Would you buy from Art Van, Gardner White, Direct Buy, Value City, Cost Co, Sam's Club ?

Is furniture made with quality these days ? What are the brands that you think of when you want to buy furniture.

Budget ~ $3000 includes king size mattress.

Your thoughts and guidance.

Answer
Many of those stores will have complete bedroom sets that will hit your 3000.00 budet. Go shop and find the one that appeals to you. If you are confused as to which company is best then check them out on the BBB to see how they service their customers. http://www.bbb.org/

Is this bedroom too childish?

Is this bedroom set appropriate for a 24 year old? I am getting my first apartment by myself and I want it to look grown up, not like a teenager.

Answer
Childish? HA! my bedroom looks even more childish than that. It is looking professional and serious exactly what u r trying to show. But if u want to have a childish bedroom then go on, it is your room so your opinion is the one that matters no other people's. Yesterday I went to a house with drawings all over the walls, posters, dolls and millions of Mexican things! It is important to be yourself!

How do you know you are getting a good mattress?

My husband and I have decided to finally invest in a nice bedroom set. We are looking for a king size bed. My question is, how do you know you are getting a good comfortable mattress that is going to last? Is it all about the money you spend?

Answer
Tough call. My wife and I have had a king bed set for about 9 years now, and even though we bought one of the higher-end models and turned the mattress religiously, it's wearing out. We've had to put one of those TempurPedic knock-off toppers on it just to be able to sleep on it. The new rule is you can get 10 years out of a good mattress, but which ones are good? All I can tell you is we just spent a night at the Radisson to try out the Sleep Number Bed and we've decided to get one. They're not cheap -- the California King we want is $2,300.00 -- but they come with a 20-year limited warranty, so we figure that's about the same as buying two "regular" mattress and box spring sets. I also have a colleague who just bought a TempurPedic bed set and said he'd never get anything else (but they're expensive too -- I think he said he paid $3,000.00 for his).

where is a great place to buy bedroom furniture?

Will the master bedroom in on post housing for Junior NCO's fit a king size bedroom set?
Q. I know all housing are different, but are more or less the same size. E-5 on post housing.... will the bedroom fit a king size set? (bed, dresser, chest, and nightstand?) By the way it is just a two bedroom.
If we get rid of the dresser would it fit?

A. It can be a very tight fit in some locations and not in others. A King size bed will take up a lot of room .Housing sizes really do vary from base to base there is no standards at all. You should keep the dresser and put it in your closet or 2nd bedroom if you don't have children or somewhere as storage. Or use the chest as a coffee table/storage in another room. Sometimes even closets aren't the greatest and a dresser is needed.

We have lived in several places over the years, including 2 bedrooms. One place was 22 x 12 with walk in closet that was out of this world and another place was more like 11 x 11 and a very tight fit.

do you have a hard time letting go of old furniture?
Q. i have a king size canopy bed (dark wood frame), with lighting and mirrors at the "ceiling" part of the canopy, its a beautiful bed but i've had that bed for over 12 years. it now has war marks, needs one or two very minor repairs, possibly repainted/polished, and it has to be assembled by furniture people otherwise it can be a disaster if not assembled properly.

I have alot of years and memories in that bed, its beautiful when its put together but with all the work it'll take to get it fresh & "new" again, i could get a brand new bedroom set. i dont want to sell it. a part of me wants a brand new bedroom set but i'm so attached to this bed, its also "one of a kind" you dont find beds like this much anymore.

do any of you have a hard time letting go of stuff you've had for so many years? how do you get rid of that feeling?
i guess i just want a new start . . . . and to let go of the old, bring in the new . . . .

anyone ever felt that way?

A. NOTHING SAYS STUFF HAS TO BE NEW!

If you love it, keep it. Don't feel bad about it, either. I really think it's all the advertising we're constantly seeing that makes us feel like we "have" to have new stuff.

Why don't any of the cool and funky comforter sets come in King Size?
Q. I am young and looking for a fun and funky bedding set, but I have a king size bed. All the sets I like seem to go up to Queen, but no king. Is the assumption that people who have big beds are boring and would rather have "hotel like sets" with dull colors? Does King size = Conservative???

A. Try overstock.com. Shipping is only $2.95. The link is below. There's a handful of funky bedding sets on there that are king size. But yes, in general, king size = conservative! I think the assumption is that if you have enough money to have a large bed and a home with a bedroom large enough to hold it, then you must not be very young or hip. And truth be told, stores probably don't sell a lot of the funky patterns in king size. The internet is probably your best bet. I'm having a similar problem finding toddler-themed sheets for my little girl in full-size. Everything is twin. Good luck!
