5 piece bedroom set worth?

I have a 5 piece bedroom set that I would like to sell. There's a twin day bed with trundle, a dresser with mirror, a night stand, a TV stand with storage above and below, and an up-right chest I guess you would call it. The only thing that's damaged is the nightstand, it has a stain on it from a spill, still not very noticeable. How much would this be worth?

Contemporary or Modern.

I love that this set has a very clean feel to it and the ruffle detailing is great.

I would suggest going for some darker accents in the room to add contrast to the bedding. You could do some really dark navy blue, if you wanted to stick with blues. Or for a more classic approach, chocolate brown or black.

If you want the room to have a bright fun feel, incorporating some lime green or dark purple would also work well.

Im looking to buy a black bedroom set but i dont know many stores that sell what im looking for. Nothing really specific just as long as its black and has like 4 or 5 pieces. what are some stores aside from the brick, leons, and ikea.

I have a 5 piece set of 5 year old bedroom furniture. It is in great shape. It is dark brown cherry. It is a king size sleigh bed, two night stands, a mirrored high top dresser and a large tv armoire. I originally paid $7000 for it.

The problem with used furniture is that it is like a new car--it devaluates almost immediately. People who are shopping for used furniture also want to buy dirt cheap (unless antique or a collectors piece). You could try & see if there is a consignment shop near you. Take a look at what is on sale & prices on places like Craigs list, etc in your area. See if there is a furniture exchange site. You will probably not get anything like what you think you should get for it. You can always list it for what you want and then start dropping the price. Good luck

What are the cost invoved in refinishing furniture for DIY. I found a 5 piece Bedroom set that needs.....?

It has nicotine stains all over it and pretty much needs to be refinished. It's not cracked or has any nicks and scratches in it. How time consuming is this. How much money in products would it run about to do this entire set.

A. You would do very well to purchase this set in my opinion. I think the wood is mahogany. I has a stain to enhance and even the color of the wood. The bulk of the cost would be labor, so if you are willing to do the sanding, stripping, etc. you would come out way ahead. I would sand down the finish where I could, and maybe use a commerical stripper to clean up the molding or areas difficult to get to with a sander. you can also use sandpaper affixed to sponge, or sandpaper wrapped around dowel to get into the curved areas.
Depending on the cost of sand paper and associated stuff, spongesanders, etc - It would be very little cost. And, I wouldn't use stain after sanding it. I would simply add a sealer, something like polyurethane, to protect the wood.

All in all I don't think one would spend more than $25 to complete the project.
