reorganization in my bedroom.?

Me

ok.i have a bunk-bed in my bedroom.it takes up say fraction-wise 4-5ths of my room.this is not including my closet.i will be getting a bedroom set.when you ask.i have no clue.for now i need space and everyone criticizes me of my room looking a mess.i am not a messy person but with no room to clean and place things.what can i do please help.ALL I ASK OFF IS THAT YOU ONLY ANSWER MY QUESTION.AND DO NOT ASK FOR ALL OFF THE MEASUREMENTS AND SUCH. THANKS.please also suggests things that i can purchase that's in-expensive.thanks

Answer
Get rid of the mattress on one of the beds. Take the one you don't sleep on out and replace the mattress with a piece of plywood. Beg, borrow or steal some containers and turn that space into a storage area.

You will probably have enough space there for several large totes and possibly some drawers. This should give you ample storage for extra clothes, toys, and assorted junk.

The cheap way to do this is to use the bottom bunk for storage and find some fabric to hang which will hide the whole mess. This is cheaper because you can save on the storage totes by just getting cheap plastic ones at WalMart. But then you're stuck sleeping on the top bunk...

You can do the same thing to the top bunk, but the expense is more if you want your room to look nice. Nice containers are more expensive than fabrics. However, you can get artsy and find some cheap containers and shelving and try to decorate them so they don't look like you have a pile of totes on the top bunk.

Now, if you're handy with tools, you could curtain off the top bunk completely, throw some boxes up there to store your stuff, and be done with the whole issue...

Good luck

Cute themes for teenage girls bedrooms?

Jordan

I am not a mother tying to find a cute theme for her teenage daughter's bedroom, no this time it's the teen girl that's asking herself. For my birthday this year, my parents are letting me redo my room (with the exception o my furniture). I'm still working on at least getting a new bed, but amongst that I have to figure out how I want to theme my room. I already have a few ideas: a candy shop theme, and a simple purple, blue, and pink theme--my walls are light purple. The candy shop theme came from the fact that I have a jolly rancher pillow and a twizzlers pillow, both from hershey park. I would like more ideas, if you have any...oh and please, no links for answers. You ca give links, but make sure you give your ideas/opinions too!
Thanks in advance for all the creative ideas!

What Import taxes & duties must i pay customs when importing furniture to the U.S at my local seaport?

What duties and taxes must i pay if i want to import furniture products such as bedroom sets and living room sets hotubs... and things similar to that. I am picking them up for my seaport in Portland, OR. I'm asking because I would like to start a business in the U.S selling furniture but must bring my products from overseas.

Answer
The below information comes from page 3 of the below enclosed website for your use at this time and it does have 19 pages.

http://www.msbdc.org/publications/importing/USimportrequirements.pdf

Arrival of Goods
Imported goods may not legally enter U.S. commerce until the shipment has arrived within the
port of entry and Customs has authorized delivery of the merchandise. This is normally
accomplished by filing the appropriate documents, either by the importer or by the importer's
agent. To expedite this process, Customs entry papers may be presented before the merchandise
arrives, but entry will not take place until the merchandise arrives within the port limits.
The Customs Service does not notify the importer of the arrival of the shipment. The carrier
of the goods usually makes notification of arrival. Arrangements should be made to ensure that
the importer or their agent is informed immediately of arrival so that the entry can be filed and
delays in obtaining the goods avoided.
The Customs Service defines "entry" not merely as the arrival of goods at a port, but as the
process of presenting documentation for clearing goods through Customs. Imported merchandise
not entered through Customs in a timely manner (within 15 calendar days of arrival) is sent by
Customs to a general order warehouse to be held as unclaimed. The importer is responsible for
paying storage charges while unclaimed merchandise is held at the warehouse. If it remains
unclaimed at the end of six months, the merchandise is sold at auction.
Page 5
Classification determines how much duty will be collected. Classification is more than simply
looking up an item in an index. It is a very complicated process requiring the application of the
General Rules of Interpretation; the section, chapter and subheading notes; and the Explanatory
Notes. The importer is responsible for properly classifying his merchandise before entry. If he is
not sure how to properly classify an item, he can submit a request, in writing, for a binding
classification ruling to the National Commodity Specialist Division, U.S. Customs, Attn:
Classification Ruling Requests, New York, NY 10048. The rulings will be binding at all ports of
entry unless revoked by the Headquarters' Office of Regulations and Rulings. If an importer is
not satisfied with the binding ruling received from New York, he or she can appeal it to the
Headquarters' Office of Regulations and Rulings, Washington, DC 20229. The Customs Service
will not issue binding rulings in response to oral requests.
Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 10/29/2013

Girl and boy sharing bedroom decorating advice?

Sierra L

My two kids. are 7 year olds and will be sharing a room. One a girl and one a boy. What are some cute bedroom sets that will go together well or were meant to be together, that will look great in their room.

Answer
I wouldn't go with a theme, I would make it colorful, like paint the walls and have neutral curtains and light fixtures but I would be sure that they each had a shelf or some kind of storage to call their own that they can have their things on. I would keep the bedspreads the same color but put pillows and little touches that are different on the beds. For example, a red ladybug pillow for her and a red car pillow for him. The ideas are endless in my head right now. I'm sure you'll come up with something great and they'll love it. Take care.

Will you help me design my bedroom?

Ok so im moving out of state and decided to sell my current bedroom set and start new when I get to my new place. I am a 24 yr old female college student. I currently have a black and red theme going on, but id like to change it up. Im starting from scratch. My room is small. Im trying to figure out a way to maximize space and storage. I have a lot of stuff that will be in my bedroom and I need a lot of storage, mainly for books and clothes. I also need a work space for school work and writing.

Im looking for something young and fun but also sophisticated. I want something relaxing, as I tend to stress a lot. As im going to be sharing a bathroom with other people, I would like a vanity area, maybe a desk that can douple as a vanity or whatever.
Also, id rather not go smaller than a full bed.

I need everything, furniture, bedding, lighting, accents...everything! If you could help id love whatever ideas you have. Please use pictures to help portray your ideas. Thank you so much!

I just found a place for me and my domestic partner and we have no bed or anything because we lost our storage while homeless for the past 2 years. We need sofas a bedroom set and any kind of curtains bedding what ever we are located in uniondale but have no car.

Answer
If you have no money or a very low income you should be able to get assistance for essentials from Social Services so should go to your nearest office. Otherwise if your income is low but not entitled if would be charity shops but you would have to pay. You really don't honestly expect you can get all this furniture for nothing unless you were going round the skips where you live for goods that are being disposed of by owners.

We are looking for ideas on how to set up the master bedroom without dressers or nightstands.?

Q. Our new place has lots of closets and storage. We are thinking of not going with the norm of bedroom sets and do something different. Suggestions welcome!
We are also not planning on having a television in the room. Any other ideas?

A. I guess it would depend on how big the room is. If you're planning on buying a new bed you could up-size as long as it doesn't overpower the room. A chaise lounge would be really pretty and you could put a floor lamp next to it for reading. You might also consider a tall mirror - either one you can lean against a wall or a free-standing one. You don't want the room to look too plain so curtains would add some color. Are you putting a TV in the room? An armoire would look good and add some height to the room.

What is a good adhesive remover on wood that won't discolor or damage it?
Q. I made the mistake of using scotch tape and labels on an expensive red wood bedroom set when I put it in storage serveral years ago. I took it out from storage recently, but find it difficult to remove the label and tape and don't want to chance damaging the fine wood.

A. I always use Goo Gone on everything. I would use it on a spot that is hidden first to test it, but I would think it would work.
