When I mean filthy it is very dirty. I'm just wondering can a rug be so dirty that a professional steamclean won't help at all ? If it helps even just a little, I will get it done.

Answer
I just had my rugs professionally done today and it made a really huge difference. ! The carpet smells clean and fresh and all the stains came out.. .I'm getting a few cans of scothguard tomorrow and spraying the high traffic areas so they don't stain so badly ! I had 2 bedrooms/ 1 set of stairs and a hallway a livingroom/diningroom combo done and it cost under $160 it would've been an additional $40 to have stainguard and some other "treatment" done.. Stanley Steamer's quote was roughly $400 + gas... A local "green" family outfit was around $250-$300... So, I think we did all right.. Call around and get some estimates... It really does help.. I've rented a steamer and it's ok but, not as good... Good luck

How much would it cost to live in Mexico city for a month?

- I know theres a swine flu there. This question is in regard for about a year from now,

Answer
Mexico City is a great place to visit for a month!

It would be nice to have some more details about what you are looking to do in Mexico City.

Anyways, you can rent a decent (not a first rate hotel, but clean and safe) hotel room in downtown Mexico City for about $700 pesos per week, but that's with a shared bath. It also includes free internet in the lobby and a safe for your things. You can get a room w/bath for about $1,000 pesos per week. It really depends on what you want. There are many hotels in the Centro Historico (Downtown) which is close to many sights and things to see and do.

Yes, there's human flu in Mexico. It's also in the US and now it's in many other countries.

As for the cost of daily living: A ride on the Metro subway system costs $2.00 pesos (less than $0.20 US cents), a short taxi ride costs about $20 pesos, a bus costs about 3-4 pesos in the DF.

A tour of the city by Turibus costs about $150 pesos for all day.

Food: A tamale and a cup of atole (a steaming hot rice drink, often Chocolate or strawberry flavored) costs about 15 pesos. There's your breakfast. Lunch at a small-medium family run restaurant, the set menu comida corrida which usually includes soup, rice, beans, a main dish (enchiladas, beef or chicken steak, fish etc), a dessert, tortillas and a drink of agua fresca (flavored water, like juice) should cost between $40-50 pesos. Dinner: six tacos and a coke= $38 pesos (5 pesos per taco, 8 pesos for the coke. So your total for one day of food= $93 pesos mas o menos (more or less) and that's way under $10 USD at the current exchange rate of about $13.2 pesos to $1 USD.

Here is a list of prices for Mexico City. Some of these seem a little low, so maybe the list is a little old:

What can i do to fix the heat in my apartment?

I live in a small 2 bedroom apt and my gas bill was 300 for the month... my thermostat is set to 68 degees but only gets to about 66. if i turn it up to 72, it reaches 70. Would a new thermostat do the trick? ive insulated the windows and under the doors too. Please help!!!

Answer
If the thermostat is mechanical then that may very well be part of the problem. I would l suggest replacing the thermostat with a digital (which they wont pay for) then depending on your skill level you need to clean the burners. But it sound like the first problem not getting to the right temp is faulted on the thermostat. Ive seen more crappy apartments thermostats that are bad then I care to remember. Just dont get the stat at wally world they are junk. You need to get one thats for gas electric, dual powered (means it takes batteries and your covered either way for power)
Get a honeywell or white rodgers stat and call it a day. Also, make sure your furnace filter is clean and not plugged up. The apartment placed typically only change them twice a year and use the cheapest filter know to man, the blue or geen mesh ones. Get a pleated one, they sell a three pack lowes or homedepot by natural air for like 9 bucks. they are decent for what they are and a million times better than probably whats in there., LOL

Ceiling Fan Installation where there is no exisiting fixture?

My husband and I would like to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. Only problem is there is not an existing light fixture in the ceiling. Would this be expensive to have an electrician install all this? Before we set up any estimates I wanted to figure out if it was too expensive for us to consider.

Answer
Installing a ceiling fan is not too difficult, even if you don't have a fixture. A local, residential electrician should be able to take care of the wiring and set up for under $300.00. The will have to fish the wires, install a mounting box and possible a new box for switches to control the fan. I don't know of any way to do it cheaper unless your husband is a real handy man. Check out http://www.ceilingfantasia.com for ceiling fan reviews, guides and more. They have some really cool stuff on there.

