Decorating My Bedroom Ideas? I'm On a Budget?

well i reeaaaly wanna decorate my bedroom and i have been given a budget. £250-£350 its not alot but i hope to work it lool!

i would like some chic but cheap furniture and does anyone no where i can get a cheap but stylish sofa bed? oh and my room is tiny so i ca go over board with the stuff :]

Go to thrift stores, wholesalers, and rummage sales. You'll be surprised at what you can find, and don't be afraid to haggle over the prices.

You can try some fun new wall hangings, and throw rugs (even on carpet, if you have carpet). You can pack away all your what-nots and get some new themed ones of your favorite stuff.

Try to be creative and don't be afraid to like or dislike stuff.

Just rented a house trying to decorate a romantic and relaxing bedroom for me and my bf on a budget.Also my land lord wont let me paint the walls and they have wood paneling. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! Please no rude comments.

You can get some ideas from Threadbanger (via YouTube) or Instructables.com

Instructables.com has "instructables" on how to make furniture. If not, you can join a FreeCycle group for free furniture or buy them cheap at yard/garage/moving sales (Craiglist has listings).

Threadbangers has a lot of videos for home decor. Check them out!

Threadbanger even has a video on what to do with wood paneling when your landlord won't let you do anything do them! They said to use decals. If they're too expensive for you, online sources can tell you how to make your own.

What's the best route for an out of state move?

My family is moving from Louisiana to Tennessee. I looked into PODS, but they don't operate in our area of Ten. (Cookeville). It would cost us roughly $850 to use U-Haul and to pack ourselves and this isn't including gas. Does anyone know of any other ways? We set aside only $1000 for the move. We have a 3 bedroom house to move, but no big kitchen items (like fridge and washer and dryer), just living room and bedroom furniture and other household items. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Actually moving it yourself is the cheapest way UNLESS it is a Local move.
So far you have gotten one of the cheapest rates out there for self moves.

Here is a rule of thumb to follow:

If your furniture is actually worth less then the cost to move it---don't!
Have a yard sale and then when you get to your new home buy
new or used which ever you can afford

You can always look for coupons or coupon codes ( on the internet) to get discount rates or special rates from self move companies like Budget, UHaul, Penske. Ryder.

We used Penske( because I got a great discount at the time)

Apply for a gas card and use it for the trip. You can pay it off over time.

Remember to Keep ALL expense receipts because you can deduct this move off your income tax ----rental truck, food, hotels, gas or milage deduction, job search, airline tickets if they were part of it etc.

I have a very tight budget, so DIY projects are definitely welcome. I have three light yellow walls and one light blue wall. It is a small bedroom-my furniture consists of a king sized bed, a dresser and a bookshelf (both of those are tall rather than wide-they take up less room that way).
I'm looking mainly for ideas of wall art. I don't have a headboard and was thinking of making one myself, but I don't know, since my room is already small it might make it appear smaller.

you can get an 8' sheet of plywood, cover it with quilt batting on one side, stapled to the plywood on the other, and a few yards of a fabric that goes well with your other decor to cover the batting, again stapled to the other side. Lay longways on the floor behind the head of your bed for an instant, cheap headboard.
Another cheap idea for decor is to get a large canvas (oil painting type) and some colors you like, splash across the canvas and let dry. Instant art. Pretty cheap.
Make the most of the room you have with underbed storage bins.

I need to redecorate my bedroom on a low budget?

I like blue, green, yellow, and orange. I don't really like pink or purple. And I am staying away from red because if you have a lot of red things it can tend to make you angry-er.
Any ideas? Like budget is like maybe 75 bucks if I'm lucky. But you don't have to include furniture or a bed spread. (bedding, comforter whatever you call it.)
Also Iove volleyball, spongebob, fashion, music, and sunflowers.

How to make room brighter?

So in my new apartment the carpet is dark green and the walls in my bedroom are dark red. I wouldn't have even chosen to live here just for this reason but the budget rules all. I'm not allowed to paint or remove the BLACK mini blinds (which I have up all the time as well). I have no idea who the hell decided to paint it such a dark color but it's TOO dark. I have a 5 light lamp with maximum wattage bulbs in it plus the light that's on the ceiling. I'd buy more lamps but I'm not too keen on turning on a million lights every time I want to spend time in my room. And to make matters worse, my bedroom furniture is black. At my old house it worked but here it just adds to the dark. But what can you do eh? I already have light comforter on my bed and have tried to do as much "lightening" with stuff as possible but the room is still so dark. What can I do to make it lighter without spending a lot of money? Any suggestions, useful or not, are much appreciated!!

well you can change the blinds, its just screws. you can switch it back to the drab black when you move out.

if your ceiling is white, get a lamp that shines up onto the ceiling to use that as a reflector.

get some light posters.

i would talk it over with the owner to see if there is some way you can paint. red is a horrible color.
