, brosures ETC and stuck them with blue tack on one wall. Free awesome feature wall was created.

and one thing you NEED (but i don't have *cries*) is a beanbag.

Hope this helps

Look out for some really cool, vintage furniture pieces at charity stores or whatever, get some really classic, unusual curtains too, or you could make some out of fabric from a fabric store, pick out some that you like which could be black (black would make good curtains).

Get a load of posters of bands you like and stick them up on the walls, depends where you live, but AllPosters.co.uk has a large selection and their prices are quite fair, so you could take a look there.
As for paint, I'd say hot pink - or maybe you could wallpaper one wall - I saw this one scene girl's bedroom and she had hot pink and white striped wallpaper, which looked really cool.

Also, you should hang a load of your clothes off the front of your wardrobe, that can really improve a room. You could get a string of christmas tree lights too and string them up (they'll be cheap this time of year).

I think that would be a good start. Hope I gave you a few ideas :)

A black and white theme is cool with pops of neon colors!
Try painting your walls a neutral gray.
If you can get drak or black furniture.
Top your bed witha white bedspread or one with blacka nd white or a really bright comforter.
Add lots of pillows in bright neon colors and incorporate through your room with accessories.
Try investing a cool chandeleir.
For a cool way to store your memories get a huge frame(they have them at places like walgreens)
Paint the peice of cardboard black and splattter with neon colors and silver and place pictures on there
Also have lots of posters!

What would a closet need to have to consider it a conforming closet in a bedroom?
Q. Does it need to be enclosed? Does it need to have certain componets to constitute a closet? (i.e.enclosed by sheetrock or other means, or can you just set up a closet organizing system and not enclose it?? I realize 'conforming' may mean different in various locations. Much thanks in advance!

A. I have never heard of the term 'conforming' used in relation to wardrobes (i'm in oz) but have what should be built in robes in my bedroom. Everything necessary to consider them 'built in wardrobes' is there - except the doors. This makes them feel more like shelving units with some hanging space. It also makes the room look very untidy ALL of the time. If you are going to do the job - do it right! Get all the bits necessary to do the job properly and don't skimp, you'll regret it, and it will devalue your property.

Is it safe to have free weight set upstairs?
Q. I have a weight bench, olympic bar ( 35 lbs. ), and a lot of weight plates. They range from 3-like 53 lbs. and are in pairs. Is it safe to keep them upstairs in a bedroom? The home is only about 6 years old. Thanks a lot, God bless!

A. Of course: think how much a person/s, bed, wardrobe, desk, etc etc would weigh, i.e. things you'd normally find in a bedroom. Considerably more in total than the weight set.

The only thing I would suggest is that it mightn't be the best idea to keep the weights in a stack near the bench and bar. Spread the weights out into smaller piles.

What is the general layout of an English boarding school's dorms?
Q. I'm writing a book set in an English boarding school and was wondering how a dorm is usually laid out, such as size, whether or not the bedrooms are connected to a commonroom and so on.

A. Common room, small kitchen, staff office and smaller common room downstairs, upstairs, rooms with 1-4 people in, along a corridor. Trust me, I go to boarding school :D

Dorms have a bed, drawers, wardrobe and desk each.

Just a curious question. How many women out there would oppose there man wearing female clothes?
Q. i have this odd desire to wear women clothes but dont know if that would typically bother any partner. Now the setting for wearing these would be strictly in the bedroom. not an all day sort of thing.

A. Let me say this in passing..
As a long time married cross dresser with a very supportive, understanding, accepting, knowledgeable and helpful wife who has taught me all the traits of emulating women to the nines, including presentation, walking, standing, sitting, mannerisms, make up, nails, hair etc., and I currently have a vast / extensive wardrobe including 42 pair of HIGH HEELS (and I do mean HIGH) - that IF MORE S/O s (wives, girlfriends, etc) were to understand what cross dressing is all about, it'd be a far better world, and a more relaxing atmosphere for those who DO cross dress, in the fact that it would surely eliminate all the pussy footing that goes on with people.
The first thing out of the g/g s mouths when they are not of such a accepting / understanding situation is "HE'S GAY"...
This is so far from the truth, it's not even a point to be discussed except to say without understanding and acceptance the "sneaking around" will continue, so if one day by "accident" you happen to discover some femme attire that you know isn't;t yours, YOU could have prevented all the surprise (s)