How to throw a huge Project x party?

bedroom set under 300
on Cheap Bedroom Furniture | Cargo Furniture
bedroom set under 300 image

Jean

I live in a rural area and have a lot of land. Im 16. I'm far away from neighbors. I have about 7 acres. I consulted my mom and she approved. I want to throw a huge party with at least 300 people. I am pretty sure I'd be okay with law enforcement on the count of no noise complaints from neighbors being far away. There might be some underage drinking so I was thinking to have a form minors have to sign in order to drink so they couldn't get back at me for that. I was thinking to hire a dj. Have a huge area for camping. A bonfire. A few security guards. A bunch of water balloons and a slip and slide because I don't own a pool. Have the house only be open for restroom reasons and indoor activities like dancing games and karaoke (living room mainly). Lock all bedrooms. People clock their belongings in their tents, cars, or the bedrooms s their safe. If anyone wanted to fight someone I'd have my security break it up. No firearms or weapons of any sort will be allowed. Have a bunch of decorations like balloons and what not. Maybe have a live bnd play. My side yard will be designated for parking and I'd have a parking director outside. All food and beverages will be on the back deck on a party table. I want to make sure I have things set and ready for the most worse cases. Does this sound good to you guys? Should I think about more things? Any ideas? Just want to have a party that will sky rocket my reputation. I'm going to a vocational school and I'll invite people from there and from my home school and they can bring people. There will be no destroying of property and that will result in discharge of the party. Im sure with that many people, thre will be someone who will bring illegal drugs (I personally don't do anything, but I won't stop them.) people will not be permitted to leave if they are too drunk or tired to drive, they will be forced to camp or have someone pick them up. All valuables will be locked and stored away properly. My moms boyfriend is a firefighter and could help if they party is out of control or the bonfire gets out of hand. People will be notified what the boundary of the propery is and there will be posted signs. The animals will be kept inside away from guests. There might possibly be two fires since the yard is rather large nd there will be a lot of people. I'm hiking a normal fire up front and a bigger fire out back. There will be trash cans everywhere (though people usually throw stuff on the ground) but for easier clean up. I'm sure people will be hooking up, they can do whatever thy want in their tnts, that's not my business. There will beva olleyball net set up for people to play some games if they want. Food and beverages will be provided. People will be notified that there could be drinking. Neighbors will be notified that there could be some noise since I'm far away but close enough to see their houses. There may be fireworks. I just want to make sure this is a party they won't forget. Thanks for your response.

Answer
This sounds AMAZING! I'm so jealous! Here's a few tips:

1) If you plan on 300 people, only invite 250. When people realise you're having such a huge party, they'll tell their friends and also bring people along with them!

2) Get twice as much food and drink as you think you'll need! If I was you I wouldn't supply alcohol for anyone apart from you and your close friends because if your mom gets charged with 300 counts of supplying alcohol to minors I can guarantee you'll never be allowed another party.

3) Be prepared for gatecrashers. People that force their way into parties aren't known for being polite, so get ready for foul language and possibly violence. I'd let your security know the second you see someone you don't want in your home.

4) When it's time for the fireworks, make sure there's no drunk people fumbling about with matches and explosives. Also, it's cool that your mom's boyfriend is a fireman because it would be a good idea to have him in charge of lighting the fireworks and making sure the bonfires stay under control.

5) Have a well-stocked First Aid kit in reach, because with such a big party, fights and accidents are bound to happen!

Most importantly, have fun! I've thrown a few parties, but at my first I was a nervous wreck! I was constantly running about checking that people were enjoying themselves that I forgot to enjoy it myself.

My family room carpet is filthy. I wanna get it professionally steamcleaned, will it help at all ?
Q. When I mean filthy it is very dirty. I'm just wondering can a rug be so dirty that a professional steamclean won't help at all ? If it helps even just a little, I will get it done.

A. Good luck

How can i stop my 7 year old from having behavior issues?

Q. My 7 year old is out of control. Has behavior issues, and issues at school. I need help. I was looking at boarding schools, and boot camps. I am at my wits end here. Please, help!

A. As this is your offspring, you (and your spouse) are the responsible authority in your household. Helping them under the concept of authority is an important life lesson. When they grow up and leave your household, the "new authorities" that will be over them (bosses, police, judges, etc.) are not going to be nice like "mommy." Read over the outline below and give it careful thought before proceeding.

New Rules
1. Do exactly what you say you will do from now on. If you tell your seven year-old he will get a time-out for being disobedient, carry out it out! If you have a significant other, they must be on board too- no exceptions.
2. Develop an action plan for how to punish misbehavior, and reward good behavior- write it down, then make copies. The one that has worked well for me in the past looked something like this is:

Infractions:
Not doing homework
Not doing your chores
(and so on)

Punishment:
First Infraction: No TV for a week
Second Infraction: A monetary fine AND First Infraction Penalty
Third: 300-line repetition, i.e., "I will never throw rocks at cars again as long as I live." Can't go to bed until it's done.
Fourth and subsequent: Double and Triple the above.

Ultimate punishment (if refusing to accept other punishments): stay in your room and don't come out until you are ready to accept responsibility, apologize and make amends for your behavior (I called it "reconciliation").

Buy a bulletin board mount it in the hall. Put each child's name on it. Each time they go a week without punishment, they get a happy face next to their name. They trade in happy faces for prizes mentioned below. Also, put achievements on the board to highlight the outcomes of good behavior.

Rewards:
Two Happy Faces: $10 allowance, Three: Movies, Four: Pizza, etc.

3. Sit down and talk to the family and let them know that the "old" sheriff is gone and that there's a new sheriff in town: "Mommy Tough Love," and if you live under this roof, you're under "Tough Love." Pass out the announcements, go over every point, bulliten board, etc. Put a copy of the announcement on the fridge and one in each bedroom. Removing or altering the announcement in any way is an infraction.

4. Sit down and talk with your seven year old in a quiet setting where there will be no disruptions. Ask what is causing this behavior, and what can be done to help, because he/she will be in hot water very soon if that aren't positive changes in behavior right away. Have someone else they like or respect very much reinforce what you have said.

This process seemed to work well with both of my youngin's. One's graduated from college just a few years ago and the other one's in her sophomore year. They laugh about it now.

Is the medical facility free is saudi Arabia, How much sR is required for good moderate leaving at Dammam for?
Q. I am trying to shift to Saudi Arabia (Dammam) to work for a company there. We have 2 young daughters age 4 and 8 yrs. How much will be the cost of education in CBSE School???
How much is the cost of rented house well furnished for three bed rooms set???
How much is the cost of food/vegitables and grocery for a month for 2 +2 children.

A. medical is not free. there are annual health cards around 300 riyals per individual. The health card covers most of the costs upto a year.

The rent for a well furnished accommodation would be around 1500 - 2200 riyals with all the facilities - three bedroom apartments, large kitchen, dining hall, etc.

the cost of schooling will be app. 5000 riyals a year under cbse.

the cost of food is cheap. you don't have to worry much.

How much should do you have to spend in the least to be a competitive dj to get gigs @ clubs? ?
Q. What things do I need to become a competive dj trying to get a gig in clubs? How much money is needed?
How much would I have to shell out in the very least to be competitive in a pretty nice club or radio station?

A. No experience in radio DJ.

Too much. Only the obsessed or passionate are willing to get that far in the business, because it simply costs a small fortune and lots and lots of time.

Do you have DJ friends? Hang out with them more, get advice, tips, and ask for some lessons. You could easily get started with skill and equipment information this way.

Most clubs will have all their equipment there already. You'll probably just need to bring some music and you'll be ready. But you'll still need your own set up, for practice and to climb the ladder. To climb the ladder, i find it easiest to keep practicing until you feel like a pro. Then throw some parties for your buddies, and offer to dj. For free or cheap of course. Play at high school dances. This will all get your name out there and if you find an online site or agent, you can find other events like house parties and weddings to dj at. This should all offer you plenty of chances to get a feel for "playing for the crowd". There's a huge difference between playing in your bedroom and playing for a crowd.
For your own equipment, expect to pay $700-800 for turntables, $100-300 for a mixer. And about another $150-500 on the sound system, depending on whether you want high quality or just something that makes sound lol.

By then you should have atleast met some people in the club business and impressed them. If you haven't, then you atleast have a decent resume under your belt :)

You'll probably get started as a warmup DJ. Remember to always build anticipation. And if you have passion for this, there's not much that can stop you.

I was given a king size bed for a spare bedroom.Where can i find deals on sheets.?
Q. Would like to look online for miss matched or seconds. Need help finding some sites that offer these.
This room will only be used for the occasional over night visitor so i do not need a perfect set. Thanks.

A. Cheapest place I've found for sheets, especially kings, are off price stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, especially in there clearance shelves -- Ross Dress for Less stores are probably the cheapest. I have bought king sheets there for under $10 and even got a $120 king duvet and shams set for $14.99. I have never seen prices on line that can beat what you will find in these stores, except a couple of times when Target has clearance sales on discontinued items on their website. Last year I got a down comforter for $25 and a set of 300 count cotton sheets for $20 from Target online. It's hit or miss, though. Sometimes they don't have anything at all. Ross stores always have plenty of stock, and it is usually good quality cotton from brands like Laura Ashley, Springmaid, Lauren or Springs.

How much would it cost to live in Mexico city for a month?
Q. - I know theres a swine flu there. This question is in regard for about a year from now,

How much does it cost to build a house in Colorado?
Q. Location: Breckenridge, CO (or nearby)
Size: 2,100 sq/ft
Floors: 2
Style: Complex
Lot size: Around 1,000sq/ft

What is a good estimate of how much it would cost?

A. First, you cannot get a lot that is only 1,000 sq feet.

Most lots in Breckenridge are going to be 1/2 acre or up. An empty 1/2 acre lot is going to cost around $600,000.

Then to build a $2,000 sqft custom home will probably set you back an additional $800,000.

You need to understand that Breckenridge is expensive. The average home price is $900,000. A small one bedroom condo is going to be at least $300,000. It is almost impossible to buy any single family home under $500,000.
